A traditional 18th Century 2 bedroom terraced cottage in the historic & very pretty Surrey village of Godstone. The village features in the Doomsday Book and was once a stopping off point for royalty traveling from London to the South Coast. It has many quaint old buildings and a traditional village green complete with duck pond. There are 4 attractive pubs in the village, a cafe, tea rooms, a post office, small food shops, antique and gift shops, a chemist and a farm shop selling locally produced meat and vegetables. There are some lovely local walks in the area and it is ideally located for exploring Surrey and Sussex and also has easy links by train to central London and easy access to the M25 motorway. Gatwick airport is a 15 min drive from the house and Heathrow airport is approx 30 miles via the M25 motorway. The house has an enclosed porch with cupboard, coat hooks and shoe storage space leading to a cosy sitting room with fireplace, bookcase, sideboard, side tables, internet, gas central heating and 40" wall mounted flat screen Smart TV. There is a large very well equipped kitchen diner with electric cooker and hob, microwave, slow cooker, sandwich toaster, coffee machine, mixer, hand blender, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We have equipped the house as our second home and provide plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, and cooking pans. You will enjoy our luxury downstairs bathroom with his and her sinks and fabulous shower/bath. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with king size bed and John Lewis bedding, and plenty of wardrobe space and a small single bedroom equipped with bunk beds (suitable for adults) and a chest of drawers. There is a handy second toilet with sink upstairs. The house is best suited to 3 guests, although 4 can be accommodated. Please note that the house is not equipped for very small children and isn’t suitable for children under 3. The house is set back from the road with a long front garden and another enclosed garden to the rear of the property which has a small deck, stone patio and wooden table with 4 chairs. There is plenty of free on and off road parking in the side turning next to the house, this is unrestricted and a cul-de-sac.

Lovely accommodation with a convienent location to visit London and many other points east, west and
A great time was had by my family of four.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay, and hope you had a good flight back home
Very cozy, comfortable and nicely equipped property
The house was ideally located for our purposes as we needed to visit family and friends in Kent and Bucks, so being so close to the M25 was perfect. We also needed to get to London and Oxted station provides good service and covered parking and after 10:00 a.m. it's free, so no messing around with finding change or credit cards!
As expected, the house is very compact, but comfortable and nicely equipped. We didn't spend much time there (as we were too busy eating at our favorite pubs), but it had everything we needed. The bed is comfortable and the downstairs bathroom has a great shower.
Although we would highly recommend the property, a couple of notes of caution - if you are a senior citizen, or slightly infirm, the stairs may be an issue as they are very narrow and steep. We also found parking to be a bit of a challenge as there are a lot of small houses/flats sharing the three available unallocated spaces. On most occasions we had to park on the street or 50 yards further up the road in a bay of three other unallocated spaces.
A wonderful location for us
We happily settled into the cottage and found everything we needed to make this our home from home. Easy to find by car and within an hour of so many historical sites, not to mention the beautiful Surrey, Kent and Sussex countryside.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Godstone and hope you will return for another visit.
