St. George Adventure
This property is in an excellent location! The owners have thought of every amenity to add to the comfort and charm of this beautiful home! We will most certainly be returning to this wonderful property!
Thanks so much for staying at the Whitehead Home. We are happy you found the home comfortable and enjoyed our detailed amenities. Looking forward to having you all again.
A perfect rental
There are no superlatives that can adequately describe how wonderful this property is. We were in St. George for 4 days to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday and needed a house that could comfortably accommodate 4 generations of family members (15 people from 65 years to 15 months) plus 60 guests for the party itself. This property fit the bill perfectly. Whitehead Home is an enchanting mix of old world charm and updated amenities. All of the bedrooms are huge and the accompanying baths are very modern. The entire property was spotless. The central family room/kitchen/dining area was the perfect gathering place for family and easily hosted all party guests. The home includes ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you would need, from a fully-stocked kitchen to baby essentials (high chair, crib, stroller, toys for various ages, etc.), a large and airy outdoor dining area to high-end toiletries. The location is also ideal in a quiet, historic neighborhood close to the restaurants and galleries of downtown, yet near some terrific trailheads for the more athletically-minded. And Rosana was the ultimate host, personally providing us with lots of helpful information about the house and activities going on in St. George during our stay. I've been renting vacation homes for 10 years and have to say that Whitehead Home was the best rental experience we have ever had!
Thank so much for you generous review. We are so happy you noticed our attention to detail. It's our goal and pleasure to make Whitehead a great getaway for families of all ages. You family was extremely kind, helpful, and left the hope in perfect condition. I'd say you are the perfect guests. Thanks again and hope to have you back.
My family was there to support our eldest And her schools marching band in a band competition. I was in charge of logistics for 275 people. Coming back to this lovely home in between things was such a blessing.
My kids and father were able to enjoy and relax and walk to downtown while my husband and I were running all over. At night we could sit and visit as a family and all slept amazing in the comfy beds. We hope to return and enjoy more of what the area has to offer in the near future.
I am so please that you were able to find the Whitehead Home a relaxing place to enjoy during your busy scheduled time in St. George. Thanks for being such wonderful guests. I hope you'll be able to return and enjoy all the amazing sites, events, and restaurants the area has to offer.
Thanks again for staying, it truly was a pleasure to have you family.
Our family of 11 all came from out of town for our sons wedding to a local St George girl. The home, weather and lovely settings made it a picture perfect day for the bride and groom. The grandchildren especially became very attached to the toys and nook. They did not want to leave . The weekend could not have been better. Thank you Rosana for making us feel welcomed.
We are so pleased your trip to St. George and sons wedding was picture perfect. We appreciate your kind review and hope to have your wonderful family stay again.
St. George and surrounding area is full of outdoor activities, places to explore and visit, and entertainment. "The unique setting translate to family adventures, luxury spas, extensive shopping, championship golf and nearby outdoor recreation assets unlike anywhere else. In other words, fishing, climbing, canyoneering, biking, hiking, ATV and more — all in the unbeatable climate of beautiful St. George, Utah. Many of the annual events (St. George Marathon, Ironman, Tour de St. George Bike race) come right past the Whitehead Home. And St. George area can boast of 11 wonderful golf courses.
Down the Street: The Downtown Farmers Market at Ancestor Square (two walking blocks from Whitehead) is a free event, held every Saturday, from 8am to 12 noon in the parking lot at Ancestor Square, located at St. George Blvd. and Main Street in Historic Downtown St. George. The event is held every Saturday starting the second Saturday in May through the end of October. Also in Ancestor Square are wonderful restaurants (George's, Painted Pony, Pizza, Thai food.) and the Mystery House. You can reserve a spot and try your skills in escaping from the room by solving the mystery. Great group fun. Need something to do with the children, easy 4 block walk to the Town Square. Town Square is more than just a park. It's a wonderful place to come alone and read a book or bring the family and play around. Have a nice picnic in the park on one of the picnic tables. Splash around in the splash pad and winding river. Ride the carousel, take a stroll along the walking path. Experience the culture of the flag memorial along with the art of the bronze exhibit, and visit the St. George Children’s Museum. The museum encourages its guests to touch, feel, play, and explore in the ten exhibit rooms. The rooms are designed to encourage interaction between adults and children. It is housed in an historic school. Then cross the street to Judd's General Store, for lunch, ice cream or pick out a bag full of your favorite treats you remember as a kid. Judd's is proud to be the oldest business in town...104 years and counting. It has been a favorite place of every kid in town since 1911. Also on Main is the Art Museum and during the summer you can buy tickets for a guided tour of old Saint George. These tickets will also get you into the Museum.
Down the Road: In the nearby town of Santa Clara you'll find Tuacahn the outdoor theater. Usually 4 musicals to choose from along with guest musical and comedic entertainers. Tuacahn is so popular you may want to book an event before you arrive. Santa Clara has a quaint old down town with some good restaurants and antique shops.
Adventure: In the same area is Snow Canyon State Park with beautiful visits and hikes.
A short drive east you can visit Zion's national park, with it's breathtaking beauty. Zion's has a variety of hikes, from a leisurely stroll to challenging downright scary. North and West you'll find amazing hikes with waterfalls. A few are Gunlock Waterfall and Pools, Toquerville Falls, Red Reef hike in Red Cliffs park, and Kanarra Creek Trail.
There are so many of sites (Historic and fun) that you just can't see and do everything in St. George in one trip. You'll want to come back, again and again.
About Rosana Sorensen
My husband and I grew up in the beautiful Napa Valley in northern California and moved to Utah in 1991. We have 5 children and 4 beautiful grandchildren and we love spending time together creating stronger bonds and cherished memories. We fell in love with renovating old homes after we purchased a run down bungalow on the Provo river and spent a couple years turning it into the charming "Springside Cottage". Then we set our sights on St. George. We, like you, wanted a large place to have all our children, grandchildren and friends with us, yet have privacy, convenience, and our own bathroom. So now we are owners of the historic Whitehead Home in St. George. We look forward to making it a memorable place for other families and friend groups to enjoy. We hope you'll love and enjoy this dear home as we do!

Why Rosana Sorensen chose Saint George

The home has undergone a remodel, but we've keeping the historical integrity while adding new and modern conveniences. Necessities like double ovens, microwave, extra fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and internet to name a few. There is plenty of parking for your group too. We are constantly improving and upgrading the home to help our guests have a wonderful, relaxing, memorable experience. The Whitehead Home is right in 'Town Square' of St George. Within 4 blocks you can find 10 restaurants, galleries, historic sights, antique shops, 4 banks, ATMs, parks, museums, hair salons, library, and plenty of shopping. So much to explore just in the neighborhood. St. George has so much to offer, yet still has the feeling of a smaller town. St. George has so much to offer, yet still has the feeling of a smaller town. And there is so much to do in the area. You can travel a close distance to Zion's National Park, Snow Canyon, Tuacahn Outdoor Theater, 12 golf courses in the area, swimming parks and so much more. Because of the beautiful weather there is always something going on in St. George from farmers markets to nighttime music festivals. Come enjoy the best of both worlds, historic charm and modern convinces; remnants of the past and luxuries of the present.
