We fell in love with this cute, nicely decorated home. Near beach and quite area. We didn't realize they accepted pets. There was a pretty bad flea infestation. We contacted the management company and they had someone come straight out to spray but if anyone has ever had a flea issue they know it is very hard to get rid of them. The exterminator was able to cut down on the amount of fleas but they were still pretty bad. My son had bites all up and down his legs. We probably won't stay here agian because they allow pets. If you don't mind the risk and have an animal it would be a great place. All in all a good week minus the pests :)
What a pleasant surprise. This home offers every luxury of home. The listing agent wasn't sure what supplies would be in the home other than start up stuff, but we found there to be dish detergent, laundry detergent, basic pantry items, coffee and filters and beach chairs. The quality of the furnishings was excellent. From the pots and pans to the linens we were really satisfied with our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beachside Bungalow in August. The house is a new construction, so everything is pristine, from the floors and appliances to the furniture and kitchen supplies. The house was the perfect size for our family of three (two adults and a baby). The living quarters are all on the second level of the home, which made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere away from the street. We cooked almost every meal at the house, and even with our complicated recipes we had everything we needed in regard to tools and appliances. The grocery store is only about a five minute drive from the house.
The house is about two blocks (or a five minute walk) from the beach. The beach was quiet and uncrowded, and not at all touristy, which is exactly what we wanted. We felt like we were a part of the neighborhood. The walk was fine, but we would probably look into staying beachfront next time. You do have to cross a slightly busy road to get to the beach, but it was never a problem for us.
The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean (other than a little sand here and there, which is expected). There are plenty of towels and extra linens for daily life and beach-going. The outdoor shower was handy.
A few negatives that kept this from being 5 stars: There were crazy freaky spiders in the trees everywhere around the house, in the neighborhood, and on the public access paths to the beach. Not being from Florida, that took some getting used to. Luckily, the house has a screened in porch that kept the spiders out. The TV was oddly placed in the living room- you can't really see it from the couch and it was too high. The bedroom doors are not solid - they are slatted to add to the beachy design of the house. It looks cute, but you can hear everything that is happening on either side. Even with a white noise machine in his room, we felt like we had to tiptoe around so that we wouldn't wake the baby. There were some dead bugs (small roaches) in the garage and downstairs. We weren't surprised, because it is the humid south, but if that bothers you, it's something to consider. There was no garage door opener, and we didn't have the garage code, so we had to get in and out of the car to open and close the garage every time. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying.
The water filter on the faucet and the citrus juicer were a nice bonus! Lovely place to stay, and highly recommended.
