Relaxing, great location, comfortable cottage.
A friend and I were looking for an affordable place close to Santa Barbara with ocean views and this property was just right. We cooked most of our meals in the more than adequate kitchen, enjoyed the patio, and easy walks to the beach for sunrise and sunset. Ian was responsive with questions. For two people there was enough privacy with the sleeping arrangements and the beds were comfortable too. I recommend this cottage!
Fine for price, but a little dilapidated and smelled like dog
Overall, the house was livable for a couple days, however I couldn't get over the wet dog smell. The description said Pets Welcome, but I dont think it said that when I booked it (might have said, Pets Considered). The downstairs has a combo of a wet dog, musky, dank smell, so I couldn't sleep there, especially when there was no air conditioning or air movement. On the top floor was airy, however you could tell that it was in need of repairs and owners were potentially putting off some remodeling. All the screens dont fit well, so there are bugs coming in. The downstairs screen has a hole, and the upstairs screens aren't fitted, so bugs come through the sides.
On the good side, the kitchen was well stocked and had what I needed. The washer and dryer were outside but I was little afraid to do it at night when we were home since i recently saw an opposum lingering outside the house. Close to the beach so that was nice.
Overall, you get what you pay for - it's on the inexpensive side for the area, but you're also getting a 2 star place. The owner was very nice and responsive.
Super cute, cozy and comfortable
If you love views, an ocean breeze, and a short walk to a secluded beach plus a few great restaurants and shops nearby, then this is it. A few miles from downtown Santa Barbara and a short jaunt on the frontage road to Carpinteria, Summerland is an ideal location. The house itself is cute, clean, warm and welcoming. Comfortable, cool, plus updated artistic touches and decor. We hated to leave, but we will be back!
Great and even had AC which was needed.
Fabulous immaculately clean incredible views and excellent location.
Best Deal In Santa Barbara
We love it here. We have come back five or six times in the last few years. It's so adorable and well run. We love the location and the neighborhood and it's just a short drive from anywhere you need to go.
Very nice place in a very nice neigborhood. Everything was just as promised in the advert. Highly recommended.
