My Wife and I (Derrick and Roxanne) along with my brother and his wife (Travis and Sage) decided to embark on an adventure and build our oceanfront dream house. It was completed in 2014 in the beautiful low country of South Carolina on Harbor Island. We purposefully built our home with guest's creature comforts in mind. We wanted it to feel like you are sitting at home on your comfortable sofa while you're watching the waves crawl upon the shore outside your back porch. We built our home and had a very successful and fun 2 1/2 years and then along came Hurricane a Matthew. Our home was built so well it survived but we needed to rebuild much of it. Also, after the storm we had lost our dunes and needed to find a new lot on the island. We were blessed to be able to move our home to the best lot on the island. Built back to brand new and relocated. We are now at the sparsely populated north end of the island with views to die for. I am truly awestruck every time I walk into our home. Breathtaking vistas is not a strong enough statement to describe the beauty surrounding it. We love to spend as much time as we can there (living in Georgia we are only a short drive away) and we know you will love it too. We try to make sure that when you step into our house, you feel like you are home. We respond quickly to any issue you may have and we live by the motto 'do the right thing all the time.' Building this home has been a dream of my family and my brother's family. Completed in 2014, it is built with the strictest of codes, designed to handle mother nature and keep you comfortable. My brother and I have always loved South Carolina. Being from Georgia, we would take trips annually to our neighboring state and enjoy her beauty and hospitality, food and golf. MILLION DOLLAR VIEWS EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK! No need to fight over who has the best room. Each one offers unique and awe inspiring views of the ocean, sound, river or marsh. Just steps out the back door onto your private boardwalk, brings you to one of South Carolina's most serene and untouched beaches. Dolphins make their morning and evening swim just outside of your porch. Shrimp boats ply their trade every morning just after sunrise. Harbor Island itself is recognized by the Audubon Society with it's teaming birdlife. Logger Head turtles nest on the shores every year. Truly an amazing island. This is why we built here and this is why our house is the perfect place to bring your family for a lifetime of memories. The first time you have your morning coffee on the screened in back porch while watching the dolphins chase the shrimp boats, you will be as hooked as we are. Every room in the house has breathtaking views. The back porches offer the awe inspiring vistas of the sound and the ocean. From the front porch admire the surreal beauty of the low country marsh. The north view gives you the scenic Harbor river bridge and world class sunsets. Absolutely amazing! Beaufort, only a few miles down the road, is the second oldest city in South Carolina and is the very embodiment of a 'Low Country' coastal town. It is so beautiful, many movies were filmed here including 'Forest Gump’, ‘The Prince of Tides' and 'The Big Chill'. If you love golf as much as we do, you will love the many golf course within a few minutes drive. Our house was built to allow not only us to enjoy all the low country has to offer, but you as well.
