Dan and Dina are the best hosts this is an awesome Lakehouse and boathouse and dock area including the patio on top of the boathouse just a great spot on a gorgeous pristine lake!!
Peaceful, relaxing 2 Weeks!
Owners were very welcoming upon our arrival and contacted us non intrusively a couple of times to make sure our stay was going well. The cottage was spotless and very charming. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, etc. We enjoyed the fireplace on the deck over the boat house, the porch over looking the lake (safe place for our dogs), sleeping with the lake breeze going through the open windows, listening to the creek gurgling as it flowed by the house, and the occasional sea plane landing just off the dock! The lake is crystal clear and great for swimming and fishing! The boat mooring safely held our 22 foot boat with no worries. This is a very quiet part of the lake. A piece of heaven! And if you want some activity Skaneateles, with all it has to offer, is only 25 minutes away! As stated before, there are many steps to the cottage and lake. Which might make this property difficult for anyone with mobility issues! All in all, great rental property!
Charming house on the lake. Loved the front porch and hammock and the roof deck. House was very well maintained and owners very responsive. Only drawback was the number of stairs leading from the road but other than moving in and moving out did not have to tackle them more than once a day. Loved everything about our week and would definitely go back!!
Well decorated, clean, adorable house as others have said. Great views, crystal clear water, fabulous deck and fireplace above boat house. Lots, lots of steps- but that is true of most Skaneateles properties.Great owners too.
This is a gorgeous cottage, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and welcoming from the moment you arrive. Our family (4 adults) stayed here the week of June 20th - 27th and had a wonderful time. The views are spectacular, and relaxing on the deck above the boathouse is a setting out of a magazine. We enjoyed multiple sunset dinners here followed by enchanting fires in the outdoor fireplace. This part of the lake is quiet and relaxing, but just 20 minutes from the town and tourist center of activity at the north end of the lake. We spent time in town, did some sightseeing and some hiking, kayaking, swimming and reading. It's a great location for all of the above. There are a good number of stairs going down to the house from the road, and that could be a challenge for someone physically impaired, but we adopted with no problem, and actually enjoyed the exercise! The little waterfall running down the hill next to the house adds a wonderful ambience to this cozy, yet bright and cheery setting.
The owners are super-attentive to any needs, and made us feel right at home. We would definitely return to rent this house again, and probably will.
Loved it despite a rainy week!
My husband, infant son and pup stayed here the week of June 27-July 4. The cottage is lovely - has everything you need to enjoy the week. The porch was wonderful, as we could sit outside despite the rain (and there is a dog gate to keep fido from running off the porch). We cooked many of our meals on the antique stove, as the weather was a bit rainy and it worked great. The grill on the outdoor deck was great for a Friday night cookout with friends, and there is a firepit there (wood provided) to make smores while watching the sunset. My husband loved the kayak, and the babe loved the shady porch and rocking in the hammock. This is a quiet street far enough from the bustle of Skaneateles on the holiday weekend to make it relaxing - great for walks or runs - but close enough that we went to Skaneateles a few times for lunch and shopping. The only thing I would say are there are quite a few stairs down to the house, so you need to be mindful of small children. The owners are attentive, respond within minutes to any inquiry, and are close by should you need anything. It is their first summer renting out, so there are not a lot of reviews, but I can bet this place will rent out quickly in the summers to come! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
