The apartment is 60 meters from the Ponte Vecchio or Old Bridge, one of the most famous Florentine landmarks, and looks directly onto the river Arno. On the opposite bank of the river is the Uffizi museum complex and the famous Vasari Corridor, which connects the Palazzo Vecchio to the Uffizi and across the Ponte Vecchio to the Pitti Palace.
Across the road is a perfectly furnished small supermarket and all around there are excellent restaurants, cafés, wine bars, fashion shops and artisans’ workshops. With just a few minutes’ walk, you can reach all the principal monuments and museums, including the Uffizi museum; the Palazzo Pitti museums and the Boboli gardens; the Piazza della Signoria with the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio as well as the Duomo or Cathedral. You can also stroll along the riverbanks admiring the city and the surrounding hills.
About the apartment.
The 'Ponte Vecchio relax' apartment is on the 2nd floor of a recently fully refurbished building with all the windows overlooking the river Arno. It has two rooms plus a spacious bathroom for a total area of approximately 400 sq. ft.
As all the windows look onto the river and none face the street, the apartment is extremely silent even when the windows are left open. It is served by a newly installed elevator and each room has central heating and air conditioning. Furthermore the floor is entirely in oak parquet except for the bathroom where the use of tiles has been preferred.
When you enter the apartment there is a small hall and to the left you access the ample bedroom with a king size double bed. From the centre of the hall you enter the large bathroom equipped with a shower and where you will also find the washing machine. On the opposite side of the hall from the bedroom you find the living room with an equipped kitchen that can be closed out of sight when not used. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven; an under counter refrigerator; a dishwasher and a two fire induction hob. A toaster and coffee pot are also present. In the living room the comfortable sofa can be opened up to reveal a sofa double bed.
If I could give more than five stars I would. Benedetta is so helpful and the apartment was beautiful and you truly cannot beat the location and views!!!!!
My daughter and I rented this lovely apartment for our 10-day stay in Florence. The photos capture exactly the amazing view from every room. The location was perfect, so close to the Ponte Vecchio, that you can easily walk everywhere in ten to fifteen minutes. We also spent many evenings exploring the restaurants around Santo Spiritu, which has a lively local feel to it. Just hanging out there and eating the most delicious pasta at all the restaurants was one of our trip's highlights (we had no bad meal). In addition, Benedetta was a wonderful host--responsive and responsible. We would definitely come back to this apartment again, and I would highly recommend it to others.
This by far has been the best vrbo / Airbnb experience we've had. Benedetta was extremely nice. Her apartment is centrally located and was easy to get to. We took a 10 minute taxi ride from the train station. Benedetta showed us around the apartment when we arrived and provided us with great information and recommendations. The apartment itself was incredible, we had an amazing view of Ponte Veccio from every room! The apartment decor was tasteful and all needed amenities were provided. The bed is super comfortable and there is enough closet space for two. The shower is spacious enough and provided great water pressure, we even took the time to do some laundry while we were here. A full kitchen is also available, but we didn't use it much as we had a variety of great options for food. The apartment is on the second floor but there is an elevator which came in handy when moving our luggage. As far as the location, I don't think there could be a better place. The apartment is surrounded by incredible restaurants, shops and a supermarket. My husband and I walked everywhere and only used a taxi when getting to and from the train station. You will find a taxi service a few steps from the apartment.
Overall our stay at Bennedetta's was very enjoyable, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.
This charming apartment met every need for my husband and I during our quick 3-day stay in Florence. It is absolutely perfectly located and has a grocery store and coffee bar right across the street. The furnishings are comfortable and the owner has left several thoughtful items scattered around the apartment (umbrella, espresso maker and coffee, butter and milk, laundry soap and a blow dryer). We arrived just as the weather was changing, so while it was tempting to leave the windows open, mosquitos were still buzzing around. To that point, however, the air conditioning worked like a charm. We could not have been happier with this little getaway.
Whenever we visit Florence, we always wish to stay here! It is truly our favorite apartment in Italy! A home away from home, and the owners are so incredibly kind and always there to assist us with any questions we have. The apartment is fully stocked with everything needed to make for a comfortable and easy stay. We cannot wait to return again soon!
The apartment was beautiful ,perfect location and Benedetta could not of been more helpful with her suggestions. When we make it back to Florence we will definitely stay here again!!
