Fireplace is now fully operational. As of September 2017

Ocean front with views of the Monterey Bay facing South toward Monterey. Currently the condo is undergoing some renovations. We are currently working on replacing the flooring with new carpet and re-painting the whole condo. Once new photos are available they will be posted. Shorebirds 196 is located on the 3rd floor which is ideal for maximizing the view but please be aware there is a flight of about 16 steps from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor.

Great view and that is about it!

This rental has a great view of the ocean, beach, and dunes. The rest of the house was less than desirable. Everything was dirty, the floor, the couch, the chair, all the dishes, the kitchen, the rotten expired food in the cupboard. The condemned fireplace that was advertised as working. (The staff told me it has been condemned for over a year now) All this place needs is a little TLC if the owner would put in a little effort they would have a million dollar rental! On a positive note, I did complain to the owner who quickly sent over a crew to fix the smaller issues. But we are still not happy, will not rent from them again. Beware before you rent from them too!

Owner's Response: Dear Kristen, Since your review we have purchased new linen and comforter for the queen bed. We have done a deep cleaning of the property and had the carpets cleaned. The fireplace went through a standard cleaning in March and was found in need of repairs. I'm very sorry you were not able to enjoy it and I have updated the listing for future guests. I understand you would not like to rent with us again but should you find yourself in need of some beach time and if you would be willing to give us another chance our team would great appreciate the chance to impress you.
