About Narelle Hindley
My husband and I are Australians who decided to move to Italy in 2013 seeking a more relaxed lifestyle. After searching all over Italy, we decided to settle in Umbria mainly due to its central location in the very centre of Italy, the lush green countryside and the slower pace. In our previous lives I was a commercial property lawyer and my husband was a bit of a jack of all trades. We owned and operated and Bed a Breakfast business in the Gold Coast hinterland for 4 years. We have renovated several properties in Brisbane, Queensland and now in Morcella, Italy.

Why Narelle Hindley chose Marsciano
We were looking for somewhere peaceful but not isolated. The apartment is situated within a small village of less than 100 people living within the borgo. We have no neighbours to the rear of the property, which is dedicated to farming. We fell in love with the spectacular views, could see the potential that the apartment had and liked the fact that it is all on one level. We have spent more than 1 year renovating the apartment to turn it into the home that it is today with a warm, modern feel. We have recently added a stone terrace on the ground level to make the most of our outdoor space, which is so rare for an apartment in a village.
What makes this Apartment unique
The beautiful rural views from the balcony which runs the full length of the apartment. In fact, views can be enjoyed from the bedrooms, the lounge room, the dining room and the main bathroom. The colours change with the seasons as the neighbouring farmers work their land.

Umbria is an enchanting region perfectly located in the centre of Italy, bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east, Lazio to the south and Emilia Romagna to the North. This region features gently rolling hills and valleys and is known as the 'Green heart of Italy' as so much of its landscape is luscious and comprised of green expanses of working farmland, including olive groves, vineyards and fields of sunflowers. Medieval hill towns dot the landscape to complete the magical panorama.
Lake Trasimeno is a favourite with Italians, where you can take a 15 minute boat ride to reach one of the Islands famous for lacemaking and lovely lakeside restaurants. World famous places such as Assisi, Orvieto, Perugia and Spoleto are just 30 to 50 minutes away from Morcella. Deruta, home to the world famous Renaissance majolica-ceramics, is on your doorstep, less than a 15 minute drive away. Umbrian olive oil is one of Italy's finest and its wines are sure to impress the most discerning wine buffs, especially the renowned Orvieto Classico bianco, the wonderful straw coloured Grechetto and the famous rich flavoured red, Montefalco Sagrantino.
The apartment provides a fantastic base from which to discover all of the famous towns as well as other delightful villages such as Spello, Gubbio, Todi, Norcia, Narni, Montefalco, Bevagna, Panicale and numerous small villlages along the way. Morcella is located 5 minutes from the E-45 Superstrada which will easily connect you to all Umbrian destinations. The A-1 Autostrada del Sole will take you to Rome (1.5 hours to the outskirts) and Florence (2 hours), making it the perfect location from which to explore central Italy and all its rich cultural heritage.
Umbria is home to many local festivals (sagre), especially during summer, where you can taste regional food and wine, experience Umbrian hospitality and dance the night away to live music. Local specialties include many different varieties of cheese such as pecorino, wild boar (cinghiale), truffles (tartufo), fresh olive oil, lentils and many types of beans/pulses, salami and prosciutto.
