Mark was very accommodating to all our questions and needsthe new gas grille was fantastic.The house was great and neighborhood with amenities also very good.Only slight downfall the cleaners were not done until almost 5:00 the day we arrived. This was a great place for a 3 generation family of seven. The living area was open and airy. The wrap around deck was great for family meals. It was partly shaded by the oak trees. We plan to come back again.

Perfect gathering place

We had a wedding in the area and wanted a place to gather 3 generations together. We chose this house because of the amount of sleeping space and open kitchen n living floor plan. It is absolutely gorgeous!! The amount of sunlight, the huge deck, ample seating, bikes, extra refrigerator and a game room made this the perfect place to make memories. Thank you

Great basecamp to explore the Silver Lake area

We had a great time and enjoyed the house and location. 5 minutes from the dunes entrance made things super convenient. Nice big house with lots of beds, nice deck space, garage and outdoor area. Would definitely stay there again. The only complaint was that there's no longer a propane grill at the property as was shown in the pictures and description. There's just a small charcoal grill that wouldn't work well for a large group, but fortunately I had brought along my portable Blackstone to use.

Perfect for the long weekend getaway!

The set up was great. Very quiet neighborhood. Close to the dunes which was the point of our trip. Had some issues with the heat schedule but the owner was really quickly to help remedy. We did wish there were some better knives for food prep. There were only 3 and they were very dull.

The house was large enough for a large group. Limited parking with noting only 4 vehicles in driveway. Property manager stated to pay to park somewhere else. Limited towels to one per guest. Two kitchen towels. Some beds were uncomfortable. Paid for cleaning but indicated house should be as clean as when we arrived. Overall enjoyed our time with family. We would not stay again in this VRBO.

Great Location!

This home is in a fantastic location with an easy walk to the association pool. We had 5 kids with us and they loved their time in the pool! We had a few bumps on our first day with some minor issues around the house, but Mark was extremely responsive and went above and beyond to make sure those issues were fixed immediately. He was very pleasant & easy to work with. We had 12 people in our group and there was definitely enough space and beds for all of us. The wrap around deck was so nice to have and there was more than enough seating outside for all of us. We grilled on July 4th & had a bonfire and then took the 5 min walk to the private beach area for the fireworks. The beach was very nice and we had a perfect view of the fireworks from where we sat. Overall, our family vacation was fantastic! Thanks again for everything, Mark!

Beautiful Home

This was a great place with more than enough beds for our group of 10. Huge fire pit and ample chairs. One was broken when we got them out but we brought our own along so we had enough for the group still. The kitchen is great, beds… were beds lol - not the most comfortable looking but nobody’s woke up hurting and that’s all that matters. The shower handle in the upstairs bathroom was missing the temp lever but it still worked - was just confusing for the first round of showers lol Overall this was a wonderful house and a great trip shared by a close group of friends. We were never able to get a response from the owner via phone, text or Vrbo messaging - but our questions were answered upon arriving to the property so no communication was really needed in the end. Would definitely stay here again. Oh, and the garage game/rec room was a nice touch :)

Dirty house

The house was full of Thousands of fruit flies. We had to buy our own stuff to try to get rid of them. We put out 6 bowls of stuff per day and they filled up with the flies. The house was located a nice distance to everything. The description was misleading. It is not on a beach. The private beach is across the street and there is no water access to swim. I think the owner needs to stop by once in awhile to check inventory of stuff. All the ping pong balls were broke. The foosball table had no balls. The kids doll house had broken furniture and very few pieces. No dolls. The house had a lot of room. I would not stay there again

Fun Family Time at Silver Lake

Our family has vacationed at Silver Lake several times over the past years. We started taking our kid there many years ago and now enjoy taking the grand kids. With a family of 13 people, we needed a place that could accommodate that size of group. This was our first time staying at this property. The sleeping areas were perfect for our group, as was the large kitchen table and outdoor deck area. I was a bit concerned with there being only two bathrooms, but we managed that reasonably well. The proximity to the community pool and basketball court were definite positives for our group. There was really only one disappointment and that was the absence of a large gas grill. Although the pictures showed a gas grill and Webber kettle, the property manager notified us with the move in instructions that there was no longer a gas grill at the property. Cooking for a party of 13 on a Webber kettle is a bit challenging. Other similarly sized properties that we’ve stayed at all had large gas grills. The property manager was very responsive whenever we had any questions. We had no need to contact the property manager for anything during our stay. All in all we enjoyed staying here and had a great time with family.

Wonderful house - big rooms - perfect for families!

I rented this house with my extended family, 8 adults and 3 small children. It was laid out beautifully, very clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable - everyone slept well. It's a quiet location, on a private road, so no traffic to worry about with the small children. The deck is phenomenal! So much room on the deck with ample, comfortable seating and two tables -- one to eat on & one to play games on! We utilized both. The main living area is huge & a terrific gathering place for lots of people. We spent a lot of time hanging there in the evenings just enjoying conversation and letting the little ones play. The bathroom set up was perfect with each set of two large bedrooms on either side of a bathroom. We cooked nearly every day and the kitchen was well stocked, all appliances worked great & got a lot of use. Coffee maker was newer and that also got a work-out with many coffee drinkers in the family. There's a medium sized back yard that was great for corn-hole, and we had one rainy day where we utilized the ping-pong table downstairs & also played quite a few games of chess in the living room. The Fire-Pit was large and well constructed. Plenty of space for everyone. The pool was nice, & Little Sable Lighthouse beach was so close - we went multiple times to enjoy Lake Michigan. Had to contact the owner regarding a few minor questions, and Mark was immediately reachable by text and very easy to work with. Highly recommend this house.

Nice stay

This property was a nice functional space. Good for our large family. Layout was nice. Makes eating together as a family enjoyable. Could use some love and a deep cleaning throughout however. Not terrible, but did find some toenail clippings and old floss picks from previous renters. Could maybe hide the bug traps better. Beds were ok. Thermostat is controled by owner. And they prefer it warm. First attempt at having the host allow us to drop the temp a little was met with" I'll ask the owner". But never a response. So checked ourselves later that day to find it would indeed go down to 70. Two days later it got up to 77 at bedtime. Host was not responsive at our second attempt to see if it maybe it was broken. It just started cooling again the next day thank goodness. It was a very warm rental to be in in August with an asthmatic and pregnant mama. They provided nice chairs for outdoors. Game room was nice for kids to relax and play in. They did have some spices and regularly needed stuff in the kitchen like baggie, foil, trash bags. No gabage disposal that I could tell. Plenty of blankets and pillows. Kitchen table will break your toes. Everyone got it at least once. Some twice lol. But overall a decent place.

Family long weekend Trip

Family trip to the Dunes area. The neighborhood was quiet as mentioned in description and everything we needed was there. Some of the outdoor amenities were done for the reason which we figured would be true due to timing. We were all able to find fun things to do for the family at the Mac Dune Ride which everyone loved and climbing the Dunes. The time of year was a bit off for many of the local businesses as they close down for the off-season timeframe, but we had brought supplies with us to make meals so it was no big deal. Next time we visit the area we will definitely try to do it before the late fall time-frame so there will be more Activities for the kids. The Arcade And go-cart were still going on and the Dunes were probably in the last 2-3 wks so we got lucky there. A beautiful area to visit. Our accommodations were what we expected, a few complaints about some of the beds and their comfy-ness and since it was cool and rainy more blankets would have been appreciated. It would have been nice if there were logs available for the outdoor fire pit because everyone enjoyed that part of the trip. We did find "some" logs for sale but it would have been nice if some were provided as it wasn't easy to find in the area. We would definitely visit again.

Great place for girls weekend trip

This is our fifth property and we love the whole process of hunting down just the right place, decorating and setting it up for vacationers, and then making it easy for people to come and enjoy!

Why they chose this property

This property is great on many levels. First of all, it's in great shape. The home is only 10 years old. It's also clean - which is a must for all our homes. It also has large spaces for the whole group to enjoy - along with separate spaces for adults and kids when they need a little space. It sleeps large groups - 15 people in beds which is also ideal for family groups. Lastly, it's in an awesome location - just down the road from the State Dunes Park (2000 acres of dunes), but Lake Michigan beaches, our own association beach (400 ft of frontage just a block or so away), plus there's a heated pool, tennis courts and shuffle board. It's a really nice place with a mix of activities readily available. We also have a hot tub and fire pit to top it off. Love it. We come here on fall weekends to enjoy it ourselves!
