We have stayed in the Duckhorn Lodge now three times and it is just a lovely house. The place is very homey, immaculate, the kitchen is well appointed, there is a great deck, the views are great, the place is very close to Washoe state park. We just always really have a wonderful and relaxing time in this wonderful house that is really right off the 50 that has a good market and a place to charge your EV, but feels totally secluded.NCheckin and checkout are effortless. And usually, the owners son is staying in the adjacent house, who is always just very friendly and welcoming but nonintrusive. We hope to be back again. We stayed over July 4th this time and understandably over the holiday the rates were relatively steep, but overall this place is just such a winning home that we just love sharing this special place.

Lovely and welcoming home

We stayed here for our ski trip to Heavenly. The place is beautiful, spacious, and comfy. The location is great and neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The home had huge windows that look out to a gorgeous view of the golf course and mountains dressed with snow in the background. We would stay here again.

Great Family Gathering Place

Perfect place to reconnect with our adult kids- walks in the neighborhood, morning coffee on the deck watching the golfers, games in the yard, family dinner! House was stunning and location was easy to get anywhere in South Lake but also away from the bustle and traffic. Highly recommend!!

Nothing Short of Amazing!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Duckhook. The home is beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and homey, and is in an ideal, peaceful location right on the golf course. The property managers were extremely attentive and mindful of every aspect of a comfortable stay. We miss it already and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a great stay! The home was clean, organized, spacious, and very cozy. We appreciated the extra blankets and that the heater worked well since we visited in the winter. The location was perfect, and the house is beautiful.A couple downsides: since it’s managed by an agency, responses weren’t as quick as we’re used to (though we did hear back within 24 hours). Also, the Nest Protect alarm expired at 2:50am on Sunday and started a continuous loud beeping (and echoing). We had to contact the emergency number provided but maintenance couldn’t come until 7am. Unfortunately this did disrupt our entire group’s sleep. Besides those small cons we overall really enjoyed our stay :)

Great Birthday Stay

We had a wonderful stay at Duckhook house. The place is nicer than the photos, which were the original selling point. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with what you need to cook a meal and easy to work around. There were 3 couples in our group and plenty of room to gather or do your own thing. Will return.

College Friends Golf Trip

We had a group of 8 that got together for the first time since graduating college and we couldn't have picked a better location. Communication was straightforward and simple. House had a perfect amount of space and backyard. Located close to South Lake Tahoe without all of the tourist traffic. Would recommend this house to anybody traveling to South Lake.

Quick Getaway

Beautiful location. We enjoyed the view the whole time. Deck was peaceful. One night the neighbor kids were running around screaming until about 11pm. Luckily they finally went inside. Other than that incident, most of the time we were there (3 nights) were quiet and peaceful.

Perfect location and beautiful setting

We have stayed in this house twice. I grew up in this neighborhood and I know this house is perfectly located for anyone who wants access to hiking, biking, paddling, golf, and basic amenities like the grocery store, restaurants, and the park without having to fight weekend traffic. I love the view of Mt. Tallac, proximity to Washoe Meadows State Park, and Tahoe Paradise Park. We bring our e-bikes and take advantage of the bike path network to get where we need to go. The house is beautiful and well appointed inside. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add screens on the rear sliders so guests can let the cool evening air in without also letting in mosquitoes in the spring.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was one of best VRBO’s (RnR) we have stayed in and we stay in a lot in the USA and Europe. Very stringent rules as they should be in a house of this quality. House is as good as the beautiful pictures show if not better. We had a small problem with the hearing system that they took care of in a timely matter. We will definitely use this company (RnR) if we ever find ourselves in an area the represent.

Peaceful and Relaxing!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two couples spent 5 days at this lovely home. It is well-situated, with nearby stores and restaurants. Located on a golf course, it has a lovely view and was quiet and peaceful. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is very well-equipped, right down to 2 types of cheese graters! Two things of note are that it is a short distance from the driveway parking to the front door, so unloading and carrying stuff from the car to the house is a bit of a work-out, so that could be an issue for some. Also, the kitchen table is interesting with the fold-in seats, but they are not comfortable and we tripped several times on the bases of the table. Those are small things, and wouldn't keep us from highly recommending this home to others who are seeking a peaceful and relaxing vacation!

Furniture items can be tricky as some guests favor these items while others do not but we have passed this information over to the homeowners for review.
