About the property

4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths with hiking hills and small lakes (220 acres)

Newly renovated ranch home located in the rolling hills of Springville California. This four bedroom 2 1/2 bath home has spectacular views of the Sierra mountains, small lakes to swim and fish in, citrus groves and hills with hiking trails and horses. You are not just renting a beautiful home but over 200 acres of ranch property to enjoy and explore. Enjoy the views from every room and the large wooden deck which looks over the tops of the orange trees. On cool winter nights warm yourself by the large rock fireplace. On hot summer days cool down by swimming in the lake and the house has ample air conditioning. Visit the town of Springville (just one mile away) which is a quaint little country town nestled in a small valley at the base of mountain peaks that reach to over 10,000 feet. Drive to the giant sequoia trees at Balch Park, just one hour away. During most of the year you can pick fresh fruit from the citrus trees, oranges, grapefruit and lemons. Hiking the hills next to the house and you can feed carrots to the horses that rome it. Enjoy the fresh air, serenity, quiet and beauty. Take a break from TVs but it does have high speed wi-fi. Farm house has a large sunken living room with large windows with mountain views and a connected dining room, large kitchen with new appliances and attached family area with another table for playing cards or eating meals, all with spectacular mountain views. In addition, the garage was transformed to a game room in 2015 with a quality pool table, darts and air hockey. It's a great place to play.

About Steve

The ranch has been in the family since 1966, focussing on citrus. We grow some of the best oranges and grapefruit found anywhere. The ranch house was built in 1985 and recently renovated. Now we want to share this special place with others.

Steve purchased this farmhouse in 1966

Why Steve chose Sequoia, Kings Canyon

Dad picked the most beautiful ranch with three small lakes for fishing and swimming, large hills for hiking, citrus groves and spectacular mountain views. This has now been passed down to us.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Go on a day hike through the groves, hike the hills and swim across the lake while never leaving your property.

Beautiful family rental located in the middle of a ranch!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in the home. We had 3 generations staying with 7 people. It was perfect. Beautiful home and property. Felt very homey and everyone felt very relaxed. Loved the horses. My 3 children loved how friendly they were and even my daughter who is in a wheelchair loved meeting and feeding carrots to them. Fruit from trees tasted wonderful. I really liked that there was a handicapped bar by toilet in master bedroom. It was very helpful and the bathroom was beautiful. Loved the ponds. We found that it took us 90 minutes to get to gate of Sequoia National Park. We might have ended up on a longer route, but the drive was peaceful and beautiful. Great vacation home for families. Kids loved playing pool too. I highly recommend it.

We spent a wonderful long weekend at the house. We enjoyed its specular views, the swimming/fishing ponds and a very sweet downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Unwind. Destress.

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a tremendous time on your property... stunning views, great fishing for my little guy, so much fun on the rope swing in the pond, and let's not forget to mention the gorgeous horses who came to say hi each evening. It was peaceful and relaxing, and yet at the same time the kids had enough to occupy themselves.

The house itself is great too. All in all, a wonderful property. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to be back soon!

beautiful, comfortable and unique

  • 5 of 5

The home and surrounding property is very, very beautiful. It offers gorgeous views from just about every vantage point. The home is spacious, welcoming and very comfortable. We spent our evenings lounging about and playing pool and darts in the garage/game room. The deck is really nice for eating outdoors and stargazing. The ranch is big, with plenty of trails to hike and explore the surrounding hills and orchards. There are several ponds, the main one being the most accessible. We fished, but opted out of swimming. A local tenant said her kids love to swim in the pond. We were hoping to use a boat, canoe or kayak, but did not come across a usable one (not too big a deal for us). The location is really good. You feel secluded, but certainly not isolated. The city of Porterville is close enough for grocery runs, dining, etc. Sequoia National Park is about an hour away. It does take another hour or so to drive into/through the park to actually see the Giant Sequoias, but it's definitely worth the trip. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.
