A charming cottage in a wonderful location! The location is fantastic, with lovely walks along the sea right on your doorstep. Communication with the host was perfect from start to finish: quick, clear and friendly.A couple of points to be aware of: we found the beds uncomfortable, and the shower wasn't very practical to use.All in all, our stay was exactly what you'd expect from an old cottage: plenty of character and an unbeatable setting, with a few of the quirks that come with it.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the cottage, its wonderful location and our communication. We’re delighted you enjoyed the coastal walks and the character of our traditional thatched cottage. We were, however, surprised to hear your comments about the beds, as over the years, one of the things our guests have consistently highlighted is just how comfortable they find them. Of course, comfort is a personal preference, and we appreciate that everyone has different expectations. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the shower and will take this on board. We take great pride in maintaining the cottage's traditional charm while ensuring our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you again for staying with us, and we’re pleased you enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.

We had sunny weather all week so we could enjoy the garden and its shaded areas while hearing the surf just across the dunes. Deirdre was very helpful for us. Little gem this old cottage!

New Year Stay

We had a wonderful few days at The Dunes. The Cottage is small but that made it all the cozier. You could not want for anything in the Cottage and Dee had gone to a lot of trouble to put up Christmas decorations and give us a welcome feel. We got excellent weather, so we spent a lot of time walking on the beach. My dog Jessie also had a wonderful time playing int he garden and on the beach. I would definitely recommend the Cottage for a stay and would hope to return again sometime. Thank you Dee and her Manager, Mary.

idyllic

A beautiful cottage. Fully equipped with milk, sugar, tea, coffee, butter , assortment of jams and sauces, beds were so comfy even poo bags for 4 legged friends, brush and treats. Beautiful beach. Host should be complimented on her thoughtfulness. Just one suggestion, change light in kitchen to a LED light as it's very dark. It was my idea of heaven. Thank you Deirdre.

The most beautiful house in the vicinity

The setting of the house is remarkable. The best moment is coming home from the beach and looking down to house and garden from the top of the dunes. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds are excellent (sleeping 9 hours an more without back pain!). Due to the thick walls one should be aware that the wifi only works at some places: living room, kitchen, bathroom, through the window in the garden; but e.g. not in the room with the double bed. Many thanks for the excellent communication with the owner as well as the caretaker. This house is really worth the money!

Gorgeously looked after hideaway

From the initial conversation with Dee (the owner) and throughout my stay, everything was perfect. The Dunes is a wonderful bolthole and only a few moments stroll onto the gorgeous Balinesker beach.
