House is very clean and well maintained with a beautiful garden with fruit trees and vegetables which the owners allowed us to have. Owners are very friendly and helpful giving us all the local info and booking restaurants for us. Thanks very much for our enjoyable stay. Will defintely stay here again.

Joao and Eldibranda are excellent hosts. They had suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. Their property is beautiful. The garden is a great place to relax. We loved sitting outside sharing a bottle of wine and enjoying the sunset.

If you book the 5 senses cottage you will not be disappointed. It is beautiful, centrally located, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. John and Eldi are what you would want a host to be in every way. It is so much better than a hotel. They are great people. We read the other reviews before we booked our stay and decided to stay here because of those reviews. We know online reviews can be kind of unreliable sometimes so we expected to be surprised by some things. The thing is that we were not at all disappointed in any way and the reviews were legit!! We had the best time and the cottage was one of the best things about our stay on the island. Do not hesitate. Go here. Book here and be done with it. These are wonderful people. John and Eldi, we appreciate so much how ya'll run your business and how we were treated. John, you are a good man. Eldi, you are an amazing woman. We are proud to call you friends. The BEST on the entire island! Nothing compares!

From the moment I started emailing John and Eldi, they were so welcoming. Upon arriving, they made sure we had everything we needed for our trip to be awesome AND the place and yard are truly EXTRAORDINARY! While the rental says breakfast is not included...it is if you do your own picking and cooking! The garden just steps from your door offers a variety of veggies, fruits and herbs. We had salad everyday, fresh herbs to put in the eggs (they have chickens and fresh eggs each morning!!!), I could squeeze fresh orange juice from the orange trees each morning....truly this was such a gift! Everyday Eldi would surprise us with our bed made, the place tidied and beautiful flowers in the living room. This couple really know how to make guests feel welcome and taken care of. I have stayed in quite a few VRBO's over the years and while others were pretty great....NOTHING compares to this incredible experience and incredible people we rented from. The rental is unique and sooooo comfortable! The place is perfect in size and has everything we needed! Outside there is a beautiful sitting area, hammock, and barbeque if we wanted to really cook dinner ourselves! The location is also great to go explore the whole island without having to drive very far! It is pretty central to everything and if you want the experience of living with the locals....this is it! My husband and I cannot wait to come back and will book our travel around what is available at Quintas dos Sentidos to be here with John and Eldi!

Relax and enjoying- here is the right place+family

We had a perfect vacation! A very friendly Family and a good accomodation. We were like new family members and lived in an old wine house. It was surrounded by their own big garden with a lot of fruits and vegetables, which you could pick if you want to. That is why it is called 5 Senses garden. In the clean house you had everything you need and it was really comfortable: Kitchen( with everything what you need), a tv, books, good sleeping room and a great bathroom. Of course you can be outside too, and even use the grill for Barbecue or the fruits and so on. You could see, that everything was made with love. We had fresh towels and sheets often. If you want to you can also do the laundry. It was a wonderful place: Very, very calm and good to relax. Not far from the sea (about 10-15 minutes if you walk) and from Ponta Delgada (10 minutes with the car, about 25 minutes with the bus) and also the Airport. There are also natural pools at the sea (20 minutes if you walk). Of course you had different bus stops in the near, so can visit also almost everything with the bus, if you don't rent a car. The Family was very, very friendly and we talked a lot. They cared really about us. If you have any questions, ask them and they will answer for everything. They helped us, when we wanted to visit several cities and places, they gave us a lot of Information about different and interesting places, which we visited ,also about the bus timetable and Special Price when we rent a car for 3 days. That was really useful for us, because of course we didn't know as much as they do. They welcomed us also with a great lunch and dinner, because the Shops were closed at that day, and we hadn't Food. We could also taste some vine and liqueur which was made by them some day, when they had their wine yard. Now they have the old wine house, that should remind at the old times. It was a fantastic stay, the accomodation and the Family is perfect. We had a great, funny and relaxing time. We will come back to the Azores one day and we will definitly stay here. We couldn't imagine a better accomodation and "host Family"! We just can recommend the 5 Senses Garden to you.

Sommerurlaub im Paradies

Wir haben mit unseren beiden Kindern zwei wundervolle Wochen hier verbracht. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr hilfreich, haben uns mit zahlreichen Ausflugstipps unterstützt und wir haben die Bananen und das Gemüse aus dem eigenen Garten sehr genossen. Das Grundstück und das Apartment sind mit viel Liebe gestaltet worden, ein kleines Paradies. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

It was great - einfach wunderschön!

Wir haben hier ein paar sehr schöne Tage verbracht. Das Appartement ist sauber und mit vielen liebevollen Details eingerichtet. Der Garten ist wunderschön - ein toller Ort zum Entspannen. Wenn man kochen möchte, darf man sich an dem Gemüse und den Kräutern im Garten bedienen. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.

The hosts Eldi and John were very welcoming and helpful with many suggestions of things to do. The property was beautiful and centrally located between two of the main mountains with a natural swimming pool beach area a 3 minute drive away. The fresh tomatoes, fruit, port and eggs were a tasty bonus. The unit had everything we needed. It felt like a home away from home and we would strongly recommend it.

Just as wonderful as th first time.

We stayed in this wonderful place in the beginning of our trip and fell in love because of its charm, wonderful hosts and amazing veggie garden. We left for awhile to visit some ofthe other island and then retuned to finish up our trip. When we returned to it I have to say what I appreciated most about it was it’s comfortable bed. We slept better here than anywhere. My favorite bed on this trip for sure. I really wish we could have stayed longer and took more advantage of the garden. We love making our own meals with fresh local ingredients! Nice outside sitting area too. Thank you guys so much for making us feel at home! Vicki and Dean

Charmingly Rustic with Amenities

We loved our stay with Jon and Eldi. Everything in the cottage is homemade and adorable You have the run of the property to pick your vegetables. We got fresh eggs from their chickens in the morning and the kitchen is equipped to make meals which is great because we are vegetarians and love to do our own cooking when we travel. They are both very open and friendly too. They really care about their clients which means a lot. We will be bookending our trip with them this year and are ready looking forward to seeing them again.

Vacances inoubiables

Accueil très sympathique, par des personnes ( Sr Joao e Sra Eldibranda ) qui vous mettent à l'aise et en confiance ...les réservations demandées, la petite maison, le jardin, les conseils pour profitez au mieux de l'ile, etc..tout était parfait.... Visitei a Ilha de São Miguel pela primeira vez e tive muita sorte em ter ficado alojado na Quinta dos Sentidos. É um alojamento excelente em todos os sentidos, com toda a qualidade e comodidade para se usufruir de umas excelentes férias. Muito bem decorada, com um estilo único. Encontrámos duas pessoas que em muito contribuíram para a nossa opnião positiva, pois foram incansáveis na simpatia. Foram muito além de tudo o que podíamos pedir e sentimos que não alugámos apenas um alojamento, mas sim sentimo-nos em casa entre amigos. É um alojamento excelente em todos os sentidos, com toda a qualidade e comodidade para se usufruir de umas excelentes férias. Muito bem decorada, com um estilo único. Encontrámos duas pessoas que em muito contribuíram para a nossa opnião positiva, pois foram incansáveis na simpatia. Foram muito além de tudo o que podíamos pedir e sentimos que não alugámos apenas um alojamento, mas sim sentimo-nos em casa entre amigos.
