About the property

Cottage WITH NEW PONTOON BOAT, AC, Dishwasher, Granite, Washer/Dryer and More

NEW FOR 2018: We are replacing our 2008 pontoon boat with a BRAND NEW 2018 MODEL Montego Bay Fish and cruise pontoon boat with live-well and other extras for use during the 2018 boating season. The new boat is being built but is very similar to the one pictured here in the first couple of pictures - VERY SHARP looking boat. Our rental rates in 2018 are competitively priced at $1,200 to $2,300 per week during the boating season. For comparison, if you were to rent this pontoon boat alone, it would cost approx. $250 per day or around $1,400 per week (without a cottage included). Bundle and save money.

3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on 1,300 acre Pickerel Lake on its own secluded bay with a pontoon boat included in the price. Sleeps up to 8 people.

For the 2017 boating season, we have a superb 2008 model 25 foot pontoon boat with a new (2017 model) 90 horse 4-stroke Mercury engine, live-well, fish finder, trim and tilt, bimini Top, three pontoons and seating for up to 13 persons. In April, 2018 we will replace this pontoon boat with a brand new 2018 model pontoon boat with a 90 horse 4-stoke motor. In May of 2017 we installed a BRAND NEW ELECTRIC BOAT LIFT - just lower the boat with the key fob and head out onto the lake. Lots of room to fish off this boat or pull a tube behind (large tube included with your stay).

Pickerel Lake is about 3.5 hours from Milwaukee and Madison. Cottage was Completely Rebuilt in 2014 and is right on Pickerel Lake within 20 feet from the water's edge. There is a great deal of privacy since we are tucked back over 200 feet away from the lightly traveled Pickerel Lake Road. Fire pit, propane grill and laundry onsite. Available year-round for fishing, boating and swimming in the summer and snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing in the winter. We are on the ATV route and Snowmobile Trail.

Swimming is available at the end of our dock. It is about 4 feet deep and is somewhat sandy there but also with muck and weeds nearby. We have a swim ladder at the end of the pier. Larger areas to swim are available on Pickerel Lake with a short boat ride. There are also some nice beaches located at nearby lakes.

The cost for renting the pontoon boat is built into the price of your stay BETWEEN 5/1 AND APPROXIMATELY 10/20. Winter rates are much lower. The Pontoon boat rental is *mandatory during the "SPRING", "SUMMER" and "FALL" rental seasons and must be rented for all days that you are staying.

We may consider rental of the cottage without the pontoon boat (and discount the rate appropriately) in the following cases:

1. If you are renting in the fall of 2017 and your rental period does not include a Friday or Saturday night stay.

2. If you are making a reservation within 30 days of your check-in date.

We are right on the ATV Trail Route! You can use the blacktop Pickerel Lake road (subject to a 25 mile per hour posted ATV speed limit) to connect to the off-road trails that start approximately 2.5 miles to the west. You can get to the Augustyn Spring trails from there (maybe two miles further-on off-road trails). This connects to the White Lake ATV Trails. You can venture further west and hook up with the Parrish Highlands ATV Trails. We are also right on the Snowmobile Trail!! Unload your sled and you are ready to venture across the state on your snowmobile. Cottage is equipped with two heat pumps (for air conditioning or heating) and a propane furnace for optimal comfort all year round.

About Mike Gresch & Dan Gresch

Our family worked together to completely rebuild this cottage in 2014. We have been vacationing on Pickerel Lake since birth and decided to buy a place of our own.

Mike Gresch & Dan Gresch purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Mike Gresch & Dan Gresch chose Northeast

It is very secluded and the last cottage on this side of the lake. Great location for fishing and boating and visiting nearby attractions.

There is a nice driveway area and three steps that take you down to the yard area along the water’s edge where the fire pit is located. We have over 51 acres and over 2,500 feet of frontage on Pickerel Lake. The majority of the bay is part of our property. The privacy of this place is amazing. We are over 200 feet away from the lightly traveled Pickerel Lake Road. The cottage is tucked back by the lake and you cannot see the road from the cottage. The main dock extends from the deck out over the water. It has an L section and a Bench for sitting. The pontoon boat is located there. The secondary dock is where we have the canoe with paddles plus small fishing boat.

Swimming off the end of the dock and other spots a short boat ride ride away.

We have a fire pit and dry/stacked firewood available in a small wood shed.

The cottage has three bedrooms and it sleeps up to 8 people. It is about 1,000 square feet with 500 square feet downstairs and 500 upstairs. One room has a queen bed and a double bed. Another bedroom has one queen bed. The loft bedroom is a walk through bedroom with the TV, love seat and a day bed (twin bed) that has a trundle underneath (another twin bed - also called a murphy bed). There is also a pull out couch downstairs with a Double MEMORY FOAM mattress.

The property is on the NW corner of Pickerel Lake on its own private bay. It is between the town of Pickerel and Mole Lake. It is northeast of Antigo (25 miles) and South of Crandon (20 miles).

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage comes with a newer Pontoon boat, on-site laundry and sleeps up to 8. It is a nearly new building as it was completely rebuilt in 2014. Great views of the lake and good fishing right off the dock.

Best Family Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

We have been home for two days after 5 nights at this magical place and we cannot quit talking about it. . I was slightly afraid to go that long without wi-fi, but it is also one of the reasons we wanted to try the place. We were so busy fishing, hiking, and BOATING, that we were all too exausted at the end of the day to do more than watch a DVD or play a board game. It was perfect. It was beautiful. The owners left us alone, but where available if we had a concern. Recommend all the way, even thoughh I would like to keep the bookings open to ourselves...they deserve the 5 stars.

Great to be back

  • 5 of 5

Last summer we came with our three oldest "big city" grandkids (ages 10, 8 and 7) and had a magical time. Although it was chilly in June and the kids were at first hesitant to ride the raft behind the pontoon, when they actually tried it, it was non-stop! The fishing was virtually non-existent, even off the dock. No problem. We explored with the canoe and kayak. We ate all our meals outdoors, sang around the campfire and made s'mores, and I grossed them out cleaning the one sunfish they did catch.

So, the question was: could this year be as magical as last? Indeed it was! This year the youngest grandchild, age 4, got to come along. He had seen the pictures and heard the stories and he was ready and able to keep up with the older ones in every way.

This summer the fish WERE biting off the dock and from the pontoon. Nothing worth keeping, but that wasn't an issue. Every fish caught was greeted with glee, given a name and entered into their journal! We enjoyed time at the sandy beach at the nearby resort.

The owner, Dan, was very responsive to our questions and requests, before and during our stay. Shortly after telling us he didn't know where to find fresh sweet corn, a car pulled up and someone from his extended family brought us a dozen ears of corn! That kind of says it all, right?

While the cabin is small, the space was adequate for us (4 kids and 2 adults). The beds are comfortable; the kitchen is well-equipped; a variety of games and books are available for keeping the kids entertained when they aren't fishing or riding the raft. Having the pontoon, canoe, boat and kayak included is a huge bonus and makes the price well worth it. Plus being within a stone's throw of the lake is charming!

Beautiful area for our family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This property was a wonderful choice for our extended family vacation. We had a terrible storm the first day there and lost power, but the owners were so nice they went out of their way and brought us a generator to use. The lake views were amazing. We had coffee, fished and swam right off the dock and the pontoon boat was a blast. We had fun pulling the kids behind it on the tube and we all fit comfortably with room left over (there were 7 of us). The boat was by far the best part of the stay. We heard wolves howling in the distance and saw eagles daily along with muskrats and geese and my dad caught Pike and bluegill off the dock and off the boat. No luck for the rest of us though. My only small complaint would be that the air conditioning unit that controls the upstairs is in one of the bedrooms at the end of the house. In order for the other bedroom and the walk through bedroom to have air you would have to keep all the doors open cancelling out the privacy factor. They provided fans and we brought our own as well and it wasn't extremely hot while we were there, so it wasn't a huge issue, but good to know if you're looking to rent it for the first time. They provide plenty of towels, dishes and cookware and the fridge is large with lots of reusable ice packs that came in handy for our cooler between trips to the gas station for ice. There's not much pantry space so we had large tupperware bins to keep our dry goods in. I do have to say the knives were all old and dull. A decent set of steak knives would be nice in the future. The way the bathroom area is set up is great for a large group. Someone could shower and not hold up the facilities for everyone else. Overall this was a great place to stay and we would love to come back again. The price is unbeatable and the owners have really made sure that you have everything you need, are easy to work with and responded quickly to answer all my questions. Thank you so much for letting my family make memories at your cottage!

Peaceful Retreat

  • 4 of 5

Our time at the lake house was relaxing! The lake view is beautiful! We enjoyed our stay and especially the opportunity to use the pontoon boat to do a little fishing. The highlight was seeing two bald eagles fly over the lake to the nearby evergreen trees. Dan was great, easy to reach and very helpful. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. A great place for a family get-away!
