About Dennis Moss
I am a 60 something native Californian with a passion for L.A. My wife and I have lived here our entire lives with the exception of 4 years at Berkeley. It is often said that 'there is no place like home'. It is our goal that your experience at our cottage will truly feel like a home away from home, and help make your visit to Los Angeles memorable.
Dennis Moss purchased this House in 2014
Why Dennis Moss chose Melrose
We chose this lovely house because we have always been enamored with the style and warmth of L.A. architecture circa the 1920's, the beautiful tree lined neighborhoods of West Hollywood/Hollywood , and the vibrancy of the Wilshire to Sunset, La Brea to Doheny community. Our wonderful rental property has been a labor of love, and it shows.
What makes this House unique
What sets this property apart is its location--- There are many 1920's era homes as charming, well built and welcoming. Many have the modern appliances and furnishings our place has. What others often lack is the truly great location of our property--- close to the pulse of the unique L.A. experience, yet in a setting that evokes a tranquil neighborhood feel captured in the tree-lined streets and nearby local park.

Cozy and convenient in West Hollywood
Lovely, well appointed 2BR bungalow within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Comfortable beds, great furnishings and everything you need including off street parking. Manager was very attentive and quickly answered questions. We will definitely come back again if we return to LA!
Great location, great place, great time! Thank you!
Very nice stay !
We loved our stay here. The location was extremely convenient for our scheduled events, including a show at the very close Pantages Theater and a tour of the La Brea Tarpits, which was also a short drive. We found the neighbors to be quiet, respectful and friendly. Lots of people happily walking their dogs along the sidewalk. The sports park next door is great, it's not too busy but feels family oriented, all the kids and adults we saw were very curteous and saying hello and smiling back. The house was warm, inviting and just as advertised... with the minor exception of the entry way... the trash receptacles were in the spot of the patio furniture shown in the photos - all 3 trash cans were in the entry area. It wasn't a big deal to us. But the patio set was out back and not in the front as pictured. Also, a couple of sets of the wood blinds were inoperable and hanging unevenly, which looked a little disheveled. But my husband kind of straightened them out with a paper clip, best he could delicately, to help them look okay. We had family come for lunch one day, for a bday, and wanted the place "photo ready" :) It looked adorable and photographed very well. Both beds were very comfortable, nice linens and pillows. The 1 bathroom is very adequate, clean and many places for storing our necessities and lots of towels. Excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. The kitchen was nice, roomy and had all the dishware, utensils and appliances we needed for hosting 6 people for a meal. Oh, no wine glasses tho! So we used the water glasses :) Loved having the washer and dryer in the house. We used them. Central heating worked great ! Wood floors do creak a bit, but didn't bother us at all. The TV didn't have ESPN, that we could figure out, so we had to go to a nearby sports bar for the USC vs UCLA game one evening. The sofa is comfy and we absolutely loved having a driveway for our car. Would recommend and would stay again. Huge bonus: it was so nice to be able to have our doggie with us. Thank you for the cozy accommodations! We had fun, slept soundly and can't say enough good things about how well located this is to many Hollywood attractions.
Nice little house in a good location
The house was generally really good, clean, good room sizes, well kept and good basic bathroom amenities. It was a little old so the floor was really creaky and the air con was a hit and miss - some days it worked, others it didn't. No kitchen amenities - i.e. sugar, oil, salt so would recommend they keep some of these. Owners seemed lovely, communication was a little thin but everything was organised well. They even had someone come and put out the bins which was great. Location was pretty good - there was a park right next door which was ok. It was close to Melrose Ave and a few mins drive from the main shopping district, the Grove and Sunset. We enjoyed our stay - just a few little improvements needed really.
Love this place!
We flew to LA for spring break, myself my junior in high school daughter and her best friend. We stayed at this property and we had a fabulous time. Close to everything, clean, well maintained and very well equipped! The owner and his assistant went Wwaayy above and beyond to insure we had everything we needed, got into the property easily and made sure we were comfortable. Next time we are in the area, we know where we are staying...won't stay anywhere else!! A++
Great little house in a lovely neighborhood
Loved our 4-night stay. Property was just as advertised, very well thought out and very efficient. House was clean and well-maintained. Owner was quick to respond to any inquiries. Would definitely recommend to people who want to be in Hollywood area. (One recommendation would be to put shade/blind on door window for extra privacy.) Thank you!
