A great base to see Arles and surrounding area

A lovingly restored property which was close to the centre and ideal for Luma. The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Would recommend highly

Charming Townhouse

Gerard’s house in Arles is as described both cool (aircon in the bedroom - essential during our summer stay) and quiet (in a neighbourhood about 10 minutes walk from the old town). Gerard kindly collected us from the railway station and dropped us back at the end of our stay. He had baguettes, tapenade and wine waiting in the small but well appointed townhouse. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed exploring all that Arles has to offer, including Luma, which is enroute into town. As a couple, we did find the twin beds a bit uncomfortable and the lack of wifi a bit of a disadvantage but overall had a good stay.

Enjoyed our weeklong stay in this charming townhouse

The Arles townhouse was a great home base for the two of us to spend a week exploring the beauty and history of the Provence region. We were able to park our rental car on the quiet narrow street in front when we returned from our day trips. The terrific host shared some sightseeing recommendations that we worked into our itinerary. Arles has a lot to see (and eat), and the townhouse location is very walkable. We had perfect weather the 4th week in September and were able to enjoy the patio area and open windows.

A most beautiful experience!! Gérard is a true gentleman and an excellent host. We felt he truly cared about our stay in Arles. He met our family at the station, gave us a basic tour of the surrounding area, gifted us thoughtful provisions, and dropped us off at the station. When it seemed as though we would have a delay when leaving, Gérard was extremely accommodating and flexible. He is just a great, friendly guy-- what more can be said? The little house is so beautiful, romantic, and peaceful. It was picture perfect and you will find all necessities for a comfortable stay. It stays cool in the heat as well-- so do not fear if you arrive during the summer. This was a terrific experience all around and I would return again in a heartbeat.

Gîte parfait pour 2 personnes valides (sans doute un peu juste par mauvaise météo). Grande facilité d'accès au centre-ville à pied.Seul bémol : difficulté de stationnement.Arles est par ailleurs très bien situé pour visiter les plus beaux sites de Camargue et ceux de Provence.

Logement très bien situé pour les Rencontres d'Arles, on a pu tout faire à pied matin et soir. Un peu de pluie a permis d'abaisser la chaleur des bâtiments de rue. Les oiseaux passent au lever du soleil venant de la mer et repassent au coucher pour y retourner. Petite cour à l'ombre agréable. Et le propriétaire est disponible et sympathique.

Nettes kleines Haus in fußläufiger Entfernung zur Innenstadt. Sehr netter Empfang durch den Vermieter, der gute Tipps für den Aufenthalt gab. Durch die Klimaanlage im ersten Stock trotz hoher Wärme draußen sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub im provenzalischem Ferienhaus

Gerard’s charmantes Townhouse befindet sich in einer ruhigen Strasse am Rand der historischen Altstadt von Arles mit ihren zahlreichen Kulturstätten und Restaurants, die man fussläufig in wenigen Minuten erreicht. Der Gastgeber hat das zweistöckige Gebäude mit abgeschlossenem Innenhof liebevoll restauriert und mit einer praxistauglichen Einrichtung versehen. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und alle Geräte haben perfekt funktioniert. Schon vor unserer Anreise hat Gerard unsere Fragen zeitnah und detailiert beantwortet und uns bei unserer Ankunft mit einer Flasche Wein, einem leckeren Baguette und einem Blumenstrauss persönlich empfangen - einer einzigartigen Geste in unserer jahrzehntelangen Ferienhausmiethistorie! Auch hat er sich viel Zeit genommen, uns das Haus und die nähere Umgebung zu erklären, was entscheidend dazu beigetragen hat, dass wir uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Unserer Meinung nach ist das Haus fuer 2 Personen gut geeignet. Bei sommerlichen Temperaturen kann man am Nachmittag gut im schattigen Innenhof sitzen und sollte das Wetter einmal nicht mitspielen, macht man es sich im Wohnzimmer gemütlich. Arles und damit dieses Ferienhaus sind ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen per Auto oder Fahrrad in alle Himmelsrichtungen. Wir haben mit unseren mitgebrachten Fahrrädern ausgedehnte Touren in die Camargue, nach Avignon und in Richtung Les Baux/Maussane unternommen.

Perfekter Urlaub in entspannter Atmosphäre

Die Ferienwohnung ist komplett zum Wohlfühlen ausgestattet. Sie liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße und ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für touristische Unternehmungen. Einkauf des täglichen Bedarfs sind ebenso schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen wie das Stadtzentrum mit allen Sehenswürdig-keiten von Arles. Die Menschen sind ausgesprochen freundlich. Das gilt insbesondere für den Gastgeber Gerard Lande. Neben der guten Ausstattung des Ferienhauses lag Material für touristische Ziele bereit. uns fehlte nur eine WLAN - Verbindung um das Internet nutzen zu können. Ansonsten war wirklich an alles gedacht und wir haben uns 2 Wochen lang sehr wohl gefühlt.

Leuk huis met een prachtig ommuurd terras

Het huis was zeer schoon en goed georganiseerd. Ruim genoeg voor twee personen. Boven twee aparte bedden. Uitstekende douche. Van de beperkte mogelijkheden om te koken hebben wij geen gebruik gemaakt. Meerdere restaurants in de buurt. Het huis ligt op loopafstand van het centrum van Arles en is gunstig gelegen om met de auto uitstapjes naar leuke dorpjes in de Provence te maken. Gérard is een vriendelijke gastheer.

Festival an Ostern in Arles

Viel besser als auf den Fotos! Geschmackvoll eingerichtet, ruhig gelegen, schöner Blick vom Balkon, frühstücken mit Morgensonne. Alles da, was man braucht, ideal für 2-3 Personen. Sehr netter, hilfsbereiter Vermieter. Direkt im am LUMA angrenzenden alten Quartier. Von dort aus ist alles in 10min erreichbar. Kann ich nur empfehlen !

Une maison parfaite et très bien localisée

Très belle maison bien équipée, avec une cour et une terrasse très confortables, juste à côté des Alyscamps et de la tour LUMA et très proche du centre ville historique. Parfaite pour un séjour à Arles. L'accueil a été parfait !

Mit dem Auto in der Provence

Das Mietobjekt ist ein niedliches kleines Häuschen in einem zentral gelegenen Arbeiterviertel in Arles. Wir haben die kleine Terrasse ( die Gott sei Dank nur bis 14:00 Uhr Sonne hat ) sehr genossen. Und dass wir auf dem kleinen Innenhof ohne Störungen von Nachbarn täglich wunderbar frühstücken konnten. Wenn man mit Auto reist empfiehlt sich ein Kleinwagen weil die Straßen sehr sehr eng sind und die Beulen & Kratzer der PKWs der Franzosen sprechen eine deutliche Sprache Über ihr Fahrverhalten. Also wir haben uns einen weiter gelegenen Parkplatz gesucht und lieber alles hin und her geschleppt. Der Empfang von Gérard war sehr freundlich und wir haben uns über den Rosé und das erste französische Abendessen sehr gefreut und möchten uns noch mal ganz herzlich bedanken. Auch die Tipps von Gérard waren überaus nützlich. Von Arles kommt man in alle Richtungen gut weg nach überall in der Provence und durch die zwei Fahrräder konnten wir auch die Stadt ganz toll kennen lernen. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Urlaub – nur der Weg zum Meer ist ganz schön weit . Á bientôt. Thomas & Birgit

Maison agréable avec son patio très appréciable.

Maison de ville dans petite rue très calme à 10 mn à pied du centre ville. Balades possibles avec accès des bus et cars assez proches. Hôte très accueillant, à disposition et très à l'écoute.

"Maison située dans un quartier paisible et très tranquille. L''acceuil du propriétaire est superbe avec en plus un petit rosée accompagné de petites douceurs pour souhaiter la bienvenue. Nous avons appréciés la présence sur place de vélos nous permettant de visiter le vieux Arles tout près sans déplacement en auto. La climatisation fût très utiles avec la chaleur du mois d''août."
