About the property

3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 6

Hale Kailani is a plantation-style private home on the ocean bluff in Kauai's beautiful North Shore resort community of Princeville. The entire house looks out through large sliding glass doors and windows onto a magnificent whitewater ocean view. Wide steps lead down from the covered lanai to a sweeping lawn rimmed with Norfolk pines, plumeria trees and coconut palms. A small gazebo sits perched on the bluff for secluded rainbow and sunset watching. The interior decor is tropical with lots of rattan, white wicker and colorful island fabrics. Natural oak paneling covers the walls throughout most of the house. Ceilings are open beam with skylights and ceiling fans.

One bedroom has a king-size bed and adjoining bath with jacuzzi tub and an oversize shower. Another large bedroom has two queen-size beds and a bathroom. The upstairs bedroom with one queen-size bed and adjoining bathroom with shower has a 360-degree view of the ocean, coastline and surrounding mountains.

The house is supplied with everything you will need for comfortable living from beach towels to barbeque. There's a TV, VCR, stereo, telephone, washer, dryer, ironing board, books, games, plenty of linens and a fully equipped kitchen.

All you need to bring is something to wear and a desire for some peaceful relaxation when you come to stay in Hale Kailani, your 'House by the Heavenly Sea'.

Activities nearby: A short drive takes you to Princeville center for plenty of shopping and restaurants, the Princeville Hotel and two of Hawaii's finest golf courses, the 27-hole Mahai and the 18-hole Prince. 7 miles to Hanalei for beaches and great hiking. Here you can also arrange for diving and kayaking on the Hanalei River. A short drive south to Kilauea with its old lighthouse, bird sanctuary, charming shops and restaurants.

five star views at a somewhat rustic beach house

  • 4 of 5

The location of this home is fabulous. You awaken to the birds singing and on the porch you can sometimes hear the waves in the distance. It is quite pleasant to hang out on the back porch or at the gazebo until mid-afternoon, which we did several days. Later in the day, the July afternoon sun chased us to somewhere cooler. The home itself is a bit on the dated side. The kitchen has a nice gas stove which was a pleasant surprise. If you come expecting a nicely maintained older home with great views, you will not be disappointed.

Once in a lifetime experience

  • 5 of 5

The house was amazing and had great energy....you can sense there was a lot of love shared within the walls. I took my entire family and even with my kids being under 2, I really could see them light up a bit more every morning. It opens up to an incredible view of the ocean and Queen's bath and you can hear the waves crashing all day and witness sunsets every night. The house does not have A/C, but this is not uncommon in Hawaii. They mitigate this with plentiful stationary and portable fans. The house is on a cul-de-sac at the end of a beautiful neighborhood. Plenty of towels, beach chairs and amenities to allow for a seamless transition to your new home. The property management group were pleasant to work with.

OLDIE BUT GOODIE

  • 4 of 5

This is an older home, that hasn't been updated. Good bones and a fantastic ocean view, and back lanai. House surprisingly stocked with everything you need for the beach. Thanks! Perfect location for us to unite with our youngest son, while on Spring Break from college. Loved the area and accessibility to Hanalei. Great Sunday Market in Princeville. New pillows would bring us back! S & J, Palm Desert, CA
