Villa Ponte - Cala Galdana

Villa Ponte es una magnifica casa, rodeada de una gran parcela con una ubicación privilegiada sobre una de las playas más emblemáticas de Menorca, Cala Galdana. Desde su terraza y piscina se divisa toda la playa.

La Casa consta de 6 dormitorios dobles ,5 de ellos con dos camas y una habitación con cama de matrimonio y baño ensuite. Las demás habitaciones se reparten otros tres baños, todos ellos renovados y actualizados.

El salón-comedor junto a la cocina, separada, forman el eje central desde el cual se da acceso a la magnifica terraza cubierta-descubierta y piscina.

La cocina está totalmente equipada con vitrocerámica, horno eléctrico, lavaplatos, nevera tipo combi, microondas, además de tostadora, kettle y otros pequeños aparatos.

La Villa está preparada y equipada para 11 personas con una decoración de estilo menorquín, simple y funcional para el verano. Hay que mencionar que 3 habitaciones están en el primer piso que se accede por una escalera de caracol y otras dos en la planta baja que también hay que subir unos pocos peldaños. El último dormitorio está en la planta baja sin peldaños. La cama de matrimonio es de 150 cms. y las individuales son de 80 y 90 cms.

A la playa se accede por una escalera muy próxima a la casa o bien bordeando la calle y caminando aproximadamente 900 metros. Los bares y restaurantes más próximos se encuentran a 700 metros.

Un tramo del Camí de Cavalls que pasa por las playas de Cala Mitjana y Cala Mitjaneta, arranca justo enfrente de la casa.

Debido a la gran vegetación autóctona que rodea la Casa, no está permitido el uso de la barbacoa.

This villa was in a superb location and the rooms were very comfortable. We all had lots of fun splashing in the pool too.

The property was absolutely beautiful. Great location with incredible views!

The villa was set back off the road so had a lot of privacy from surrounding trees. The interior is modern and very well kept, clearly professional cleaners are used to maintain the property. The pool was great and a good size for our big group. The view from the back of the property on to the beach was fantastic and you can get a great view of the sunset from there. Cristina was great throughout the booking process and meeting us at the airport to sort all of the deposit and information out with us, plus she always responded quickly to messages which is always appreciated. Would recommend this villa as it was amazing value for money and absolutely stunning.

In need of some loving care.

Large villa set very high in the cliffs offering a spectacular view of the bay below. The walk down and up is especially tough even for the super fit. The villa in its day must have been beautiful however now it has become a little rundown. The gardens to the front is overgrown and the back has some beautiful plants and trees but they again need attention. The pool is a bird paradise with its lapping sides so there is a continuous stream of bird bathing even whilst you swim! The pool was freezing in early June as the trees shade it a little too much. There are no umbrellas with the sun beds which was disappointing i know the garden is shaded by the trees but when it shone through they would have been nice. Rats live in the trees and the cliff so we were unfortunate when one came in the villa and was in the downstairs bedroom where the children slept. Menorca travel the hosts came out quickly and removed the rat and put down poison. We were reassured the rats are not the same as the rats in the UK and do not carry the same diseases and live in the tree in the garden and the cliff. In side the house there is no air conditioning but because the garden is so shaded front and back we were not hot. The house has single beds in every room apart from the master bedroom. This room is reached by a spiral staircase with a wobbly handrail so really not ideal for children. We had three children under 4 in our family and this villa is not suitable for toddlers.

Hola Karen, Thank you very much for your comment. We are very sorry that a rat had entered the house, as we explained to you, they are not city rats that live in sewers. These rats, in Menorca are called "Ratas Sardas (Sardinian rats)" live in the countryside, in your case on the cliff, they are not aggressive nor do they transmit diseases. Nor had it ever happened to us that a rat had entered in a house, the truth is that we think it is something out of the ordinary. I understand that for a small child the spiral staircase must not be easy, but upstairs there are only 3 of the 6 rooms in the house. Normally the house is reserved by families and we have never been told that it was dangerous. In any case, we hope to see you again soon in one of our houses in Menorca. Die Aussicht ist unglaublich schön!!!! Der Pool ist super!Die Zimmer - es sind 6 Doppelzimmer und 4 Bäder. Ein Bad hat eine Badewanne mit Duschvorhang, das könnte sicherlich renoviert werden, aber es war sauber. Die anderen 3 Bäder haben eine Dusche mit Duschwand.Die Küche ist groß genug zum kochen, das Geschirr (wir waren 8 Personen) ist ausreichend, wenn auch nicht auf dem neusten Stand. Sicherlich könnte die Küche auch eine Renovierung vertragen. Der Kontakt mit Reservas Menorca war super. Wir hatte bei der Abreise sogar bis 12:00 Uhr Zeit, anstelle bis 10:00 Uhr.Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Fantastic location, amazing views!

We have just returned from a 9 night stay in this superbly located villa. The views of Cala Galdana bay are fantastic, even if the steps up are hard work in the August heat! We found the pool area to be very clean and there to be no problems with the fencing as identified by an earlier review, so assume this has been fixed. The layout of this villa suited our 2 families, one upstairs and one in one side of the downstairs. There was plenty of cutlery/crockery/seating/sun loungers for all our party and everything was clean, a lot of it looked new. I have to give a special mention to Cristina who was the most receptive person I have met in dealing with a letting. She responded in a timely manner to all my requests for info, she organised some rentals for us and was happy to let us stay later on our check out day as there were no guests booked in. Breathtaking view and excellent location

We just returned from Menorca and Villa Ponte and were a group of 7 including 2 young children. Pros: • the most beautiful sea view over the bay. • excellent location 10 min walk down steps to the resort. We managed this just fine with a 4 year old, 2 year old and fit 74 year old amongst us. (Top sneaky tip, we walked 5 mins along same road to Melia Hotel and used their lift to go down and up when feeling lazy!) • pool is really warm although not heated so don't have problem of v small kids getting cold. • great driveway for about 3 cars • beautiful view from master bedroom • DVD player so took some movies for the kids. Cons: • the fence which run the length of the cliff face and right next to pool made me worry all holiday. It's a pretty flimsy metal grid fence where many of the original fence clips that hold the panels together were missing and replaced by pieces of twisted wire some of which were a bit rusty. Beyond this fence is literally a sheer drop off a cliff so I was not happy letting the children near this fence at all. This is something that needs urgent attention in the villa. • pool was a bit dirty. Very mouldy underneath drain surrounding the pool and green mould in the grouting in the pool. Didn't worry us too much but needs a good clean. • kitchen is a bit inadequate for a very large party. 1 hob ring doesn't work properly, oven only had 1 shelf, oven dials got so hot you could barely touch them, oven gloves were too thin, no toaster as advertised, fridge was too small for 7 of us so if you had 11 it wouldn't work too well. • whole villa could do with a bit of maintenance some knobs missing, bit old fashioned decor but nothing massive. • the kitchen window didn't appear to close at all so someone could have got in. • no information book at all. We didn't know what to do with bins, check out time, local info, fire safety info, when cleaners would come, when linen would be changed, how to operate things in villa etc. This is really vital in any rental. • no beach towels. We didn't bring any so the white towels kept getting dirty. Most villas we have rented provide these. I bring up these points as they are pretty simple easy fixes and hope the owners take note as this would make this villa a 5 star. Top tips: • Ate at Cala Mitjana & Alaska restaurants both good. • Ate at the Class Nostra Italian in the Melia. Service very slow, food average and a bit pricey. • Mercadona supermarket cheaper than Lidl and better range.
