This property was once the stable. It is at the end of the main house (dating back to Tudor times) which is occupied by the owners. It is on the edge of the village, about ½ mile from the main road, a very rural setting. Coxley is in the centre of Somerset, 20 – 25 miles from Bristol, Bath, Frome, Yeovil, Taunton and Weston-super-Mare, all of which are major tourist or cultural attractions. Being close to the Mendip Hills it is an excellent centre for walking, riding, cycling, golf… Nearby are: Wells (3 miles) – the smallest cathedral city in the country. The Cathedral is considered by many to be the most beautiful of all England’s cathedrals. For a truly unforgettable experience, go to weekday Evensong and hear one of the best choirs in the world in a tradition which is older than the Cathedral itself. Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be a Christian. Ask us for details. The Bishop’s Palace – fabulous mediaeval buildings and beautiful gardens containing the springs, or ‘wells’, after which the city is named, and which feed the moat surrounding the Palace, where the famous swans are, which ring a bell when they want to be fed. Vicars’ Close – the oldest (c700 years) continuously-occupied street in Europe. Built to house the men of the Cathedral Choir who still live there today. Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year – a huge range of locally produced artisan and ‘ordinary’ foods, as well as books, antiques, clothes etc. Glastonbury (4 miles) – famous for: the Tor (perfect view of it from here); the Abbey, a ruin since the time of Henry VIII; and the Festival (most years in June). This is a perfect place to stay for that if you don’t fancy camping and mud! Street (6 miles) – where the famous Clarks Village is – factory outlets of over 90 stores at discount prices. Also nearby: Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, Longleat Safari Park, National Trust properties - Stourhead, Montacute, Dyrham Park, Lytes Cary, Tyntesfield. Very convenient for Millfield and Wells Cathedral Schools. NB: We are next to a working dairy farm, so some noise from machinery etc must be expected. Flies can be a nuisance in hot weather.

Lovely couple - perfect guests. Very friendly and appreciative. Excellent communication. Left the place beautifully clean and tidy. We would be delighted if they came again. Highly recommended.
Property itself is a delight to stay in as it reflects its 400 yr old character. Very comfortable & well appointed. Hosts Richard & Jennifer are very friendly & helpful. Good location for exploring wider area in addition to many nearby attractions. Some folks maybe more “aware” of nearby farming activities than others.
Delightful stay in Stable Cottage. Hosts Richard and Jenny very welcoming and their cottage was perfect for our long weekend visiting the area. Excellent location between Wells and Glastonbury but also beautifully quiet .. except for the cows!
We had a superb long weekend here and were given such a warm welcome when we arrived. There was so much to see and do in the local area but we also made the most of relaxing in the sitting room and taking in the wonderful view!
Property is clean comfortable, light and airy, well fitted in a country-chic style.

The converted stables provide a lovely and cozy stay in a great location for visiting Glastonbury and Wells. All the amenities for a fully self catering stay are provided in a space with amazing views across to the Tor. Jenny and Richard are lovely hosts with easy communication. We will stay here again!

Riga and Melissa are a lovely couple. Very friendly and appreciative. Excellent communication. Left the place beautifilly clean and tidy. We would be delighted if they came again. Highly recommended.
Lovely annexe, beautiful views across to Glastonbury Tor. Only slight annoyance was the milking machine starting at 6 in the morning (but not really a problem, easily ignored).
Close to many tourist attractions.
We returned to stay at the Old Stables again for a few days, coupled with a visit to Glastonbury and Wells. Again, everything was perfect and we love the location, providing excellent access to both towns, with a wonderful rural setting. The space is warm and cosy, with everything being thoughtfully provided for a self-catering stay. We will certainly be back!

This was the second visit by Riga and Melissa. As before, they were perfect guests, being very friendly and appreciative, and leaving the place beautifully clean and tidy. We would certainly be delighted if they came again.
We loved this accommodation. The Old Stable conversation is tastefully layed out with fabulous views across farmland to The Tor in the distance. Very well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room and bed. Ingenious window system that allowed access to a small balcony. Richard welcomed us and explained how everything work. The location was perfect for Wells and Glastonbury and the surrounding areas. Maps were available to borrow and the hosts pointed out some key places we shouldn't miss such as the cathedral and the Bishops Palace. Would certainly stay here again.
The accommodation is wonderful and had everything we needed: clean, comfortable, well-equipped, warm and peaceful. We particularly enjoyed the great view of Glastonbury Tor and seeing the cows come to and fro for milking. Richard and Jenny were great hosts; friendly, communicative and helpful. The location is perfect for visiting Wells, Glastonbury and surrounding area. We hope to be back and highly recommend!

Thank you so much for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your time here. We'd be delighted if you came again some time.
Very nice self contained property with all your needs. Excellent views of Glastonbury Tor and surrounding countryside from balcony. Overlooking a working dairy farm, we enjoyed watching the cows walking up to be milked then walking back to the field. Ideal location for visiting the local attractions like Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar with it's caves and Gorge. Lovely hosts on site to assist if required. Would definitely stay again.

In the countryside with beautiful views across the fields to Glastonbury Tor. Close to Wells and other places we wanted to visit.
Jenny and Richard met us on arrival and showed us round and told us a bit about the area. They were very friendly and helpful and
we had everything we needed for self catering.
Next door to a dairy farm but apart from occasional mooing and the gentle hum of the milking parlour it was fine and to be expected.
Thank you, we enjoyed our stay.
the cttage had everything we needed.
