When you book a rental space, and you enter the number of guests in the search or booking, the number of guests is reflected in the cost. For our property, the first 10 guests are the base. Above 10 it is $50 per person per night. This would have been very clear if, when entering the booking, you properly reflect the number of guests!!!! Please use the website properly! This is very standard for larger homes on both VRBO and ABNB. That this was a surprise surprises me. This it to cover the extra cleaning, laundry, supplies, wear and tear, etc as large groups have a very big impact on the house. As noted, the winter is a tough time and the roads are rough. This makes it difficult to get some services including trash. We do our best and promise it will never detract from your stay. The road is cleared by the best plow service i have had in 45 years in Vermont. That it was not plowed before you left is not a surprise- they try to wait until, 1. Most of the snow has fallen, or 2. enough snow has fallen that it needs to be done. They do not plow for every few inches. Most Vermonters understand how this works- this is Vermont, and is not Cambridge MA, or Westchester County NY. If my instructions are followed, and you have a good car with the proper tires, you will NEVER be in a situation where you cannot get up or down the hill. If that is the case, then it would be the storm of the decade. There are brand new spare cups and glasses in the pantry that could have been used if needed. Sorry you did not see them. This is a beautiful house with incredible views, spectacular setting and well maintained- but i fully expect people to use the vrbo website properly, read the listing fully, and not expect that this place will be like the urban setting that most guests are leaving behind.

So. Where to begin- if you are reading this review ask yourself why is it so different from the others? The reason is that I kept the security deposit for this group due to damage. I undercharged them based on the time the cleaner and I had to spend to get the place ready for the next group. On top of damage, they left the hot tub is terrible shape and left beer cans and other garbage on the ground outside. This 'review' is retaliation for making them pay for damage. They never reported any problems to me because there were none that required reporting. Japansese lady bugs? They hide in the fall and then come out when the weather gets warm or the sun shines. Infestation- no way. A few can be found here and there- that is the charm of Vermont.
