Also, our vacation homes do not have many of the consumable items in stock for guest use (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.). Once you book your vacation, we’ll provide you with a list of items that you may want to consider bringing with you on your vacation. This list can also be viewed on our website:
We couldn't check in until 3:30 and we had to wait until 3:30 to get the key and directions (not on site, but not that far away). I'm not even sure anyone stayed there prior to our visit, but maybe.
Once we arrived, it was chaos. There wasn't enough parking for even 1 car per unit. They did have extra parking across the street, but when you have to unpack your house, that doesn't really work. People were parked all around the parking lot. They had 14 carts for over 120 units (I think is what they said). My daughter and I wound up unloading our vehicle and carrying everything up - a lot of trips. Not complaining - just letting you know - not for the feint of heart.
The unit was old and smelled moldy upon arrival. We whipped up a batch of brownies to counteract that.
The bathroom floor tiles were cracked & it looked like someone had taped them at one point to camouflage that. Lots of soft points in the unit's floor.
It might have slept 6 people if all couples, or a couple and 4 children (2 per bed). All the mattresses were thin or worn out. I believe when we booked the unit, it listed it as having 3 Queens & 2 Singles. We never did find the 2nd single. The 1 single we discovered was a fold out chair. The 3rd Queen was the pull out sofa, which was in the "family room". 2/3 of the vertical blinds were missing and unfortunately, we woke up with the light at around 5 am.
The people above us sounded like a herd of horses and they were pretty much at it until 10:30 pm the whole week.
The TV was ancient and not being all that technologically handy, we were unable to connect the DVD player to the TV. I guess that wasn't so bad as we had books and a view. But, don't expect to be able to use it unless you're tech savvy.
The wifi and phone service was spotty at best for all of us. We had to use our phones in the front bedroom. I had a difficult time using the wifi. I have heard it isn't just where we stayed, but N. Topsail.
The balcony was great! Great view of the ocean and the sky at night. Our trip wasn't a total loss. We had a great time. We were able to cook in some meals. Community grills if you want to grill out.
The pools looked very nice and they were clean! I would stay at this unit again if it was a really discounted rate. It is "worn"! No more than 4 adults, tho.
SUP through PaddleboardNC.com. Roller skating at Topsail above Post Office. Yes to Mainsail Restaurant & Max's Pizza for dinner!
