About owner/property manager
Mary is a retired business woman from Washington. She has travelled to several countries and when deciding on a place to retire visited Ajijic and like many others fell in love with the warmer, more colorful, and slower pace of life here. She has remodeled the house to include a main house and three casitas which she enjoys sharing with people from around the world.

A bit of heaven
The casita is a perfect spot from which to enjoy Ajijic. It is very attractive and open to a lovely courtyard garden full of birds. The kitchen is well supplied and as the grocery store is just a few blocks away, we cooked most of our meals there . From the mirador you get a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains. Mary is very helpful and accommodating. I would gladly return for a longer stay.
Thank you for your kind words. It makes my day when I know that my guests have had a positive experience. April is a great time of the year to experience Ajijic. All the best and hope to see you again.
Absolutely Loved It!
We had a really wonderful experience staying in Mary's casita for a month. It is a gorgeous place all the way around. The casita is tastefully decorated and very comfortable both inside and out. In addition, Mary was a terrific host- so friendly, helpful and enjoyable to talk to! We also got quite attached to Charlie, her sweet and polite dog. We also loved the location - close to downtown Ajijic, San Antonio, and an undeveloped walk along the lake. We highly recommend this place!
I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I think it was made better by the fact that you had friends here to do things with. You really made the most of your visit....artists and musicians :). I look forward to your next trip.
We Stayed at the beautiful Casa de Colores Feb 20th-feb 27th. What a gem it is. It is beautifully decorated and maintained. No better hosts than Mary & Charlie. Great location too. My husband and I enjoyed the garden and sunbathing up on the Mirador with lake/mountain views and the horses trotting along the cobblestone streets with Mexican The whole community is very helpful and kind. Every day we did some kind of excursion and took advantage of the affordable taxi services. Went to the hotel Balmeario in San Juan Cosala for the day and used the thermal spa and hot springs therapy. Another day we went to Tonala for the market. I suggest going on a thursday instead of Sunday so U can it the shops too since we love unique Mexican pieces. We went to Chapala for a day too and our cab driver stopped even along the way so we could buy some talavera tiles. We spent a lot of time too walking through Ajijic. They have an awesome farmers market in wednesays with beautiful unique affordable treasures. Wonderful places to eat at affordable prices.
I can only hope/dream and pray that one day we will be as blessed as Mary has for this been for an opportunity such as this. She manages it effortlessly. Thank u Mary for being so marvelous. We miss u, Charlie and Ajijic and plan on returning sooner than later.
So good to know that you enjoyed your stay in Casa de Colores and that Ajijic is on your list for a return visit. It was a pleasure meeting you and Harry and I hope we can keep in touch. Thank you again for the little soaps. The fragrances are wonderful. Hasta Pronto

We miss you and Charlie and hopefully will get the opportunity to get that way again!!!! If you're going to Ajijic...look no further...stay at this lovely Casita!!!!
Thank you Rhoda & Jack for this review. It I was great having you visit Casa de los Sueños. I enjoyed our trip to Viva Mexico. Our weather has changed now and the days are in the high 70’s. You are always welcome back. Happy Valentines Day :)
We had a wonderful and relaxing week staying with Mary and Charlie, in this beautifully decorated casita, in a quiet area of town yet in walking distance to everything! Fully equipped kitchen, beautiful yard, spacious rooms, there was nothing missing. Hoping to return to Ajijic soon and staying in this beautiful casita again! Thx again Mary, Monik and Daniel
I am glad you enjoyed Casa de Colores and your time in Ajijic. Your mother was counting the minutes until your arrival. Take care and the doors are open for you both anytime.
Ajijic has it all: Galleries, restaurants, cafes, lake and mountains. Stroll the treelined cobblestoned streets. Visit the open market on Wednesdays and get a real flavor of Mexico from foods to traditional crafts. Relax after walking the length of Ajijic's malacon ( boardwalk) where you will see flocks of pelicans, herons and cranes. It is just a 10 minute walk to the Lake Chapala Society which offers a wealth of information about the area and its activities. There is a reason why this area is so popular with visitors from around the world. Yes, National Geographic gave it the distinction of the second best climate in the world, but there is so much more.
