About Kathy Willey-Coogan

We LOVE St. Pete!!!! It's such a wonderful city, rich with culture, music, art and nature all that and beautiful weather too! You can't ask for more than St. Pete has to offer. We have lived in the area for over 20 years and have traveled to many great destinations however there's no place on earth we have enjoyed more than St. Petersburg Florida. We are truely blessed to live and work in this amazing area. Being from northern states ourselves originally (Michigan & New Jersey) we know how long and cold winter can be up north. This little bungalow is where we want to retire someday. Unfortunately, it's too soon for us to be able to kick our feet up. That's why we want to share our little corner of heaven, we figure someone may as well enjoy it until we are able to.

Why Kathy Willey-Coogan chose Historic Uptown

When my husband and daughter and I walked in the door we instantly fell in love with this house. The original wood floors from 1910 and French doors leading out to a covered front porch that sits on one of St Pete's quaint brick streets. It was just perfect! We very much wanted a place close enough to downtown to ride our bikes but also close enough to walk to Cresent Lake, Starbucks, Panera, Carrabas, Outback, and we have so much fun at Practically Picasso...we never imagined we could have it all and a huge back yard as well! This place was more than we were dreaming of so we couldn't pass it up, even though we can't live there yet- it's already home. We are happy to be able to share. :)

What makes this house unique

The large backyard in a location this close to town is a very unique find. We love being able to invite everyone to park in the driveway and walk or bike to town during events or concerts. Parking downtown is especially difficult to find and can get expensive. We have this lovely oasis where friends and family can park, go downtown for events and then relax in the backyard and have a cookout. There is ALWAYS something fun going on downtown the tough part is choosing what to attend.

Lovely home in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

This house is very comfortable and well-appointed, great for eating in, entertaining, and relaxing while visiting the sites and great restaurants in St. Petersburg. There is good light and there are 2 inviting porches, front and back. Kathy is very helpful and quickly responsive whenever I had a question. The house is located very close to the downtown, but a car is necessary to get around. Ample parking is available behind the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our month here.

Wonderful, quiet, comfortable house!

  • 5 of 5

My parents, grandma, and adult sister all stayed at this house in Historic Uptown. Hurricane Irma caused disruption in their plans, and we scouted last minute for a place. My husband & I live in downtown St Pete, and were amazed by the convenience of the location to get around town. It is very close to down town, with multiple easy paths to the interstate to get to the beach. It is also very close to many quality restaurants and grocery stores.

The house itself was very well decorated, well maintained, and laid out. They were never bothered with street noise, and couldn't hear any neighbors or cars. The beds and couches were comfortable, with many extra pillows, which is not always the case in short-term rentals. The kitchen was well equipped and we grilled out a couple times in the backyard.

The next time they come to town, they will definitely be looking at staying here again. My 94 year old grandma even left a hand written note about how much she loved the place. Thanks so much for making our last minute vacation very enjoyable!

Great little bungalow

  • 5 of 5

This was a great little Bungalow and perfect for a girls long weekend in St. Pete. Upon approaching it didn't look like much and the grass was long… But upon entering through the back it was welcoming. It's located in an area where they are doing a lot of revitalization. It's a super quaint neighborhood and can't wait to see it in a couple years.

Super cozy, nice upgrades and a great overall space. The kitchen, laundry and bath were stocked with ample supplies. There's everything you can think of that you might need available. Kathy was very responsive and available for any questions and/ or needs.

You can easily walk to the downtown area. We frequent in the Central/4th Street area often. We also took Uber to treasure Island to hang out at the beach.

This house is great for friends and family trips. It's a great location that is easily accessible and quick to catch an Uber to downtown St. Petersburg.

Convenient to everything in St. Pete

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice six-day stay here. The house is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown St. Pete, many of the restaurants and businesses on 4th St, and Crescent Lake. Looking at it from the street out front, you may not think much of it, but it has a great backyard with a deck, separate patio seating area, grill, and hammock. The inside of the bungalow is nicely updated and had more than enough room and seating throughout for us to host a dinner party with a dozen people without needing to spread out to the backyard during a warm and drizzly St. Pete summer evening. There is one queen sized bed in each of the bedrooms and a daybed in the study. The master bedroom and master bathroom are big. The master bathroom is very nice with a large glass shower and a separate tub. The second bedroom has a good sized walk in closet. The daybed in the study would probably only fit a child or small adult overnight. An air mattress was provided and we set that up in the study rather than have someone stay on the daybed. Having two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and our own laundry were great as well since some of the other rentals in the area only had one bathroom or a shared laundry. There is an area off the alley behind the backyard fence with plenty of room to park two full-sized vehicles. Having designated off-street parking for two vehicles was another plus for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Place!

Couldn't have been happier. Flew in from Seattle to spend several days with my daughter, who lives in St. Pete. Very comfortable and nicely updated. Especially liked the BBQ - grilled swordfish steaks for dinner one night.
