The apartment is very spacious, with excellent views. It is right next to the coastal road, which makes it a bit noisy. There are a lot of steps but not terrible. There is only air conditioning in the master bedroom, and it's hard to get it spread into the rest of the apartment. The AC worked very well in the master bedroom, and we kept all the doors open all day and it helped cool the rest of the apartment, but it was still warm in the second bedroom and the living room. Watch your head when you go from the living room to the bedrooms, I hit my head on the stone masonery. Also watch your head when going down the stairs to town, also hit my head there. The mattresses were pretty hard. The apartment was redone probably in the 90s, and it's showing a bit of age, but very usable. You can expect a very functional place, not a luxury one. There is a washing machine that was fantastic. The apartment has a private roof terrace is simply stunning with 360 views. The place is in Atrani, which is a "real" coastal village, with mostly long-term residents who work in the area. Amalfi is a 15-minute (but somewhat steep) walk away, through a very cool tunnel. The beach has umbrellas you can rent but the water is very cold and the beach has dark stone/sand so it's not really a beach town, but that's true for the whole coast. Overall great memories!
