About the property

Come relax at West Cliff Azure. A spacious home with incredible views of the Monterey Bay. Watch for whales and dolphins as you entertain from the galley kitchen. Gaze out at the water as you sip a beverage and enjoy the views from the living room and dining room.

This 4 bedroom home sleeps 8 comfortably. The master bedroom has a Cal King bed and the other 3 bedrooms have queen beds (all hotel grade mattresses). A queen size blow-up bed offers additional sleeping options. *** Please note that house next door expected to undergo construction. We apologize for any disturbance. ***

All four bathrooms recently remodeled, including the en suite Master Bath with ocean view.

The wrap around balcony is perfect for sun bathing and for sipping your coffee while you drink in the views of the ocean. You can BBQ on the back deck while you watch the pelicans fly overhead. There is a fire-pit in the back yard for roasting marshmallows and gazing at the night sky while you listen to the sounds of the crashing waves against the cliffs.

The house is located in a low-key neighborhood surrounded by full-time residents. We ask that our guests respect the quiet hours (9pm weeknights, 10pm weekends). Parties which cause a disturbance to the neighbors are not permitted. This house is not available for weddings or events.

This home is right on West Cliff Drive. Walk across the street and stroll or bike along the scenic path. If you turn right, you'll head towards Natural Bridges State Beach. If you turn left, you'll head towards the world famous surf break 'Steamer Lane', a light house and a surfing museum.

Visit the migrating monarch butterflies at Lighthouse field (they spend their winters in the eucalyptus trees) or ride your bike down to the Boardwalk and ride the giant dipper roller coaster.

New leaf market is the local health food store that is walking and biking distance. Stop into Kelly's French Bakery for your morning coffee or Santa Cruz mountain brewing for a cold one.

You can take a walk to the end of the wharf and enjoy the views, sea lions and various dining options.

About Amanda Szecsei

Darren and Lisa Kerr have lived in the Bay Area for 25 years. We moved here to be closer to the hub of technological development, and fell in love with the unique beauty of Northern California and the wonderful people we have come to know. Our family of five loves hiking, playing volleyball, going to baseball games, golfing, making artwork, and especially eating out.

Our amazing property manager, Amanda Szescei, lives a short bike ride away. She's lived in Santa Cruz, Maui, Palo Alto, and Southern California and can help you with anything you need to know to have a wonderful vacation.

We first appreciated the beauty of this specific location while at a plein air painting workshop. When we learned this property was available and had the opportunity to take in the views from the upstairs deck, it took about 30 seconds before we both said, 'YES!!!'.

What makes this house unique

The upstairs dining room provides stunning views of the bay and surf crashing on the rocks and beach. Adjacent is a comfortable living room where your family and friends can hang out and relax in the company of beautiful Monterey Bay. The galley style kitchen is open to the dining and living rooms and also has stunning views, so it's hardly work to be delegated food prep duties. Two of the bedrooms and beautifully remodeled bathrooms are also upstairs. The upstairs deck in the front overlooks the ocean, and then wraps around to a larger and more sheltered deck in the back with comfortable outdoor furniture and a large gas bbq. The spacious back yard has room for volleyball or yard games and rustic fire pit.

The downstairs great room boasts a wall of windows facing the ocean, premium cable for catching sports or movie at night and large light-filled space perfect for morning yoga.

Two other two remodeled bathrooms and two comfortable bedrooms are also downstairs. We have seven beach cruiser bikes to share, along several boogie boards, skim boards, and a few wet suits. We have 6 beach chairs and 1 beach umbrella.

We have a ping pong/pool table in the garage. We ask that you enjoy the games in the garage, but close the automatic garage door during quiet hours. (The noise from the pool table/ping pong games can disturb the neighbors.)

You are steps away from the popular West Cliff sidewalk and bike path. From here there are stairs down to the ocean. Lighthouse Park and beach is a ten minute walk along the West Cliff sidewalk to your left, while Natural Bridges beach is just a mile along the same path to your right. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk is a mile and a half away - easy for the family to bike in ten minutes; though you will probably stop along the way to take photos or mental snapshots, as there's always something to catch your eye - seals, otters, even the occasional whale sighting.

Wonderful home in a beautiful area of Santa Cruz. We walked to the Seymour Marine laboratory and to the lighthouse. Lots of beautiful Ocean Vistas to enjoy. Very accommodating property manager Amanda.

What a view!

This is a beautiful home that is very well cared for. I stayed here for a week with some coworkers and we would all love to return some day. A few of us debated whether or not a person could ever become bored with the incredible view over the ocean and we all decided that it really isn't possible.

The amenities in the house were very useful. Having bikes for getting around made for a really nice way to see and explore the city.

Wonderful, amazing house, more than we expected!

We rented this beautiful house so our extended family could gather for my nephew's UCSC college graduation. We could not have picked a better house. We had a wide range of ages all staying together and the house more than accommodated us so comfortably. All 4 bathrooms were extremely well stocked and were located in or close to each bedroom giving each of us great privacy and convience. The main room upstairs was big enough for the whole family to gather and have meals together. The house was close to the beach, the grocery and beach walking path. We enjoyed the beach cruisers, the wetsuits, the great backyard, the fire pit, and the pool table/ping pong table in the garage. We were able to do laundry as needed located in the garage. The manager and owners were easy to work with, very gracious and responded very quickly when we had questions. I would recommend this rental and would return to stay if we are ever in the area again. Great home and location

The four bedroom, four bathroom home was very nice. Plenty of room and plenty of parking. The deck that overlooks the ocean is one of the greatest views around. Just great hanging out on the deck with coffee or a wine. We used the bicycles (which are provided) every day. And it was so easy to rent. The manager Amanda was great to work with. Definitely will rent here again.
