The Villa:
Enjoy stunning mountain views, elegant and elevated design inspired by the mountain setting and Austrian/Trapp legacy, along with the year-round activities and adventure.

Let the Villa serve as home base while you partake in the wonders of Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe Mountain Resort, the town of Stowe and the broader Green Mountains and Burlington.

With a king bed guest suite, bonus living room (two sleeper sofas), two full bathrooms, and some fantastic extras including a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, dining room, kitchenette, porch and more, you are in for a getaway you're not going to forget.

von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort:
The villa is situated privately on the 2,500-acre grounds of the von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort in idyllic Stowe, VT and boasts miles of trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, and outdoor joy.

You will enjoy FREE access to all resort amenities: pool, fitness center, hot tub, tennis and pickle ball courts, hiking trails, rock climbing wall, yoga studio, farming elements (sheep, cattle, maple syrup harvesting), and much more!

Aficionados respect the Austrian style beers of the von Trapp Brewing & Bierhall, which is within skiing or hiking/biking distance from the villa. The food is excellent with lots of kid-friendly activities onsite.

The resort has an evolving schedule of enriching seasonal activities (published on the website), such as horse-drawn wagon rides, tours of the property, baking classes, craft-making opportunities, yoga classes, seasonal evening campfires with s'mores, guided hiking tours, and more.

The cabin was very comfortably. Easy location to travel to nearby activities. The owner was very friendly and receptive.We did not know which door was the entrance to our cabin. I would recommend better signage or more information at check in. If possible, maybe trim some of limbs on the tree in front of the back deck. Currently, you could not see the views since the tree was full of leaves.The bonus room is across from the outside entrance to the cabin and then downstairs. We had no clue at first. Real nice big bathroom!!

Perfect get away

If you are looking for a quiet get away- this property is for you. Relaxing views of the mountains. Local hiking and biking on premises. Villas were located far enough away to give space and privacy. You are close to Von Trapp restaurants and amenities but you need to drive into Stowe for other entertainment/restaurants/pubs.

Wonderful in every way!

We loved the beautiful room with incredible bathroom! Also - beautiful setting at the Trapp Family location! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Highly recommend!

Perfect!

Suite was exactly as advertised; stay on Von Trapp lodge property even better than expected! We enjoyed the restaurant, the birthdays, the cross country ski trails and the hot tub. If you arrive early for check in or want to stay a little longer after check out there’s plenty of places to hang out and things to do on the property. Perfect! Can’t wait to stay again.

Impromptu trip

The villa was very nice. It was accurately described in the listing. Management communicated timely with me. We stayed in the guest bedroom portion of the villa. The only downside was the neighbors in the main villa had 3 dogs that barked when left alone

Beautiful location/ views. 3.5/5 stay

Great location, nice views. Host replied promptly. Check in was a little confusing. Was told Key cards would be in the actual lodge unit in the door jam before checking in. Had to go to the main lodge 5 minutes down the road and talk to a receptionist. Listing is a little deceiving. It’s One room connected to another section of the rest of the unit. Separated by 2 dead-bolted doors. Walls are paper thin and as mentioned by someone else, the neighbor had barking dogs that went off anytime you moved in or out. Lodge amenities are a drive down the road from the actual unit. Close drive to Stowe which was nice. Clean unit. Fireplace wasn’t cleaned upon checking in.

We had just a couple of hiccups...when given the packet with key cards in it at the main lodge check-in, we drove off to the villa. Of course, the keys did not work and we had to drive back to the lodge and have front desk rekey the cards. Secondly, I had received tons of information prior to arrival about the property and amenities inside. There was a working fireplace and wood and kindling provided HOWEVER there was no sort of lighter with which to start the fire. Had to wait until next day to go find one to purchase in town. Not a lot of thought put into that.

Beware! Owner misrepresented his property!

We were really looking forward to our stay at in this Villa. It was a little pricey for a one bedroom but it looked nice with a lot of amenities. First, it states specifically No Pets Allowed and use of a hot tub on the Lodge property. We would never book anything that allows dogs. The renters in the other side of the villa had 2 barking dogs. Each time the people left they barked and they barked upon their return. They barked when we returned to the villa. We are dog people but we did not pay to hear someone elses dogs bark. The hot tub was closed the entire month of October for renovations. We contacted the owner who simply said "It is pet friendly. You must have booked from an old ad." It's the ad I paid him through so how can it be old?. He also told us he didn't know the hot tub was closed. We asked up at the Lodge and was told all owners were notified of the renovations. How easy to just shrug us off with not even an I'm sorry offered. We would not have booked here if it was pet friendly and no hot tub. There are many great choices. Even though the grounds are very nice, there are other Villas and you have no idea what you will get when you rent this one. Vrbo was no help with this when we returned home. It's disappointing the owner is allowed to do this and the renter has no backing. I was told they had no recourse with the owner because we didn't contact them in a certain time frame.

We had an absolutely lovely stay in the Villa!

We had a perfect stay in Stowe! We were celebrating our 25th anniversary! The Villa was so quaint! JP was wonderful to work with! Very kind and helpful!!! We enjoyed our dinner at the Trappe lodge along with breakfast at the bakery every morning! , with the beautiful views we sat outside every morning enjoying the crisp cool fall air and gorgeous fall foliage while eating our yummy food! Soo many delicious options! We did eat breakfast in the dinning hall our last morning, it was a buffet style with equally delicious!!! Needless to say Villa 29 was just perfect! Thanks again JP!

Beautiful location, top notch lodging

There are many rental opportunities in the Stowe area, but the Trapp Family Lodge is unique for its spectacular location and its 2500 acres of trails, fields, and forests. Our rental resembled a master suite (and included a fireplace!). Clean, comfortable, and easy to come and go. We would rent it again.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

JP thank you for letting us experience your amazing home. Everything was as described, the kitchen was gourmet, comfortable beds with luxury linens, and the views were heavenly, I wish we could have stayed longer. Hope to be back one day. Highly recommend this VRBO.

The town of Stowe could not be more button cute, you’ll feel like you’re in a Rockwell painting. Enjoy a bustling food and dining scene. Craft beer lovers are in for a treat with premier breweries such as Alchemist, Idletyme, Rock Art, and several others who make their home in the Stowe area.
