About the property

Private 2 1/2 Acre Property, 2011 Adirondack Lakehouse; Sleeps 7 Incl. Gst Hs

“Hilamayna” is a lovely Adirondack – style lake house located on 2 ½ private acres on the most desirable east shore of Lake Kezar’s Upper Bay. The open deck, screened porch and master bedroom have spectacular views westward across the lake to sunsets over the White Mountains, from Baldface to well beyond Speckled Mountain. The property offers an unusual combination of privacy, yet easy access to Rte 5 for convenient shopping, dining out and day trips.

The shingle house was built in 2011 and consists of a main section that sleeps seven and a semi- detached guest house that sleeps two. The main section provides a large open plan kitchen, dining area, and living room with wood stove. The master bedroom with a French door onto the deck has a master bath with shower and bathtub. Two large open lofts upstairs provide sleeping for three on twin beds, with their own half bath immediately at the foot of the stairs. Down the stairs there is a private bedroom and full bath suite with it's own entry from the outdoors. The spacious and airy guesthouse is accessed through a covered breezeway off the main house. It has a queen sized bed and a full bath with shower. There is also a rustic bunkhouse with no plumbing that sleeps two, located mid- way down to the lake.. The property slopes down steeply through woods and a beautiful meadow to 335 ft of private shoreline. The house location about 90 ft above the lake provides great views and some welcome separation from lakefront bustle. At the shore there is a dock with swimming ladder and also a separate sitting /swimming area with Adirondack chairs, for more gradual access into the lake for small children. Two kayaks are provided. A mooring off the dock can be used for a small boat, which can be launched conveniently at the nearby public access ramp.

Amenities include WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and dishwasher. A washer and dryer are also provided.

About Elisabeth Foukal

Our family are longtime Kezar enthusiasts. We used to rent on the lake for many years before purchasing this dream location and building on it in 2011.

Elisabeth Foukal purchased this house in 2011

Why Elisabeth Foukal chose Lovell

Kezar is one of the few New England lakes that is not overbuilt; large stretches of shoreline are still pristine. It's location next to the White Mountains provides spectacular views unmatched by most lakes in Maine. Except for one small marina, the Kezar shoreline is untouched by commercialization.

What makes this house unique

All the privacy you desire but easy access to Rte 5 and golf, dining and outlet shopping. This property is located on the most desirable east shore of the Upper Bay of Kezar Lake, featuring close access for kayaking to the lovely Great Brook and Cold Brook nature areas; two kayaks are provided. A public boat ramp is located nearby for easy launch of small power boats.

A Spectacular Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My family had a delightful stay here - the mountain view from the cabin is just wonderful (sunrises, sunsets, and inclement weather were all a joy to watch). The facilities (kitchen, laundry, beds, etc.) were fully as-described and provided a very comfortable setting for a large group; the living room, dining room and porch provided ample space for everyone to relax. We visited with two toddlers, and they had a great time both in and around the cabin and down at the water (note that there is a 5-minute walk downhill to the lake). Highly recommended!

Spectacular Summer Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this summer home. The house is set up perfectly for a large family and the attached guest room is perfect for visiting guests. The view from the home is just as advertised with beautiful hilltop view of mountains off to the west. We spent many hours in the water and on the kayaks and the kids even caught a few small mouth bass off the dock. The property is private and quiet and has plenty of room down by the water for camping, grilling and lounging around. We had a great week.

Beautiful house on a beautiful lake with gorgeous views of the White Mountains. The lake was a perfect place for kayaking and swimming, and the house itself was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. The location was very private as well......wonderful family vacation!!

Awesome lake and comfortable private setting

  • 5 of 5

Hilamayna is a great mix of a beautiful and relaxing setting where you can enjoy as many, and as strenuous, an outdoor activity as you like. The Lovell area is quintessential northern New England and the local markets and cafes were great. Kezar Lake itself deserves every accolade and is absolutely pristine. The private waterfront has a dock area and a separate sitting area with a gradual, though mostly stony, water entry. The dock access is great for a boat and for jumping off the end and swimming about over a sandy bottom. We kayaked, water skied and tubed, hiked a few trails nearby, and took evening boat rides around the lake. Fishing would have been great. Many evenings we sat around the fire listening to the loons' evening calls. Although the house is situated a few hundred feet up the hill from the water, that also makes for wonderful views and sunsets across the water to the west. The layout of the house is great for lake living, it is well cared for, and it works very well for families. Even in the event of a rainy day there are board games, books, and ping pong. The owners were very easy, prompt, and fair to work with and we hope that we are able to get back next summer.

Beautiful home in a serene setting

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a fantastic time at Kezar Lake. The home was fully equipped to meet all of our needs. Working with the owner to prepare for our vacation was an easy, pleasant experience. The view from the home is spectacular. We sat on the deck for meals overlooking the lake and gazed at the the mountains beyond. We particularly enjoyed the seclusion. The home is tucked in the hillside and no immediate neighbors are visible. Also, whether looking from the house or relaxing at the dock, there are very few homes to see, just gorgeous lake, forest and mountains. We went on many kayak excursions, enjoyed swimming in the pristine lake, and just relaxing in the very comfortable home.
