Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4. 2 beds guest room, 1 bed master, 1 in livng rm

This property is a cozy cabin on a hillside nestled in the pines with an unbelievable view! This cabin is very secluded, yet iti is in the Village of Cloudcroft. There are lovely views of mountain splendor even inside the cabin through the large picture window. There is a spacious deck for relaxing, viewing and cooking and dining!

The living area is an open area which houses the kitchen, dining area and living area. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. The amenities are described herein, however suffice it to say the owners have everything that a lodger needs to have a memorable stay.

The Lodge golf course is a public course. The tee box for the first hole is within a 9 iron away! The course is a blast! It is very affordable and family friendly! Compare to the courses in Ruidoso. The back deck of the house provides an amazing view of the 7th fairway of the Course.

The cabin is next to the road with ample parking. However, the well lighted stairway takes you a good distance from the road where the cabin is in the middle of the woods with a perfect, unspoiled view. Yet, there are stores, restaurants, shops, a gas station, etc. just minutes away.

Great bird watching from the deck where you are level with the tree tops! The lot on the west is a frequent deer hangout and crossing. Elk have been seen crossing through on either side of the cabin as well. It is an amazing place for wildlife. There are houses close by but not next door!

You will be very excited at this cabin and be refreshed after your stay! Thanks for looking!

Why Tip & Brenda Kirwan chose Cloudcroft

This property is right in town, on the golf course, yet it is in the woods and very secluded and serene! This is a very unique situation! There is wildlife that goes through the woods near the cabin. Lots of birds including hummingbirds (in the summer) to be viewed from the spacious deck. Just a couple of minutes from downtown! Also, 2 minutes away from the golf course which is fun and affordable.

What makes this cabin unique

Great views of scenery and wildlife from all over the property even though you are in the middle of Cloudcroft and a chip away from the golf course! The Lodge golf course is very fun, extremely affordable and family friendly.

Perfect mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place so much! It was clean, cozy, well-decorated and had everything guests would need for a comfortable stay. The A/C was really nice to have in August too. My favorite part is the porch. Such a beautiful view of the trees and golf course. Every day we saw some sort of wildlife, which was pretty cool for city folks like us. Owners were very helpful with information on where to eat and what to do while you're in town and surrounding areas. Highly recommend this place for couples visiting Cloudcroft and I can't wait to book our next trip!

The value offered here is off the charts. A Cloudcroft get-away vacation is one of life's pleasures; the summertime temps are so pleasant, light afternoon showers, cool overnight temperatures, and quiet surroundings. As a long weekend retreat for a couple, Cloudcroft is difficult to beat. Factor in a cute main street area, reasonable prices for food and drinks and tourist numbers on the low side, easily accessible light hiking and you have the makings of a get-away winner. We did the Mexican Canyon railroad trestle hike from the town side and the Bridal Veil Falls hike outside of High Rolls, NM (halfway down the mountain to the west). The Bridal Veil Falls hike is a 'rails-to-trails' hiking path and is super easy when approached from the west. The falls are spring-fed and it was running with reasonable volume in August. This hike is nice because you're in the Chihuahuan Desert and the change from an alpine area to the desert is really interesting and it is only 8 miles west of Cloudcroft.

The cabin is everything that everyone else has said; fully outfitted for whatever you might want to do (grilling, wood fire, home-style cooking...) However, there are a couple of things that make this cabin almost unbeatable in my opinion, first it is at the end of a cul-de-sac so there's absolutely no one driving by, and second is that the deck / balcony area is quite large but at least half of the east-facing side is covered. We experienced short afternoon showers each day we were there in August and the fact that you can sit outside on the deck protected from the showers while enjoying the view is outstanding.

The walk from the cabin to the downtown area is easy and you're treated to views of the White Sands National Monument to the west for a bit at about halfway to main street. We also were able to watch Elk walk through the yard below the balcony almost every morning.

So, again, on a value scale a long weekend stay at this Cloudcroft cabin is a no-brainer, and please, don't tell anyone else...

Owner's Response: Thanks for your incredibly positive review! We’re so glad that you were able to enjoy Peaceful Pines since all of us haven’t been able to get up there as much this year! Although we’ve been to God’s country many times we’ve never been able to figure out where Bridail Veil Falls is! Anyway, we’ll be sure to keep the secret to ourselves- just like y’all did!

Wonderful spot for our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

After rereading these reviews, there is little I can say that hasn’t already been said. It is obvious these owners have tried to think of everything to make their guests happy. I agree with all these favorable comments, so I’ll just add a few wonderful little things we noticed. We felt at home here-very cozy atmosphere. There are nice antique furniture pieces, as well as appliances that seemed brand new. You can open the windows and let in the cool mountain air, and there is a/c and heat for those really warm or cold days. There is lots of room in closets and drawers and ample hangers in the closets! The kitchen, fireplace, and bbq grill are very well stocked. We cooked simple meals while there, and any dishes, cookware, etc. we needed were provided. The cabin was very clean. We watched a few movies in the video collection. There is something for everyone there, along with instructions on how to use the tv/vhs/satellite service for those of us technically-challenged. The WiFi worked consistently great, too. Plenty of towels, hot water, and shower pressure. We spent time walking the neighborhood, and decided this location is the best. You can watch golfers on the Lodge course, elk that come out on the course at dusk, and still feel like you are in the woods. The deck is just great for sipping morning coffee or wine in the evening. We do hope to get back to Cloudcroft, and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!

This cabin was perfect in all respects. Very accessible, quiet, and modern. Beautiful view, well decorated. Cabin was clean and neat upon arrival and just as depicted on the website. Bed was comfortable and inside temperature could be quickly regulated for the varying temperatures of mountain living. Nice hosts! We would not hesitate to stay in this lovely setting again.

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised at this property. This was our first experience with VRBO and can't say enough good things about the entire process. The home was perfect for us! It was quiet, comfortable, well maintained, clean, and it had a great view! I sat on the deck for hours and just listened to the wind sing through the pines, watched the golfers and the occasional deer on the course. I would highly recommend this property if you want to get away from it all without isolating yourself. It's almost at the end of the road so there's no through traffic and it has lots of privacy with trees between it and any other properties.
