Charming one bedroom Gite in Rural Normandy.

A one bedroom character Gite set in rural Normandy offering good sized accommodation for two. Whilst rural the property is not is isolated and is just a few minutes walk from the village of Passais where you will find a wide range of services. The area is tranquil and peaceful just right for a relaxing break and to discover this lovely area. Locally there are a number of well regarded restaurants for those long lunches.
Within easy reach are a wide range of ineteresting places to visit including
Mont St Michel -1 hour drive
Chateau Falaise - Birthplace of William the Conqueror 1 hour
Domfront - Historic Medieval town 15 minutes
Bagnole de l'Orne - Very pretty spa town 30 minutes
DDay beaches - All the WW2 beaches are easily accesible 1hr30mins
Just a short list of the many interesting places to visit

The Gite has recently been renovated and has open plan living room/kitchen, compact shower room, good sized bedroom all with lots of character. There is a small woodburner to add character and keep you cosy in the evenings.
We provide free WiFi and the Gite has TV receiving both English Free to Air channels and NETFLIX (English & French) and a small library if you just want to relax and read.
Outside there is an area for soaking up the sun and ample parking.

Great property & Great host

Lovely cottage, really well equipped and very clean, quiet and comfortable. Hospitality from owners Samantha and Glenn was also excellent. Would thoroughly recommend as a place for a couple to stay when in Normandy.

Great Hosts

Glen and Sam are very friendly and welcoming hosts. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The gite itself is quite compact but ideal for a couple and has everything you would need. There are many interesting places to visit in the area, we didn't have to travel very far.

Beautiful property and spot ,hosts very welcoming and nothing too much trouble ,we went to view property's in the local area and the hosts knowledge was very helpful . Lovely, peaceful stay. Gite is very comfortable & kitted out with everything you'll need. The bed is particularly comfortable and there's British TV (should you want it). Glenn & Sam were lovely hosts. There was a lovely welcome basket & nothing was too much trouble. Glenn has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area, which was very helpful, and Sam booked all our meals out & looked after us really well. We came away with a lovely bag of pears off the garden tree - fantastic sauteed in butter with blue cheese & walnuts.The village itself is very quiet, so a car is essential to get out and about but then that's rural France.

We stayed at Glenn and Sam’s property in Domfront, rather than Passais-villages and it was really nice. We were there for less than half our planned holiday, but we made the most of the time we had.

Un gîte très bien équipé dans une région très agréable

Nous avons passé cinq jours en août chez Samantha et Glenn. Etant avertis que tout se passait en VO, nous n'avons pas eu de surprise ! L'intérieur est bien équipé, l'accueil de Samantha est très aimable. Il n'a pas fait assez beau pour que nous profitions de l'extérieur, mais c'est un bel endroit. Le seul bémol est la taille de la salle de bains, mais tant qu'il ne fait pas froid ou humide, on peut très bien faire avec . Et le poêle à bois doit être bien agréable !

Leuke gite aan de rand van een leuk dorp

Prachtige omgeving om uitstapjes te maken. Huisje ziet er van buiten goed uit. Slaapkamer en het bed Prima. Keuken vies, pannen met roestvlekken, en heb de opdracht gegeven om de koelkast schimmelvrij te maken. Badkamer ontbreekt, het is een WC kast met toillet, mini fonteintje waar je ook bij moest wassen en tanden poetsen, een kleine douchecabine, daar is op zich niets mis mee als het maar schoon is, vieze voegen en douche mat, verroeste rekjes en vieze wc, deze is na melding ervan wel schoongemaakt maar in onze ogen niet schoon genoeg. Leuk engels echtpaar en een warm welkom met een uitgebreide picknickmand. Dat was dan wel weer OK.

After 30 years in property management we made the decision to move to France on early retirement 8 years ago. We enjoy the relaxed lifestyle and have successfully offered our Gite to guests from all around the world. We are returning to the VRBO platform but have had a 9 out of 10 rating on another booking site.

Why they chose this property

Fell in love with the character of La Vente along with its location. Situated just a few minutes walk from the village centre where you find all you need. Its a quiet location within easy reach of many interesting place.

What makes this property unique

Quiet location but near to local bar and a few minutes drive to the charming village of St Fraimbault which has for many years won awards for its summer flower displays. There is a lovely lake with a bar perfect for just relaxing in the summer sun.
