Find total privacy, and peacefulness in this secluded getaway. The only sounds heard here, come from the birds and other wildlife. In the beautiful Blue Hills of Barron County Wisconsin; this authentic log cabin is nestled in 40 acres of hardwood forest, accented by dozens of gorgeous flower gardens, complete with a pond and waterfall. Great for nature lovers, romantic getaways, crafting groups, and other small get-togethers for family and friends.

MAIN FLOOR amenities include: Fully stocked kitchen with newer appliances and dining table.
Living area with vaulted ceiling, leather furniture, reclining love seat, TV, blu-ray player, and movies.
Sun room with large windows overlooking bird feeders, gardens, pond, waterfall, and forest all around, also has lots of comfortable seating and a TV with blu-ray player.
Large coats and boots entryway with washer and dryer.
Bathroom with shower and antique cast iron bathtub.
Large bedroom with a queen size bed.

UPSTAIRS include: Loft seating area with large triangle windows and nice view.
Very large bedroom with one queen size bed and two twin beds.

DOWNSTAIRS amenities include: Unique fun bar area with traditional counter, bar stools, and medium refrigerator.
Large flat screen TV and blu-ray player. Large entertainment area with lots of seating, and floor space.

Large front porch seats 8 people, and has a blue tooth speaker for you to connect your music to. Great place to hang out, even if it’s raining. And it’s got lights for night use as well.

Great cabin for family get-together

Beautiful setting for this awesome cabin near Rice Lake. Super friendly and helpful owner. Used it for a family “reunion” getaway…..very relaxing. Very clean and well equipped indoors and outdoors.

Beautiful setting

In town for work, and stayed at Julies home. She was so accommodating, easy to work with and quick to communicate. Clean and cozy, her home was a welcome retreat for us, the gardens and water feature are stunning!! Cell service is hit or miss, some in our group could get service and others could not, but that is to be expected up in the Northwoods! Will be staying again! Thank you Julie!

Exceeded Our Expectations

We loved our stay at Julie's log cabin. The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the property and cabin are. The location is very private and quiet. We saw at least ten deer on the property. Julie has some of the nicest gardens that I have seen. The decorating in the cabin makes it feel very homey. There is plenty of space to be to together or spread out. Julie could not have been nicer. We loved the fire pit area. It's definitely the largest fire pit that we have seen. There was plenty of wood to burn and seating for our whole group. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO properties and this one is at the top.

A little spot of paradise.

What an incredible place, the hardest part was deciding which place to sit to enjoy which view. She has 12 gardens and a waterfall, the sound alone is so soothing. My whole family loved it. It was perfect for the occasion, and we all want to go back.

Secluded fun

A wonderful secluded home to enjoy some down time from phones and computers. Was able to enjoy family yard games, lazy days and get in some long walks and swimming. Gorgeous garden areas, plenty of opportunity to watch birds and enjoy outside without all the city noise. Inside was filled with convenience and easy to feed the family.

Beautiful log cabin with gardens in the woods

Such a beautiful property and well kept large log cabin in the woods. Privacy, relaxation and natural beauty. Loved the outdoor fire pit and areas to relax. The sunroom in the gone with views on all sides was a favorite room to sit in and have good visits and watch the birds and wildlife. Plenty of room inside and lots of utensils and dishes for meals. Only wish was for a little better cell service but know that isn’t in the owners control.

Julie and her home are incredible! The pictures do not do it justice (even in winter!), and everyone (from the adults, tweens and teenagers), were impressed with the accommodations, attention to detail for guests and the all around atmosphere of her cabin. We had planned to head out to Christie Mtn but never made it because we enjoyed the property so much. Winter bonfire, walking the trails, BBQ outside! So much space to spread out! It was a wonderful way to ring in the New Year! Thank you, Julie! From ALL of us!

Holiday retreat

This is a large, beautiful log cabin with all the modern conveniences nestled in the woods! We enjoyed exploring the snow-covered trails on the property, gathering around a campfire on a wintry day and watching the wildlife from the comfort of the sunroom. There is plenty of space to spread out in the cabin but it has ample gathering space to bring family members together in one room for meals, games and quiet time. Truly a special place!

Gorgeous Haven

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful home and gorgeous surroundings of this property. Arriving at Julie’s home in the woods was like stepping into a fairytale. The home as well equipped and extremely comfortable and clean. The warmth and charm of the interior coupled with the natural beauty outside made this the perfect setting for the first night of our Northwoods vacation. We enjoyed a short hike to the clearing where we watched a gorgeous sunset. The fire pit made for the perfect setting to close out our evening. In the morning, we were thrilled to watch many deer and birds just outside the windows of the cozy sunroom. Julie was the perfect hostess. She was great at communicating throughout the entire reservation process. We appreciated her flexibility with our change in plans and her generous hospitality. One night was simply not enough to enjoy all the charms and relaxation of this amazing haven in the woods! We look forward to returning again soon.

A Cabin Paradise!

This property is a hidden paradise! My family wanted a weekend getaway, and we wanted a location away from people. This place blew our expectations out of the water. Julie is a phenomenal host. She was waiting for us when we arrived, gave us the rundown, and left us to enjoy the property. We ran into her later when we took my girls for a walk on the trails, and she graciously talked with us for another 30 minutes. The property itself is stunning! There are several trails for those who like to walk. She has a firepit available for those who would like to have a fire (our girls are a bit too little right now). My oldest daughter LOVED hanging around the pond looking for frogs. Be prepared to see LOTS of deer. The house is IMMACULATE. For those needing lots of space to sleep, this cabin has a ton of room. There are three-floor levels, three bedrooms, several couches, and a ton of floor space. There is even a ton of space to spread out outside! If you are looking for beautiful Wisconsin scenery and a ton of space, book this place now!

Real Country Living

The property is wonderful, exactly how it is explained in the description. We truly enjoyed our family time together sitting around the campfire among the beautiful flowers and listening to the waterfall. The house was spectacular, very warm and cozy feeling and exceptionally clean. We have stayed in several vacation rentals in the past and this was by far our favorite one. Beautiful Property and Great Owner

A group of friends and I stayed at Julie's cabin while on a golf trip. We had a great time staying here. Lots of space to spread out, including an incredible yard to relax and have bon fires. Plenty of sleeping space and an overall beautiful cabin and property. Julie was an excellent host. The check-in process was easy and she was very responsive with all communication before and during the stay! We would love to stay here again nice time we are in the Rice Lake area. Thanks Julie!!

This was a beautiful getaway! Very pretty flower gardens and clean and unique log cabin.

Beautiful property

The property and space was just what we were looking for. Tons of room for the kids to play and adventure. Smores by the firepit, wildlife to view, flower gardens to appreciate. Best remote log cabin experience!

Wow! The photos on the site show how amazing the house is, but once you walk through all of the gardens and step inside this log home, you know you are remote remote remote - but so comfortably at home! The home has literally everything you need to enjoy the north woods experience. We loved using the fire pit for making s’mores and hanging out. The sunroom of the house is perfect for bird watching and spying deer. We were able to rent a pontoon for an afternoon on Red Cedar Lake - would definitely do that again! Julie could not have been more helpful, and when you learn that she built this home - it just adds to how special this place is. Thanks for everything, Julie!

When this cabin is not hosting guests, it is my full time residence. As such, I believe it is the most authentic, well-loved and well-cared for rental that any visitor could hope to find. We're thrilled to share this space with others, and believe you'll love this place as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

The cabin has a beautiful porch and a seating area near the pond and waterfall. These are great spots for watching and listening to the birds. The fire pit is another favorite area; perfect for creating lasting memories with family and friends. At the end of the day, don't forget to stroll on the hiking trails to the back of the property. The sunset here is beautiful.
