About J. Ben and Susan Primicias

Hello! We are Ben & Susan Primicias and we'd like to welcome you to the St. Lawrence River! We live just 25 minutes away in Watertown, N.Y. and come to the river as often as we can. It is a beautiful place to relax, play and meet lots of great new people.

J. Ben and Susan Primicias purchased this cottage in 2013

Why J. Ben and Susan Primicias chose Clayton

Our property is located In Fisher's Landing, NY in the town of Orleans. We are situated half way between Alexandria Bay and Clayton, two amazing little "gems" tucked away in the heart of the 1000 Islands. We love this property because it sits right at the water's edge, it is clean and beautiful and ever changing. The wild-life, fishing and ships are amazing and captivating. Sitting on the dock is the most peaceful place to be in the early morning hours as the fog lifts, drift fisherman float by, and fish jump right in front of you. It just never gets old!

What makes this cottage unique

We had this cottage remodeled the fall after we purchased it. We had the ceiling raised, new floors, windows, counter tops, and bathrooms put in. The open floor plans now allows you see everything that happening on the river at anytime. Last year we installed new curtains for privacy which added to the coziness of the cottage. The spacious front porch is like having an additional room to entertain. It affords a full view of ships and boats in the channel and the perfect place to watch the spectacular river sunsets. This past fall, we added a driveway, sidewalk and stone wainscoting around the cottage.

Bright Mornings on the Waterway

  • 4 of 5

My 89 year old mother, my husband and I all enjoyed our stay at this wonderful location on the St Lawrence. The neighbors were friendly and quiet. The cottage was well equipped for just about any vacation need. The owners, Susan and Ben were helpful and available to us before and during our stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit this area and to be close to all the fun the area has to offer.

A wonderful cottage on a beautiful river

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here in September but when we returned home, some family matters kept me very busy and I forgot to write a review. I came across a few pictures today from our stay and I just had to sit down and write my review. First of all, the previous reviews say it all! No exaggeration. The cottage was beautiful, clean and spacious. There were beautiful flowers all around the outside of the cottage which I appreciated very much. The location was great, as, we were in between Clayton and Alexandria Bay. If you can tear yourself away from sitting on the porch with a cool drink and gazing out at the sun on the river, these are quaint places to visit. The sunsets were more amazing every night. A visit to Boldt Castle is a must! I can't write a review without mentioning the owners. Susan was great. She answered any emails that I sent, most within 24 hours, and happily answered all of my questions. We met Ben the morning that we were leaving. He was so warm and friendly. I could go on and on, but, I recommend that you just book this beautiful cottage and see for yourself. You won't regret it!

The house was clean and had all the comforts of home. The property was in a great location to the main attractions the area had to offer and was in a beautiful spot. I would warn renters that some of the attractions of the area do close early in the season. We particularly enjoyed the Uncle Sam boat tours and visits to the castles. Many towns are close by but Clayton and Alexandria Bay are some of the busiest of the local small towns. Some of the local restaurants were good- and Susan and Ben offered valuable information/recommendations. We also enjoyed seeing the Remington museum and a couple of lighthouses. Kingston in Canada is also close and a nice city to visit. The owners of the property were lovely. We would highly recommend this house as a place one would enjoy for vacation. VRBO was also a decent company to work with. Elyse and John DeMadaler

Great getaway!

The property is very well-kept and the guests' needs were very carefully considered throughout. Sunsets by the river were amazing. And exploring the area by boat was a unique experience. Highly recommended!
