About Patricia Gohlke

This property has been in our family since 1966. My parents built the house in 1974 and loved the woods and river for many years. We as a family spent many 4th of Julys on the Middle Bosque River camping and swimming. My father could be heard saying late on a summer afternoon, 'Let's go to 'the Bosque' when it was time to go cool off in the Middle Bosque River after a long hot day of work. That's how our name began. So share in the pleasure and fun with us and come for a visit at 'The Bosque'.

Patricia Gohlke purchased this house in 2014

Why Patricia Gohlke chose Crawford

We bought the family land in 2014 and began a total remodel of the house and surrounding areas. It's been a lot of work but also a lot of fun and satisfaction.

What makes this house unique

A real family home to be used for weekends or vacation where you and your family can feel at home and enjoy your time at 'The Bosque'. You can walk in the woods, or to the river, fish and just enjoy the changing leaves as you relax and unwind at 'The Bosque'.

Fabulous Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our family (8 adults & 7 children) met and stayed here over Christmas 2017. We had a fabulous time in this lovely home that was beautifully decorated inside and out for the holidays and was very warm, welcoming and clean. With three dining tables, there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy sit-down meals together and to play games on. There were plenty of bath and kitchen linens and paper and other miscellaneous supplies. The kitchen was filled with plenty of china and glassware, and included holiday dishes just for our stay. The laundry facilities made it easy to keep up with the laundry for our large group. There was plenty of room for everyone to hang out without feeling crowded, and the kids absolutely loved playing in the great outdoors. We enjoyed several evenings around the fire pit, and even had a wiener and marshmallow roast and s'mores. Riding the Gator around the property was fun for both the adults and kids alike. The preparation for guests and Texas hospitality was shown in numerous ways, and ensured that we felt very relaxed and cared for during our stay. There were even extra toiletries in case we forgot something. Our Christmas was very homey, and didn't feel like we were in a stranger's home at all. This place was larger and more beautiful than the pictures show, and we were very favorably impressed. The only things that didn't work as well for us were: the smallness of the bathroom in the downstairs bedroom suite, no bathtubs for the kiddos in any bathrooms, and the amount of stuff stored in the cabinets, laundry, and closets that could use some better organization. There are tons of glassware (for weddings?), which kind of take over the kitchen, and make it difficult for the regular kitchen baking dishes/pans, mixing bowls, and additional appliances to be organized and for the kitchen to be efficient. Except for the large kitchen peninsula, which was great for serving meals buffet style, there was not a lot of kitchen counter space. There is also a lot of décor and breakables throughout the house, so we had to be careful with kiddos around. All in all, though, we would definitely stay here again, and we would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy the outdoor spaces when it's not so cold. Thank you so much, Patricia and The Bosque, for enabling us to have a wonderful family Christmas filled with memories that we will treasure!

This property is the perfect family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We visited Bosque for our 40th anniversary with our family of 6 adults and 4 young children. The house is simply beautiful and had everything we needed. Patricia was an amazing and accommodating host. She checked in on us and even fulfilled our last minute request for a high chair. But the real highlight for our family was the amazing outdoors. We hiked and explored, skipped rocks, took the gator out, built fires, ate s’ was like camping but with a beautiful cozy home for eating and sleeping. We’re all excited about the possibility of returning someday.

Lots of room inside and out!

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our children and grandchildren (10 of us) and cooked our entire meal together. Then we roamed the property hiking and in the Gator. We took family pictures in the most beautiful outdoor setting. And we’re considering making this a family tradition. This property had everything we needed to make our get together very special. We will be talking about this adventure for years!

The Bosque is beautiful.

We rented this wonderful home Oct. 22 - Oct. 28, 2017. First impression: Unbelievable!! When we walked in the front doors, our jaws dropped. We vacationed here with two other couples, and we all agreed that this house was the BEST we could have hoped for. The owners of this ranch home were so friendly, helpful and caring. I highly recommend this home for anyone with a large group (weddings-reunions-holidays). Plenty of room inside & out. We loved being able to use the Gator, and the resident cats were very entertaining. We also liked the location.....near enough to Waco (our main reason to vacation here), but with the peace & quiet of country living. The pictures don't do justice to what this home really looks like. The fall decorations were really great. The majority of our meals were cooked/eaten at the ranch. It was nice to be able to sit around the fire-pit most nights and just relax.

We did the Magnolia Market/Bakery (YUM), Waco Tours (would highly recommend this...lots of fun), Escape Room of Waco (nope, we couldn't get out in the allotted 60 minutes), Dr. Pepper Museum (very interesting), Texas Rangers Museum and the Suspension Bridge. We basically did a lot of exploring of Waco & the area around the Bosque ranch.

We enjoyed our time spent at The Bosque. Thanks Patricia, Gary & son......

Fantastic Perfect Weekend Spot

  • 5 of 5

What a great place for our family weekend. Upon arrival everything was absolutely as promised. Everything was clean and perfect. Every item we needed was there and in good working order. Absolutely beautiful setting and remote but convenient to Waco for our planned activities. Patricia our host was just amazing. She promptly answered all our questions before and during our visit. She even called us 5 minutes after our departure to let us know the cleaning crew had found 3 items we had left behind, so we were able to return and pick them up. Just really cordial and helpful folks. We will no doubt return in the future. 5 stars for sure. Many thanks to Patricia and Gary--Norris

The Bosque is such an amazing home!! We came to Waco for our sons wedding and had 11 people in the house which included 2 young grand kids. We could not believe how well stocked this house was! Not only did Patricia have Keurig cups for us but I found garlic salt in the pantry that I needed for dinner one night! Everything was super clean, lots of hangers, tissues, shampoo, etc., which I have not found in other VRBO's. In fact, I packed our own facial tissues and didn't need them. It is so peaceful out here. Absolutely lovely home inside and out. We loved the patio and pavillion although it was SUPER hot the week we stayed. We had 22 family over for a bbq our last night and there was enough seating, at tables in the great room, for everyone!! LOVED taking out the gator and seeing our first Texas longhorns. Patricia even brought over a walker for my father in law! She was SO attentive and kind and answered my requests immediately! For us city dwellers, it was a tad out of the way but definitely worth it !! Our daughter commented that the pictures on VRBO don't do it justice. Come on and book it y'all - you won't regret it !!!!
