Lamb slaughtered in bathtub during recent rental!
I found this apartment for a short stay near Avignon. The ad said “Modern, comfortable and well-kept”. They said it had a “dishwasher, microwave, it was in a good location.” This is not true. We wore our slippers inside to respect and protect the property. The floors we’re so dirty that our new slippers were black in less than 30 minutes in the apartment. We had to mop the floor even though we paid for a cleaning fee. The patio was filthy and unable to be used. The dirt was an inch thick on the furniture and floor.
The microwave is kept under the kitchen sink. You almost have to get into the cabinet to use it. I had trouble getting it to work and was told that I had to hold the microwave from the back and push very hard to get it to start. It was almost impossible to use. The dishwasher had a note on it that it was broken. When we addressed that, she said she told HomeAway to change the ad but they hadn’t. I don’t think it’s HomeAway’s issue here.
There were people running up and down the halls and banging on doors at 2 in the morning!
The train station is next door, but the train comes through in the night and wakes you up. No one mentioned this noise, but we found earplugs in the drawer of the bedroom. Obviously it’s an issue.
The next door neighbor sneezed and it woke us up in the night! The walls are like paper. When he enters his apartment, you think he is coming into your apartment. It’s really uncomfortable!
This is the WORST thing about the apartment..When we were checking in, the lady told us another renter SLAUGHTERED a LAMB in the bathtub for a holy holiday! That is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Especially to tell me when I’m checking in and I’m in cancellation penalty and can’t leave! They never pressed charges on the man for this horrible and traumatic event so they are complicit in the crime!
Imagine showering where a little lamb was slaughtered!! It’s traumatic to say the least! Not what I wanted for my vacation experience!
To top it off, when I selected the property it never stated a security deposit would be taken. I don’t mind if it’s stated in advance so I know what money I need. My request was rejected because the total I put on my card to cover the rental was what I agreed to, but not the surprise €200. more!
We left the property 2/17/20 in better shape than we found it. Supposedly our security deposit was released on 2/24/20, but to date we haven’t gotten it in our bank as of 3/11/20! We are getting the runaround! STAY AWAY!
