Great summer at Kathy's

I stayed at Kathy's place for 10 weeks over the summer and it was great. She was very prompt to reply whenever I needed anything. The space is as pictured and has a nice little balcony overlooking the park. The AC worked well even on the hottest days, and I never had an issue with finding a parking spot in the lot. Highly recommend!

Great location and accommodating owner

You will not find a more gracious host than Kathy or a more tastefully decorated studio apartment. This is the second time my husband and I have stayed in this building. Its amenities include a pool, gym, laundry facilities and convenience store. It's location is within walking distance of shopping, dining, and the varied businesses of the neighborhood strip mall, including a post office and drug store. Both Methodist and Presbyterian churches are also nearby. Ample off-street parking and a bus stop across the street add to its desirability. Thank you, Kathy, for your thoughtfulness. Your return of the address books I had carelessly left behind was a much appreciated kindness.

This unit is in a great location, close to stores and restaurants and transportation. Being across from a the beautiful Ward Park is a major plus. Enjoyed my visit here.

Like A five-star hotel - And we know what a five-star hotel is

If you are a person like we are what A cleaning disorder OCD and this is the place for you everything was perfect and clean you would love the kitchen . The bathroom. and The bed is so comfortable. you would love the balcony it has a table and two chairs. We are extending our kitchen in our home and has been here for two weeks We don’t want to leave. So stop Looking for another place if you’re lucky you Will get this one, I hope this will help anyone. God bless 🙏

A perfect upscale "hotel room/bath" with full kitchen and balcony. On South side of building for lovely evening and morning beverages. Owner provided nice extras as zip bags, storage containers and hair dryer. Great location, easy access especially to Arlington National Cemetery. Kitchen is a bit small for eating but the balcony table is available!

Thank you for your stay and review. I wish to comment on the use of the word "snug". The size (actual square feet) is clearly published on the site, along with pictures that are accurate and other reviews describe it as "large and comfortable". The condo is a large 465 square foot studio with queen bed, desk with iPad, TV with wifi, dvd and cable. There is a separate well equipped walk-in kitchen with full size appliances. The bath has a large combination closet/changing area and custom marble double vanity sinks and a separate private bathroom. It also has a walk out balcony with expansive views of pool and park, complete with bistro outdoor table and chairs which gives the place a very open feeling when the custom curtains are opened to reveal the view.

Great studio close to Old Town Alexandria

Stayed here for 6 weeks while interning in Alexandria and couldn't have been happier! The studio is well-furnished, across from a great park, and close to Old Town. Bus stops/metro stations not far which made for easy commuting to work and to popular tourist stops. Kathy was great to work with throughout my stay and always responded promptly to any questions I had. Would highly recommend this property!

Kathy’s Condo

I would recommend this condo to anyone that would like convenience, cleanliness & a landlord who wants to make sure your visit is everything you hoped it would be. Kathy made herself available if anything needed attention & it was taken care of promptly. The pictures represented the condo just as it is - the balcony was a great place to sit & relax. I come to visit my family & this condo is close to anywhere I wanted to go. Kathy’s condo is definitely a place I will come back to.

Kathy’s Place was clean and perfect!

Having to be in the DC area for two weeks I want more of a home to stay then a hotel. Kathy’s place was perfect for me. The condo was clean and well stocked for what I needed. Kathy is a great host. She left a laundry card prefilled with $20, in case needed. She is very responsive to questions and/or issues. Across the street is Ft. Ward park, great for walking and enjoying hisotry and nature! I would definitely recommend this space for a couple or single.

It was a good!

The condo was clean, inviting, and within striking distance of fine restaurants and various shopping centers. It was also well situated to get on the "freeways" to Alexandria where we spent the bulk of our time with our family. As a first time experience, it was a good one. A couple of suggestions: a) soap, shampoo in the bathroom; b) a couple of coffee packs and creamer for the first morning in the condo; c) hand rail and rubber mat for the bathtub (older guests like ourselves need the stability getting in and out of the tub). Finally, I felt badly to disturb the owner, but the air conditioner was not working and never did work adequately in the building. We Montanans were not used to the heat.

Great Location!

Kathy's is a nice cozy pkace very close to everything we wanted to see in DC. The condo is clean, well equipped and cliae to places to provide fir everyday needs like gricery shopping. The people who live un the building were nice and generally approachable. We would strongly recommend Kathy's place as an option for your stay in the area. It is a great value!

Home Away From Home

I was coming to the area from upstate NY in order to help family, planning to stay for 5-6 weeks, and needed accommodations that would offer some of the comforts of home while being affordable and convenient. Well, Kathy’s place fit the bill, and then some. This large and comfortable studio apartment provided a quiet, charming haven for me while I was away from home. The building, itself, is situated across from Fort Ward Park, so the view is lovely, and it is a 10-minute walk to shopping – the wonderful Fresh Market, a great bakery, hair salon, wine shop, convenience store, and restaurants. The apartment has a spacious main room, large enough for the queen-sized bed with night stands, a writing desk, full-sized dresser, and two arm chairs. All of this still allowed for plenty of room to walk around – no bumping into furniture or one another! Sliding glass doors facing the Park open to a wonderful balcony furnished with a small table and two chairs – perfect for watching the sun set over the tree line of the park. My husband and I ate dinner, there, and enjoyed sipping a glass of wine at the end of the day, after caring for loved ones. The kitchen, while small, provides every amenity, including a full-sized refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, pots and pans, cutlery and cooking utensils, and dishes. The bathroom was the best surprise – one enters a large bathroom with a very long double vanity, with plenty of storage, a large closet with French doors and two dressing mirrors. Through another door are the toilet and bathtub (hurrah!) with shower. The apartment entrance has a coat closet. Best highlights of the apartment and its location: the bathtub (not just a shower stall), fully functioning kitchen, marvelous balcony, sitting area, abundant storage (essential for long-term stays), incredibly quiet, easy access to parking, and proximity to shopping. And let’s not forget Kathy! From our unanticipated late arrival, due to traffic and road conditions, to extending my stay, several times, without any inconvenience to me, Kathy was a perfect host. Responsive and helpful in every way, Kathy also generously accommodated some special needs we had. Kathy’s place is terrific for short term stays, of course, but it is absolutely perfect for longer-term reservations. We will be returning, once again to help out family, over the next couple of months, and we plan on reserving this wonderful apartment, again.Thank you, Kathy!

I LOVE it here!

This condo is just perfect for my needs. Kathy is always attentive and gracious. You will be met with a room out of better homes and gardens. From the bed, the bedding and the decor, you will feel like you're in the fanciest of hotels. The bathroom has 2 sinks, solid surface countertop, and separate bath from the dressing area. This unit is close to the National Mall, Arlington, and all the "tourist" things many people like to do. It's quiet too. The Balcony overlooks the "park", and pool, and you can sit there and watch the planes landing far into the distance at Reagan Airport. If you're looking for splendor, peace, and a place that's close enough yet far enough away.. this is it. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful apartment near Old Town Alexandria in safe neighborhood

Our experience was really great! Kathy was very accommodating; met us at 1am when our flight came in. We had a small issue with the coffee pot and she resolved it very quickly. The apartment is cozy, and the area is very safe. There is a park across the street you can walk around, with a museum too. About 10 minute walk there is a shopping center with lots of shops and restaurants. 15 minute drive to Reagan National Airport. Depending on traffic, a 15-30 minute drive to the National Mall (where the monuments are). Not close to a Metro station, but there is a Metrobus stop directly across the street, which will get you to the Metro quickly. Our only advice is, you may want to bring your own pillow. Ones in the room are a little hard for sleeping. We will definitely recommend this apartment to our family and friends, and will likely stay again if we come back to DC!

Lovely nice hotel-like feeling

Super duper great host. Very organized and great at communicating. Very comfortable bed and great large bathroom area. The view from the balcony is fantastic with enormous lush green trees which makes for a enjoyable walk through. There is a gym with is big and has very new equipment. The swimming pool looked very inviting however it is only for residents, not guests (as I understand it). The location very close to the freeway which is handy and grocery store etc are near by. The complex is a large apartment (about 15 stories) building where dogs are allowed to live. And many of the residents are dogs.

ritz carlton room at holiday inn prices... plus a full kitchen !!!

The place is like a ritz carlton mini-suite... elegant, clean and beautiful.. the complex is awesome and has a pool, on site "7-11" style store, but with also a laundry / dry-cleaners built in... Kathy was so easy to work with ... she even met me early ( like 7am ) to check in - try that with a regular hotel ! - they will make you wait until 3 pm -- or later.... Full, totally equipped kitchen and plenty of closet space ( something else you don't get in a hotel ) love the place and the host. would definitely come back when going to DC

Adequate but lacking essentials

The unit is as shown except for the kitchen. There are no pictures of the kitchen and that is probably because it has not been updated. It is woefully lacking the essentials such as serving plates, collander or drainer, wine glasses, corkscrew, serving utensils - less than the bare minimum of utensils. There are cracks in the kitchen window and large burns on the counter tops. I found the kitchen to be quite depressing. The bathroom has been updated and shows nicely except that there are no towel bars on which to hang your towels, only in the shower. It is adequate - balcony pleasant and location good.

Dear guests, All pictures are accurate the listing does show the kitchen Please do not judge my condo by 1 of 13 reviews I take pride in my condo and have stayed here myself and still do when visiting my mom and not wanting to drive home to the farm I'm really in shock over this review especially when I was never contacted with any problems with the month of your mothers visit here except for when she needed extra hangers and parking pass which I brought over the very next day and when she needed help with working the phone message machine I also met your mother in person and returned her deposit and she had not expressed any issues in the review before posting I'm sorry she felt this way from our conversation she knew this was a studio and not a huge space to entertain family Thank you

Would highly recommend for short or long term stays!

Kathy responded quickly and was very informative when we contacted her for information on the Condo. My husband needed a long term place to stay close to DC for work and we had several questions and concerns. She put our minds at ease and made rental process and set up very easy. The condo has everything you need for a long or short term stay. WiFi, Cable TV an I-Pad you can use if needed. It also has a kitchenette area stocked with needed supplies as well as laundry on the same floor. It is a perfect place to stay if you want to be minutes from DC without actually having to stay in DC. I would highly recommend this condo for short or long term stays!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kathy’s cozy studio condo decorated with tasteful furnishings, adequate closet space, a very convenient double sink vanity, a beautiful view from the covered patio, and an extremely comfortable bed accented with plush pillows and bedding. Kathy also included free wi-fi access, an ipad, pre-paid laundry card, and very quick and knowledgeable responses to our questions. Especially helpful, yet unexpected, was Kathy’s offer to drive us to a highly recommended Alexandria waterfront restaurant.
