About Sam Surprise

I live in the main house on the property and run my Marketing & Communications business out of my home. I have a lovely Bernese Mountain dog, Luccia, who is friendly with everyone.

Sam Surprise purchased this studio in 2004

Why Sam Surprise chose Portland

My Studio Suite is perfect for a couple who want more space and amenities than a hotel and want to experience coastal Maine in any season. The studio is newly built, has air-conditioning, hardwood floors and is great for active people who want to explore the coast of Maine north and south from the largest city in Maine,

What makes this studio unique

I moved to Portland 27 years ago from NYC and discovered the perfect place for me to live and work. I ski, I sail, I snowmobile, I hike, I ride balloon tire bikes, I travel the rural mountain roads in a Alfa Romeo and I do it all within minutes of my home. You can too.

A very cozy and clean place in a quiet neighborhood. Very easy to get to Portland.

A very attentive owner and the location made for a relaxing and fun vacation. Most of the places we visited were within a 15 minute drive. Lots of shopping and nice restaurants in downtown Portland and Kennebunkport was easy to get and worth a visit.

Very nice apartment and very well stocked with everything you need.

We had an excellent time exploring Portland and the surrounding area while staying at this property. It's located in a neghnorhood that's quiet and laid back but just a quick drive or an Uber to downtown and it's a 5 minute drive to the airport which is a huge plus. Sam was an excellent host and provided us with a ton of useful info. I would certainly recommend this property and would stay here again.

Great location - close to everything yet tucked away

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful visit to Portland and we so happy with our stay in this unit. I went with my parents, so 3 of us, but we still had plenty of space. We saw the sights in Portland each day, but were able to get back to a more suburban setting at night. Our first night there, we went to JP's Bistro for dinner, per Sam's recommendation, and couldn't have been more pleased with the place. So close we could have walked. We made use of the grill to eat in as well, which was a nice bonus most places don't have. We also hiked in nature preserve which has a hidden entrance just a block or two away.

Overall, the unit was very clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend it!
