Retreat away from it all on over six acres of hill country property, located in the middle of the tri -towns of Wimberley, Blanco. and Dripping Springs. This country stone cottage is nestled among oak trees at the foot of a hill. Sit on the back deck and watch the deer and birds, walk to the wet weather creek, or sit around the fire pit and star gaze. The quiet neighborhood provides a great scenic walk along the country road, viewing the Devil's Backbone.
The house has a large master bedroom suite which features a catheral ceiling and includes a garden tub and separate shower. Enjoy a spacious den with cathedral ceiling and iron stove fireplace. The two guest bedrooms share a hallway bathroom. Dine on the back deck or on outdoor tables under the trees.

The property is between 3 towns: Wimberley, 15 miles; Blanco, 12.5 miles, and Dripping Springs, 18.5 miles. The closest grocery store is in Blanco, 12 miles away. There are libraries in both Wimberley and Blanco. Wimberley has one of the best swim holes in the country: The Blue Hole. Wimberley hosts a flea market the first weekend of every month. Wimberley has an outdoor movie theater, the Corral Theater, which shows movies in the summer. The Emily Ann outdoor Theatre hosts plays; there is also an indoor playhouse. There is live music every weekend in Wimberley and sometimes in Blanco; check the internet. There is a C&W dancehall in Dripping Springs; about a 20 minute drive. There are several local wineries.

About the owner: I live in the Montrose area of Houston, Texas with my two sons, ages 18 and 20, dog Axel, and cat, Sophie. I am a Louisiana native, and moved to Texas at age 22.
Why the Owner Chose Wimberley, TX, USA:
My family bought the property when our sons were 5 and 7 years old. Having grown up in small towns in Louisiana, Houston has always overtaken me. I wanted a quiet place to take the boys, so that they could roam around and be outdoors. I knew I wanted property in the hill country, and looked between Vanderpool and Wimberley for two years. We chose Wimberley because friends moved there. I thought I wanted a grand hill view. However, I am a tree lover and privacy freak as well. The hill view properties that we looked at didn't have many trees and felt exposed. The minute I saw the property, I knew it was THE ONE. There are beautiful rolling hills leading up to the property - great views surrounding the neighborhood. The property itself has a strand of trees in the front, with the house set back about mid-way, so it is very private. There are oaks surrounding the property, with a pasture that leads to the creek. Across the creek is a bluff. Walking to the top of the bluff provides a beautiful view of the hills. For me, this property has everything I want: seclusion, quiet, trees, hills and sometimes, water!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
I fell in love with this property because of the trees, quiet, privacy, and surrounding hills. My favorite morning coffee spot is to sit on the adirondack bench which looks into a cathedral of trees, with a view of the pasture. My favorite ritual is to walk the perimeter of the property, climb up the bluff and sit on a rock to look at the hills, and slosh through the creek when it is running. There is a table under oak trees for dining. The covered back porch provides a great reading nook, or a place to sit and enjoy the breeze and sound when it is raining. On a clear night, there is a fantastic star view. The neighborhood country roads are quiet and safe for walking or bikeriding, while looking at the surrounding trees, hills, and creeks...or walking with someone you love!
