Fully Furnished, Convenient Downtown Location
The Roanoke Valley is like no other destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. With urban delights and modern amenities in bustling downtown Roanoke to classic Americana in quaint small towns, there is so much to explore. Don’t miss out on any of the history, culture, shopping, and especially the endless outdoor fun.
At the center of the Roanoke Valley lies its namesake, the City of Roanoke, a vibrant city that combines pulsating urban energy with genuine southern charm. As the largest Virginia city west of Richmond, Roanoke is the cultural and business hub of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city is home to a thriving arts scene that includes a symphony, ballet, theatre, lots of art galleries and the nationally known Taubman Museum of Art. Downtown Roanoke is a treasure trove of unique shopping and eclectic restaurants. It's truly a great place to include on any visit to the region, but to fully understand the Blue Ridge Mountains you'll have to explore the rest of the scenic valley.

Had a wonderful visit in Roanoke. Will return.
The location near down town was convenient. Condo clean and was nicely stocked with kitchen supplies. Neighborhood was quiet.
Central location. Very comfortable apartment, but with some noise issues
My wife and I rented this property for a week during a 5 week road trip to explore central Virginia
The accommodation is a mature property, situated alongside a very busy road. Although the apartment (we had unit D on the first floor) was double glazed, we did not find it possible to have an undisturbed night’s sleep due to the traffic, especially at peak times and with the number of emergency vehicles with sirens sounding using this route. Parking was provided – a permit was available to make use of the adjacent parking lot. Externally, the appearance of the property is very welcoming, and on entering we were most impressed with its cleanliness. The bedroom is well proportioned with plenty of storage. Linens were of a good quality although we found the mattress on the double bed a little soft for our liking. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over a small bath. It worked efficiently and there was always ample hot water at good pressure. There were plenty of soft, fluffy towels for us to use. The living area has a comfortable settee and an arm chair. There is a modern TV with the usual cable package. In the dining area there was a high table and chairs for two. The kitchen has a four ring hob and oven. There is a large fridge / freezer as well as a full sized-dishwasher. There is a washing machine and separate tumble dryer – this is a very useful facility for those renters staying for longer periods of time. All the appliances we used worked well and were very clean. There were modest amounts of crockery, glassware and cutlery. The wi-fi was very effective. Externally there is a small deck to the rear with a table and two chairs.
Other residents were quiet – we didn’t meet any of them during our short stay although the wooden floors mean that you could hear people walking about and using the bathroom. We found the air conditioning effective at keeping the temperature in the apartment cool but it was quite noisy when it came on. Maybe it’s something residents would get used to.
We felt a little uneasy about the personal security to the rear of the apartment. Although the bedroom had a locked door, it opened onto a wooden fire escape. These in turn led to a steel gate, but this could not be locked and was left open. As a result, anyone passing by could access the rear of the property. It would have been good to have the extra reassurance of a secure area to the rear.
A special word of thanks to Jill for the contact leading
We are pleased to know that you found the unit clean , well located with ample supplies and amenities. Most importantly, that you enjoyed your stay in Roanoke.
This unit is located very near downtown so road noise , emergency vehicles, etc have to be expected.
The rear entrance that leads from the small balcony into the bedroom is secured according to local housing codes. The iron fencing around the rear of the building is part of the original structure and is intended for decorative purposes more so then security.
Comfortable & Clean
My wife and I spent a week in lovely little apartment. Has everything you need for a wonderful stay. We plan to stay here every time we visit Roanoke. Thank you Jill for all your help.

clean and comfy
my husband and i spent the weekend here, was very clean on arrival, and we were very comfortable, didn't use the kitchen much, but could have easily prepared meals if needed. we walked everywhere, easy to get downtown, and we also walked to Black Dog Salvage and Grandin Village,-which didn't have lot, but Black Dog was really neat. We also walked to Mass at St . Andrews. I found it easy to make a reservation, we received our security deposit promptly, and the property owners were great to deal with. The only reason I didn't give 5 rating was street noise, we were not expecting that, and we live in downtown Charlotte. Some soundproofing would be helpful, and the lock on the bedroom door to the balcony was not reassuring.
Charm and comfort
We spent a week in Roanoke and found the apartment extremely comfortable and charming!! Building and apartment are extremely well maintained. Apartment has all of the comforts of home. Kitchen has all of the necessities and we were easily able to prepare meals. Appreciated the washer and dryer in the apartment. Location is perfect - within walking distance of downtown area and within easy driving distance of stores and the mountains. This is a perfect place for a couple.
We visited Roanoke to see family there, and found the apartment was very easy to find and navigate from to the homes of our relatives in other parts of the area. On Saturday morning we walked from the apartment a short distance to the downtown farmers and artisans market, and that was delightful. The building itself gives a classic and historic feel, and the one-bedroom apartment was perfect for us as a couple ... very comfortable, complete, and having everything we needed for our two-night stay.
