Kuaotunu's Peebles Cottage

Intimate and quaint, our boutique cottage is set in peaceful farm surroundings alongside mature native bush and only minutes from the best beaches New Zealand has to offer, bird song, starry nights and Kiwi calls and much more🙂 We offer a touch of quality. Newly decorated now with an additional living area.. We welcome all with no discrimination.
Enjoy the elevated deck views into the bush. We are set well off the main road so quiet and peaceful. . You have a small separate under cover outdoor kitchen with a breakfast bar and equipped with a microwave, fridge, 1 element induction cooker and available on request a small oven plus a electric frypan and a toastie maker. You also have your own bbq. The sounds of native bird life is abundant, KIWI are heard at night which is unique and special in it's own right. Close to the most amazing beaches, bush walks, golfing, fishing and much more. Whitianga is 20 minutes away and Coromandel town about 30 mins, Matarangi, Opito, Otama and New Chum Beaches 8-15 minutes and Cathedral Cove about 50mins. Lukes kitchen our local has great food, entertainment & beverages. Along side our home and we totally respect your privacy and let you feel you are quite alone, though if you like a chat or need some help we are so happy to do that also.
We go out of our way to make you welcome and comfortable and offer the pearls of our local knowledge. We have chosen to make our little cottage along side our home available for the people out there that appreciate quiet, nature and a get away from it experience. Tastefully decorated, spacious and very comfortable, meets all your needs. no traffic, no street lights and no problem to us who value these treasures.

Beautiful stay with the most welcoming guests we’ve ever experienced. We stayed before Christmas, and Jane and Doug had a sweet present wrapped under the tree for us. They also had great recommendations of local beaches and walks, and we just generally enjoyed hearing about the land and all of the native bird life. Would highly recommend staying here

Couldn’t recommend Jane and Doug’s beautiful cottage enough, they’ve gone above and beyond and really thought of everything. Bed is super comfy, me and my partner had a week stay and it was so homely and comfortable. Outdoor shower was perfect for after our daily beach swims. Such a great location, so many awesome beaches and activities in the local area. The surrounding nature is so peaceful & such a nice refresh for us Aucklanders, we will definitely be coming back. Jane and Doug are such lovely people, thanks for letting us stay in this beautiful cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at the Peebles Cottage. The cottage provided everything we needed. Fresh bread, local milk, peaches from the trees. The Bach was clean and tidy and Jane and her husband were so welcoming.Jane recommended beaches to visit that were less crowded and hikes that we would never have known about.We also got to hear Kiwis calling to each other most nights.Would highly recommended Peebles as a perfect place to stay.Thank you guys for making us feel so welcome and sharing your local knowledge. Lovely place for a getaway

Jane and Doug are lovely, relaxed hosts and the little cottage is very peaceful, away from roads and from any neighbours except the hosts. A great base for the wonderful Coromandel. Would happily stay again.

A slice of paradise.

From the moment we arrived we instantly felt relaxed.Jane is such a great host, the bach was spotlessly clean, we found little treats and extras in the kitchen, lovely fresh fruit bowl and home made biscuits. It was so welcoming. Jane gave us lots of information about local trips. and places to see. We loved all the native birds around the property with a beautiful dawn chorus of bellbirds. We would recommend this place to anyone who loves the quiet and peace of staying in the country. The local beaches were only minutes away. Thank you Doug for the delicious freh snapper that you provided for us. Many thanks to you both.

What makes this property unique

Right along side native NZ bush and steam, kiwi dwell around the property along with abundant bird life and their sounds are amazing. The night sky is fabulous as we have no street lights or built up areas near by. We are minutes from some of the best beaches in the world. Tucked well away from the hussel and bussel of traffic, people and life in general, yet close enough to visit. explore, shop or eat out.
