1 Bed/1 Bath Stand Alone Cottage Located Behind Oceanfront Home

Less than 200 steps to the closest coastal access and world class surf, close to downtown, and easy and scenic 10 minute walk to the world famous Boardwalk, Santa Cruz main beach, and municipal wharf. The garden cottage is very charming, and is located on the grounds of historic landmark home, Epworth-by-the-sea. The unit was originally built in the late 1800's, and was used as a caretaker's cottage. It comes fully furnished, and includes basic cable and WiFi access (recently upgraded). Pets are welcome for additional fee if arranged in advance. Modern amenities with the charm of a bygone era.

About Khristina

Homeowner is an extrovert, but will take cues from guest as to how much interaction they would like. I live in the main house, and am available to guests 24/7 to answer any questions you may have about local attractions and activities. Observation of privacy can be expected at all times.

Why Khristina chose Santa Cruz

Location, location, location! This property is centrally located, and works out very well for those that are interested in experiencing and exploring our beautiful central coast. There is ample room in the adjacent garage for the storage of bikes, kayaks, surfboards, or other items you may be bringing with you. Beach towels provided. Private, sunny patio perfect for enjoying morning coffee.

What makes this cottage unique

Private, stand alone unit with no shared walls. We are close enough to the water that one can easy hear the waves crashing at night, and the occasional barking of the sea lions. :-) We are quite literally less than 200 steps from the nearest coastal access point (Cowell's Beach steps). Full service beach with facilities (showers, bathrooms, etc) is less than 1/4 mile away, and a 10 minute walk. Pet friendly, and four legged visitors seem to love the area as well! Please ask in advance about applicable fees is traveling with your animal companion.

Words can not describe this cottage... You must see it to appreciate it. I just loved it! The location is amazing, quiet and Khristine goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Also, the history of this cottage is amazing!! A must stay if you can!!!

Charming cottage, great location

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The cottage was clean and comfortable and I found it easy to feel at home. The location was the best part: very close to the bay yet removed just enough to maintain a sense of privacy that I appreciated. Easy walk to the wharf/Boardwalk for restaurants/entertainment without the hassle of finding parking. I walked along West Cliff drive every day to just enjoy watching the surfers and the marine life. Saw numerous sea otters, sea lions, dolphins, and even a humpback whale all from the shore which was a huge treat for me. My son will be living in Santa Cruz for at least 4 more years, and I would definitely hope to stay here again for future visits!

Exactly what we were looking for! The property itself was so amazing. Little cozy cottage behind an amazing historic home overlooking the beach . So bright and cheery. The bed was comfortable and cozy. The house had everything we needed. Khristina greeted us when we got there and let us know if we needed anything she was a phone call away. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. We could not have asked for more. Very happy with our stay there!
