Amazing Location With Great Views

The garden with pool is lovely and many great outdoor spaces. The house is a combination of rustic and modern. Older part of house has charm whereas the new areas have large windows, and remodeled bathrooms. Marcos did a fantastic job communicating with us and gave outstanding info on stores, restaurants and activities. A car is required and about an hour away from the beginning of the Douro valley wine region.

Couples get away

Stunning views and great location. Beautiful home and grounds. Lots of nearby restaurants and a Super Mercado. Marcos was a great host. Very good communication, and his welcome information package was very useful and detailed. The home was well equipped and although there were only 4 of us, it obviously can handle large groups. Thank you Marcos!

Amazing View

We really loved the deck overlooking the river. Nice fresh air and a great place to hang with friends. We took lots of day trips from here and Marcos was great about sharing restaurant ideaa with us. Would stay again.

The view!!!

Amazing view and lovely quiet area. We found a couple of local restaurants with delicious home cooked food and really cheap! Lovely local boat trips, we went twice. Marcos was really good at communicating and the property is big and well equipped.

Peaceful retreat

Marcos provided prompt feedback right from our first enquiries. The property is just as pictured - beautiful views great outdoor areas and space for everyone. Recommend having a car though both for shopping and sight seeing

Wonderful property with incredible views. Manuela was so very helpful and happy to show the house. I could easily have slept in the living just for it's views. Maybe next time.

Peaceful

There are no houses visible on this side of the river. The view to the other side is incredible. The location is quiet and peaceful. The owner was very accommodating and any of our needs were met quickly. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a beautify place to stay in the valley.

First of all the view is as stunning as on the photos and Marcos is a fantastic host.The house is a good location overlooking the river between Porto (1h10mins) and the central wine region (1h45mins). Hiring a car from the airport and driving around Porto and region was all very easy and the autoroutes are amongst the best in the world.Unfortunately, we were very unlucky with rubbish weather at the end of October so the unheated pool wasn't used, which was a shame.We did have a bit of confusion around the bed arrangements and Marcos has been made aware of listing issues. If not updated there are 3 bedrooms, all of which had a double bed and single futon and one also had a bunk bed (so suitable for a family of 5). There is also a sofa bed in the lounge.Its a stunning house and location. I actually think Marcos could charge a lot more money with a few relatively small improvements. 1) Upgrade and standardise bed sheets and kitchenware so its bit less of a mish mash and a bit more luxury, 2) Replace the TV with a smart TV for access to netflix etc..., especially as the wifi is excellent 3) Provide a few more cooking and cleaning essentials and maybe a bottle of local wine on arrival. We bought and left a lot behind but i think that the previous guests possibly cleared everything out.It was a wonderful stay, despite being very unlucky with the weather and hopefully these bits are helpfull to adding more value to your property in the future. Thank you Macos!

wunderschönes Domizil am Douro

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen und erholsamen Urlaub von 14 Tagen in dem Ferienhaus. Es liegt ca. eine Autostunde von Porto aus am Douro. Bereits im Vorfeld war die Kommunikation mit Marcos, dem Eigentümer vorbildlich ! Exakte Anfahrtbeschreibung erhalten, so dass es kein Suchen gab. Marcos hat sich sehr um unser Wohlbefinden gekümmert, durch regelmässige whattsapps und er hat uns auch unterstützt, dort wo wir selbst nicht weiterkamen. Das Haus liegt wunderschön am Douro auf einem sehr großen Grundstück und ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Toller Blick aus dem Wohnzimmer und von der Terrasse auf den Douro. Die Terrasse kann mit den Sonnensegeln sehr gut beschattet werden. Der Pool ist sehr sauber und ausreichend groß. Gerne haben wir auch den Outdorr-Grill genutzt. Das Haus liegt abseits der Hauptstrasse, so dass man keinen Strassenlärm hat. Restaurants, Supermärkte und Bäcker sind im Radius von ca drei Kilometern gut erreichbar. es war wunderbar erholsam und wir kommen bestimmt einmal wieder

Fantastic experience

Truly exceptional owner and property. Comes as advertised, pictures do not do this place justice. Host was so responsive and organized. Went above and beyond to make sure we made the most of our stay. This is an example of how a VRBO should be run. We hope to come back again for a longer stay! As vistas, seja do deck externo quanto da sala, são maravilhosas. O anfitrião foi sempre muito atencioso e disponível. Ofereceu informações locais e agendou visitas para nós. O staff também foi muito atencioso e disponível. Outro ponto interessante é a proximidade com o centro de Souselo, com acesso a farmácia, mercado, bomba de gasolina, etc.

traumhafte Lage

Wie schon mehrfach erwähnt, und auf den Bildern ersichtlich, kann man die Lage des Anwesens nur als traumhaft bezeichnen. Man kann sich nicht satt sehen. Das Haus hat alles was man benötigt (wir haben uns allerdings einige Weingläser gekauft, weil die im Haus vorhandenen aus Plastik sind, wohl wegen Bruchgefahr) Die Kommunikation und Hilfsbereitschaft von Marcos ist wirklich überragend. An unserem Ankunftstag gegen 20:00 ließ sich ein Wasserhahn nicht mehr schließen. Marcos organisierte, am Samstagabend, einen Klempner, der den Wasserhahn ersetzte. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und man ist mit dem Auto in 5 Minuten im kleinen Örtchen Souselo, wo es einen hervorragenden Bäcker und einen erstaunlich gut bestückten, kleinen Supermarkt gibt. Porto oder das Meer erreicht man in ca. 1 h Fahrzeit. Wir waren 3 Personen und hatten dementsprechend Platz im Überfluss. Aber auch mit 6 Personen muss man sich nicht einschränken. Wenn wir wieder in dieser Gegend Urlaub machen, dann genau in diesem Haus. Es ist einfach perfekt und zu 100% zu empfehlen.

Amazing villa in the Douro

Superb property, impeccably clean, great view, private pool, lots of space, well-equipped kitchen. What more can you ask? Owner was quick to respond to any message, gave us local recommendations, and overall it was a stress-free, 5 star experience. Highly recommended!

I fell in love immediately the framework of the Fifth .... I walked about 2 years in research and visits to properties in Gerês and Douro until ...... fell in love with this.

Total exclusivity, no neighbors, only privacy, fully facing west (which is essential to make the most hours of sun and the pool). Maximum comfort, after a careful restoration and down to the smallest detail. Ideal for children, and lots of mobility for all, it has a road (new and very large), since the beginning of the property to the garden and pool area.
Supermarkets, restaurant, pharmacy, cafe, bank, petrol station, etc ... just 3 Kms away
