The Whitehead Home is a beautiful home built in 1881 located in the historic district of St George within walking distance of 10 restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, historic sites, museum, a charming park with splash pad and water fun for children, a children's museum, and just down the hill from famous Dixie Rock.

The home was recently been preserved and remodeled with all of the latest conveniences. In just the last year, over $90k has been invested in renovations, furniture and amenities to make an amazing family-friendly home. A Vivant alarm system and camera (installed on outside of the home, facing driveway) for your safety.

There is a 12-piece dining set for the dining room, a folding table with 6 chairs, a 7-piece outdoor patio set, and 4 barstools in the kitchen. Most of the furniture has been purchased brand new in the last year including 1 new king semi firm mattress, 6 brand new queen pillowtop mattresses and 5 brand new twin mattresses.

Every room has an ensuite bathroom and 4 of the 6 ensuite bathrooms have separate jetted tubs and showers. Every room also has a flat screen TV with a built in DVD player and cable TV.

The main family room has a brand new 50' LED flat screen TV, Hulu and Netflix, a blue-ray player, and a DVR to record your favorite shows. There are also some DVDs and Blu-rays available. A second small family room is connected to one of the bedrooms that has a 50' flat screen with hulu, netflix, blu-ray player, DVR and a Nintendo Wii Entertainment System.

NOTICE: This is a legal vacation rental approved by the city of St. George with a conditional use permit.

About Rosana Sorensen

My husband and I grew up in the beautiful Napa Valley in northern California and moved to Utah in 1991. We fell in love with renovating old homes after we purchased a run down bungalow on the Provo river and spent a couple years completely renovating it into a charming cottage. Now as owners of the historic Whitehead Home in St. George we look forward to making it a memorable place for others to enjoy. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

Don't you just love the charm of old homes? This home has just undergone a remodel with over $90k being invested, but we are keeping the historical integrity while adding new and modern conveniences. St. George has so much to offer, yet still has the feeling of a smaller town. And this historic home has the best location possible for a traveler. This is in the 'Town Square' of St George. Within 4 blocks you can find 10 restaurants, galleries, historic sights, antique shops, 4 banks, ATMs, parks, museums, hair salons, library, and plenty of shopping. So much to explore just in the neighborhood, but you can also travel a close distance to Zion's National Park, Snow Canyon, Tuacahn Outdoor Theater, 12 golf courses in the area, swimming parks and so much more. The Whitehead Home is also on the St George ironman 70.3 course, Tour de St. George course, and is 2 blocks from the marathon course.

What makes this house unique

This home was built in 1881, yet it has a stainless steel kitchenaid 6-burner cooktop and hood fan, new built-in microwave/oven combo, and updated cosmetics. This property oozes character and is a great gathering place for up to 22 people. Perfect for family reunions, corporate retreats, sporting events, theater events, or home base as you discover the beautiful hiking & biking, golfing, day spas and shopping in St. George. It's located within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, antique shops, galleries, historic sights, summer outdoor market, and a splashed and park for the children.

All This and Handicapped Accessible Too!

Our large family of adults and a couple toddlers had a marvelous Christmas week here. It is so hard to find vacation rentals that are wheelchair (not just "handicapped") accessible, with roll-in shower, wider doorways, and enough turning radius in the bedroom, bathroom, and all main living areas. So because this house has that, I'm leading with it; truly a blessing to our family. But on top of that, we all were able to be comfortable here, because there are enough bedrooms for adult children with their spouses and babies, and we never felt cramped or on top of each other. In addition, there is enough communal living space when you all want to be together, including a large dining room table at which we all could sit for meals or game playing. The house is so charming; you feel welcomed from the very beginning in the generous entry hall with a bench to drop your bundles and stow your shoes. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals (the only thing I missed was my Kitchenaid mixer, but hey...:)). There are toys and accoutrements for the toddlers, so we don't have to pack and carry our own. If it had been summer, I know we would have used the patio and grill outside.The Sorensons were great hosts, immediately responsive to a couple questions we had while there, though we were probably interrupting their Christmas and family time. They even had a Christmas tree put up with ornaments that were baby friendly (yay!) and lights. (Thank you!) Another plus: this house is close to downtown and we took several walks to local businesses. And St. George is small enough that you can drive anywhere in a couple minutes--such a change for those of us used to big-city traffic. All in all, this was a fantastic house for us, and we're so glad we found it!

Wonderful Week End in St George

We have stayed at the Whitehead House 3 times now. The house is always clean and well stocked with all the necessary items. Our family likes the layout where each family has their own bathroom and private space. Roseana is so good to work with. She always make sure you have everything you need before you arrive. We plan on using the house again next year. We call the Whitehead House our St George home away from home.

So comfortable...simply perfect!

Our daughter was having a destination wedding in St George. We wanted a house that would accommodate our family plus all the bridesmaids and spouses. When we found the Whitehead House, we knew it would be perfect. With six ensuite bedrooms, no one had to share a bath which was really nice. The house can accommodate many more people than we had, but we did take advantage of the spacious kitchen/great room, dining room, and patio with the entire wedding party and friends coming by for dinner and just hanging out after the wedding. The house is so perfectly located...right in the center of the historical district, within walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, parks, trails, and it was only a 10 minute drive to our wedding venue. The house is beautifully furnished, even essentials such as shampoo and basic kitchen spices and ingredients. The owner was so responsive and accommodating to our every need. Her response was immediate to every question. We would definitely stay at the Whitehead House again and hope we have the opportunity!

St. George and surrounding area is full of outdoor activities, places to explore and visit, and entertainment. "The unique setting translate to family adventures, luxury spas, extensive shopping, championship golf and nearby outdoor recreation assets unlike anywhere else. In other words, fishing, climbing, canyoneering, biking, hiking, ATV and more — all in the unbeatable climate of beautiful St. George, Utah." In the nearby town of Santa Clara you'll find Tuacahn the outdoor theater. Usually 4 musicals to choose from along with guest musical and comedic entertainers. A short drive east you can visit Zion's national park, with it's breathtaking beauty. Zion's has a variety of hikes, from a leisurely stroll to challenging. You just can't see and do everything in St. George in one trip. You'll want to come back, again and again.
