This beautifully renovated barn is situated on landscaped gardens overlooking gardens, forest & bucolic countryside. Just 60 miles from Chicago, it's located just outside of La Porte in a bucolic, serene setting, This retreat style property is five minutes from La Porte and ten minutes from Lake Michigan.

The Barn sleeps up to 8 and the Studio sleeps up to 8. The price is tailored to party size.
- Group size up to 12 and over will have The Barn and River Rock Studio.
- Groups 13-16 will have The Barn, River Rock Studio & Dorm Room

Depending on your party size, this rental gives you over 4500 sq ft of interior space and two buildings right next to each other. Both buildings have large communal spaces and external decks. The accommodation comprises:

THE BARN (Sleeps 8)
This unique 3000 sq ft 18th Century Barn has a large open plan lounge/kitchen/dining space on the mid level. Opens out to deck with fire pit. There is a full size pool table and real wood fire. A large open plan loft bedroom overlooks the living space. On the lower level there are two bedrooms and bathroom.

RIVER ROCK STUDIO (Sleeps 8)
The River Rock Studio offers an additional 1600 sq ft of flexible open plan lounge, studio and sleeping space. Opens out to deck. The studio space is flexible and can be used either as studio or sleeping space. Please advise the owner of preferences before arrival.

- Bedroom 1 is large loft style overlooking lounge and dining area (king bed and 3 twin beds)
- Bedroom 2 (2 twin beds)
- Bedroom 3 (2 twin beds)

RIVER ROCK STUDIO
- Flexible: Studio/Bedroom 4 can be used as communal area or to sleep four in queen and king bed. Advise host of preferences before arrival
- Bedroom 5 is 600 sq ft dorm style room in River Rock Studio that and sleeps five in twin beds. Includes beautiful fireplace, seating area

There is WiFi in The River Rock Studio but not in The Barn

Guest Access

- Guest have access to the Barn and River Rock Studio
- Tipi is not included in booking but can be rented as an extra space

Interaction with Guests

On site management. Available as needed.

HOUSE RULES
- NO SMOKING IN OR NEAR BUILDINGS
- NO EXTRA GUESTS without prior approval and payment (day guests and overnight) Guests are evicted immediately without refund if this rule is not followed.
- NO EXCESSIVE LOUD NOISE outside without prior agreement. No amplified sound without prior discussion. Local ordinance laws apply and we also love our neighbors!
- NO NOISE OUTSIDE after 11pm ET or before 9am ET. Local ordinance laws apply and we also love our neighbors!
- Guests are responsible to pay for any damages or missing items
- No-one under 21 unless accompanied by parent or legal guardian
- Do not place anything on the pool table cover - it's not a table
- Clean grill, kitchen and all dishes as you would normally after cooking.
- Do not move furniture without permission
- Do note use towels to remove make up, clean up mess or do anything that will stain them. Stained towels will be charged at $25 per towel.
- Do not remove furniture from building without permission
- Please discuss events or parties with host before booking
- Extra fees are charged for cleaning if these rules are not followed
- By confirming this booking, the guests agree to sign rental release waiver. Host can email a copy of this prior to booking.

Yoga Retreat Venue

This is the 2nd year we’ve hosted a yoga retreat at this property and Bek always makes us feel exceedingly welcome! Her cooking is delicious, the property is exactly right for our needs, and we had a wonderful time 2 years in a row!

Wonderful Weekend

Loved the place! It was a super spacious area to rent for the weekend, and the host was very accommodating. I love the quick responses when I would communicate with her and how helpful she was. A Yoga Retreat to Remember

Bek was an incredibly efficient communicator and helped put me at ease in answering my many questions :) The property was perfect for our yoga retreat with 18 of us. The yoga studio space was perfect for our classes and the sleeping areas worked wonderfully for our needs. Plus Bek provided some delicious food that was the star of the retreat. We will definitely return!!

1880s Beauty

It was tremendous for all 20 of us, in all our age ranges, to be "together" with the variety of sleeping areas throughout both the Barn and River Rock Studio. The outdoor areas were expansive and beautiful. Coordination with our host and hostess was easily and readily accomplished. I cannot give it a high enough rating!!

Bachelorette party

This property is GORGEOUS! The house is uniquely decorated which creates its charm! I hosted a bachelorette party and the house accommodated for 16 people easily! The host, Bek, was very easily available if needed but gave us our privacy as well. I’d like to note that the time changes on the property so that made it difficult to determine what time it actually was! Otherwise this is a GREAT house to rent and I highly recommend!!

Great weekend getaway spot

Two great houses on a single property. Close to a softball field and golf courses. Have stayed here three times and could not have been happier each time. Highly recommend it.

Great for groups - everyone gets a bed!!

This property is incredible beautiful and has eclectic decor that make for great conversation starters for any group. The host is fantastic and provided everything we needed to do the fire pit on the back porch with the group. We had a group of 15 for a girls weekend and it was perfect because we’re way beyond the age where people want to sleep on the couch! There were plenty of beds, everything was accessible and New Buffalo beach was only 20min away. If we forgot anything there was a Walmart 5min down the road which was very convenient. Everything was clean and comfortable and the host was a great at planning communication for a large group! Would highly recommend for a girls weekend, large families, and reunions.

Dad’s 90th Birthday

The house was beautiful ! The grounds were very pretty and peaceful. The large family areas were perfect for our family. We all congregated around the pool table & played pool every evening which was great fun ! We had plenty of room utilizing both houses. Almost all of the bedrooms in the Barn had twin beds. The description on VRBO said that one of the downstairs bedrooms would have a D/Q bed which we planned for our elderly parents, however there were 2 twins instead, which was a bit disappointing, but we worked it out. We were within an easy drive to the beach, casinos & wineries. Bek was great to work with, very pleasant and patient answering all of my questions. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms (however we assumed that hand towels and washcloths would be included with the towels, otherwise we would have brought our own). We had a lot of fun and my Dad enjoyed a wonderful 90th birthday weekend with all of our family. Thank you for everything !

Wedding was amazing!

Bek and her husband were amazing hosts for us during our wedding! The barn house was absolutely amazing and the studio was gorgeous! We got so many compliments. The T.P/Yurt was a huge hit as well. The Yurt can sleep well over 5 people! The place was very clean. We had approximately 60 people there for the wedding which was the perfect amount for the size of the location. I would recommend this to anyone for a wedding or family reunion or big party! Or just for a great get away for a couple! The decor was amazing and all the intricate details made the place such a unique place to stay! God bless you guys and hopefully we’ll see you again soon!

Amazing Getaway

Fabulous Bachelorette Getaway Near Michigan Wineries

We loved our time staying at Bek's property! I hosted a bachelorette for 14 and it was the perfect space for our party. The property itself is very unique and we loved having the barn and guest house spaces. Communication with Bek and her property manager, Jose, was very easy and they responded quickly and kindly to all of my questions. We are so happy to have spent a good amount of time during our weekend stay at the house itself. We thought the location was great to go to the myriad of Michigan wineries just over the border and make the drive back to Chicago in just over an hour. Overall, would highly recommend this space! I'm Bek with many labels. Some of them include Mom to three delicious kids, wife to a fabulous husband and manager of my own business. Some others include: chef, yogi, gardener, hermit, dancer, playmate and adventurer.

I love to be creative. This shows up mostly in the kitchen, garden and organizing fun (and sometimes silly ;) events and experiences for my friends, family and of course myself! I love pretty much anything outdoors: gardening, skiing, cycling, hiking, swimming and kayaking. My quiet side loves reading, yoga, chocolate meditation and snoozing in the sun.

I'm originally from England, I traveled the world for business and pleasure (mostly both :) and finally settled in the USA (Indiana) in 2006. I love the heartland for it's easy going people, relaxed pace and quality of life. I love our local countryside with wide open spaces, zero rush hour and being just 15 minutes to the beautiful lake Michigan.

I love Richmond-upon-Thames for its easy access to shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, numerous parks and of course, the riverside. I love that I can enjoy the relaxed, fun pace in Richmond and be in central London in 15 minutes.

As a host, I'll be as hands on or hands off as you need/want. I'm happy to help wherever I can to help make your stay at any of our properties delightful!
