About the property

A perfect spot for your beach vacatoin

Beautifully decorated, light-filled and very comfortable home. Huge screened porch on main living level creates an additional living and dining room - which is always cool and comfortable because of the large shade trees in the yard. Another huge porch on second floor at the back of home which is covered. It also stays cool and comfortable thanks to the trees. In fact, when you sit on the upper porch, you almost feel as though you are in a tree house! Spacious outdoor shower. Off street parking for 2-3 cars. No Rehoboth Beach parking permit required. Gas grill provided for outdoor BBQ. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and dishes in case you want to cook (although there are tons of fabulous restaurants if you prefer to eat out!) An easy walk to the beach or to town (Rehoboth or Dewey). Just 2-3 blocks from Silver Lake, which is a beautiful lake and provides perfect bird watching. You'll have no shortage of things to do, whether you decide to spend the day on the beaches, go shopping in town, shop at all the outlets, go to the movies, walk the boardwalk, play at Funland or eat at the endless array of restaurants. A morning walk on the beach is a must. And we are an easy bike ride to many of the state parks. You are sure to have plenty to do, regardless of your interests!

About Mary Ellen Walsh

We have owned this home since it was a tiny 300 square foot cinderblock summer cottage. In 2002, we removed the cottage and built the current home. We love our home, but due to our children's busy schedules, even in the summer, we decided to rent our home for part of this summer. Our house will not "feel" like a rental house because it is is truly our home.

Mary Ellen Walsh purchased this house in 1970

Why Mary Ellen Walsh chose Rehoboth Beach

We absolutely love our home and hope you do too! We are in a quiet neighborhood, which is a benefit when you are ready to get some sleep! But we are close enough to downtown Rehoboth that we often walk or bike into town when we are ready for some action. We also have very easy access to the beaches and Dewey Beach. We have a huge well-stocked kitchen if you like to cook! Our screened porch runs the full width of the house and is fantastic for relaxing and eating. We also have a large covered deck upstairs that faces the back of the house. A wonderful space to read a book or take a nap if you decide to skip the beach one day. And the front bedroom upstairs has a lovely deck to sit and have morning coffee and watch all the folks out for their morning walk to the beach.

What makes this house unique

Our house is very comfortable for living and entertaining. We have two wonderful shade trees in the back yard which keep the yard (and screened porch and upper deck) comfortable even on the steamiest of summer days.

I felt like I was in my own home!

  • 5 of 5

The house was so clean - the layout of the home had so much positive feng shui that everything flowed. There were 6 of us and 2 English bulldogs. Mary Ellen the owner was always a phone call away when we had questions. The kitchen was spacious - and fully stocked. The bathrooms had high ceilings and were absolutely spotless. The bedrooms were big enough for two people and their suitcases. The washer/dryer was located right next to the backdoor - good for dogs to stay in while they wait for us or while we feed them. I wish it were summer - we could have used the balcony in front of the 2nd bedroom and the front of the master bedroom. The patio would have been a great place to hang-out as well. Oh well! It was just as pleasant staying there in the winter as I am sure it will be in the summer. It's better to stay there than at a bed and breakfast place :) Thank you Mary Ellen!

Great family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a wonderful week here in August. The home is perfect! Lots of natural light, plenty of room and sparkling clean. The homeowner is great to work with...very attentive to detail. Our kids loved the screened-in porch and the outdoor shower. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful beach home!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this contemporary, light-filled and spacious home during a glorious beach week at Rehoboth! We loved being in this very well-tended-to home -- decorated with many artistic touches -- and enjoyed all of our down-time in the house. The living areas of the house are spacious, cheerful, tastefully furnished and entertainment friendly. There is a large screened in back porch where we enjoyed breakfast and late afternoon socializing. The walk to the beach is several blocks so we generally drove our gear to the beach and had no difficulty finding metered parking within a half block of the ocean even during a busy summer week. I also want to emphasize the owner of the home is a pleasure to work with, responsive to any and all needs and made many helpful recommendations to us. All in all, we enjoyed a very full week of beach-going, biking, golfing. restaurant-going and relaxing and the setting of this house was the perfect back drop. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet. We would definitely hope to rent this property again!
