About Esther and Stefan Schwarz

Esther and Stefan are Swiss, who have been visiting Tuscany for over 20 years. They enjoy the history, art, architecture, culture, food and wine that the region offers. When the opportunity arose for them to purchase a property on this famous estate they were very much attracted to its peaceful location, as well as its close proximity to the famous historical towns of Tuscany. They bought the beautifull Villa from David and Karen Conti.

Esther and Stefan Schwarz purchased this villa in 2015

Why Esther and Stefan Schwarz chose Siena Province

The Villa and its surrounding landscape present even better than the photographs show and the glowing reviews of past guests are testimony for its special appeal.

The Villa has been recently restored with the finest Tuscan materials and provides superior accommodation and facilities and have a private, heated pool.

Villa La Cappella is part of Villa d'Arceno. The antique splendor is still present in every farmhouse and traces of the ancient crafts are to be seen in not much known corners: what strikes today is the splendid harmony of the vines that follow the dancing movements of the hills and encircle with elegance the farmhouses.

Unpaved roads and footpaths wind among woods of holm-oaks and amazing alleys with cypress trees: who lives in these places breathes history and finds again peace and harmony, thanks to a respected nature. You'll find more information on

With your holidays at Villa La Cappella you support YMCAs (Founded in 1844 by George Willimas in London) as a non-profit organisation. Esther & Stefan invest there payments into youth.

The best villa in Tuscany!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our favorite rental among many we have tried. We had the fortune of staying at this house for a week in May. This really was just the perfect rental for a Tuscan getaway and our favorite among the many we have rented over the past few years in Tuscany. 30 min drive to Sienna and similar access to the many charming smaller towns in the area. It was everything advertised and more. The “more” part was how much time, detail and help that Stefan and Beatrice gave to us from the first email to them to our final communications after our trip was complete. Beatrice gave us a very warm welcome reception upon our arrival on the first day. She could not have been nicer to us. Her tour of the house and grounds made us feel right at home immediately. She was always available to us through our stay if we needed her, which made us feel connected to someone should we have a question during our stay. The lovely welcome basket was thoughtful and appreciated as we made dinner the first evening. The villa was gorgeous inside and out and was impeccably clean. The house is very centrally located to many of the Tuscan hill towns. Great home base for us as we drove daily to different towns, cooking classes, and vineyards. The villa had beautiful grounds and views of the surrounding rolling hills. So relaxing and peaceful especially at the pool and watching the stars on the terrace at night. The house was very well appointed so we were able to prepare food and cook easily with the accommodations. We felt so at home! We would totally recommend this villa to anyone looking for a quality and picturesque rental property run by people who care about their renters. It was a magical vacation and the villa was a huge part of that special memory.

Traumhafte Villa, super Standort

  • 5 of 5

Tuscany villa, a must!

  • 5 of 5

Six of us stayed at Cappella di Pancole as we holidayed in Tuscany. The villa was ideal with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, full kitchen facilities and laundry. We were able to cook our own meals and socialize together in the main rooms, verandah and pool. The villa has great scenic views and is only 15 minutes from the local village; close enough to be convenient and far enough removed to be private and tranquil. The welcome basket was a nice touch and much appreciated. The owners, Stefan & Esther were great and they were able to help us with suggestions of places to see and things to do; especially hints about local knowledge. Stefan even gave up a day to host our wine tour in the local Chianti region. A further highlight was our day with a local chef, Andrea Anichini. We accompanied him to the butcher, the organic farm, the grower's market, with some special surprise stops on the way. Later in the day Andrea instructed us how to prepare and cook a 5 course meal which he and his wife served to us on the verandah. Thank you Stefan & Esther for this recommendation- a fabulous experience.

We'll come back in October next year and will enjoy the new private and heated pool next to the Villa. The plan made by the architect looks great.

Heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

If you want to enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan hills, this is where you will find it! The Villa has the most spectacular views, the rooms are very spacious, modern bathrooms....everything you need for a perfect retreat ! At night it was so peaceful...we spend evenings sitting in the lounge chairs, covered with throws (which are at the villa) looking up at the stars, we saw shooting stars, the Milky Way and the most clear constellations. It was amazing! Based on Stefan and Ester's recommendations, we had a most memorable week! A cooking class at the villa, amazing car service and the such beautiful surroundings. It was so nice to leave our busy world across the ocean. Our first night, the quiet was unbelievable. No cars, no pollution, no city lights, no sounds, no NOISE. It allowed us to enjoy the moment, each and every one of them.

Equally impressive were Stefan and Ester. We only communicated by email but great responsiveness, great follow up, great service from their local representative Beatrice. They treated us as if they had known us for years and wanted to make sure, we were happy.

The house is so comfortable, we would go back in a heartbeat! During the day?we took trips (Siena, Pisa, Montepulciano etc.), but all 6 of us would have been happy to just be at the house!

If you want to be away from the every day busy world, enjoy great wines, want to be together, yet have privacy, yet have the flexibility of the world nearby, this is THE place to be. A slice of heaven on earth! Grazie Multibene Stefan and Ester.

Owner's Response: This is such a thoughtful and comprehensive review, which is a joy to read! We love guests who appreciate what La Cappella offers because of it's location, and surrounding area, with an exceptional range of facilities from restaurants and markets, to easy access to "must see" sights and cities - it's ideal for first timers to Tuscany. We try hard on to offer 5 star hospitality, and to have that recognised is also much appreciated! We are currently constructing a heated pool exclusive for our guests for the season 2017. If you like to visit us again you could almost jump from the terrace into the large private and heated pool or comfortably enjoy the sun in the many lounge-chairs available to you. The pool will be open from April until end of October. Do come again Greg!

Great villa in a wonderful location in one of the most pleasant places in Europe

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit to Tuscany, and each time we try to stay in a different area so that we can visit small towns as well as the typical tourist towns and areas. Capella di Pancole's location was ideally suited for this. We were able to visit well known cities from Assisi to Siena to Florence, as well as smaller towns like Asciano and Colle di Val d'Elsa (great morning market!) and many others. Of course the villa was equal to the beautiful photos, with all of the amenities provided (much more than typically provided). Beatrice was very accommodating in our arrival arrangements and, we had no problems finding the property using the GPS coordinates provided. We were able to observe harvesting of the grapes on the estate and take many walks on the estate (with occasional wild boar sightings).

Thank you Beatrice for your assistance and thank you Stefan & Ester for sharing your lovely villa!

Owner's Response: Obviously it wasa joy to read Carmen's review. Apart from it's generous comment, it also contains an accurate description of the property and the surrounding area, which is most helpful coming from a guest. She is also right, that we try to make our guests feel "at home" in sharing our marvelous good luck at having found this special place. So many of our guests return because La Cappella is centrally located, with easy access to so many famous places (Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Pienza, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi etc), on a wine estate, surrounded by beautiful scenery and ancient historic hilltop villages, where there are amazing restaurants. Do come again Carmen!

A peaceful retreat deep in the Tuscan countryside with all mod cons.

  • 5 of 5

This is a delightful villa situated deep in the countryside and is very peaceful. Despite its rural location it has all mod cons, it is a traditional Tuscan farmhouse that has been renovated to a very high standard using quality fittings. It has three double bedrooms each with its own toilet facilities and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is properly equipped with sufficient crockery and cutlery for all guests.

The owner has gone to enormous pains to provide comprehensive information both about the villa and about the area around describing things to do and placed to visit.

The property is managed by Beatrice who is wonderful. Very helpful, knows everything and always cheerful.

The swimming pool is some 60 meters away and out of sight of the villa, although shared we never saw anyone else there. Its distance from the villa has the advantage that it does present itself as a temptation to any small children in the party.

Last but not least is the terrace. It gets the morning sun and makes breakfast a wonderful experience with the warmth of the sun and the cool morning breeze it is total heaven. The view from the terrace is fantastic and it is a great temptation just to stay at the villa all day and relax there.

Owner's Response: David and his group were wonderful guests who made the most of their time in Tuscany. Not only did they enjoy all the features that Tuscany has to offer, they also appeared to like their quiet time spent in the Villa when they were not out and about. They had planned a two week long programme to see something of the best of Italy, and, in truth that is what it needs, because there is so much to see and experience. We want Villa La Cappella to be top of the list, because we really enjoy helping our guests to get the insider's view of this magical area. They would be most welcome to return anytime. Esther & Stefan
