About Sharon Duke
After totally remodeling this home for our son's wedding we decided to rent it for short periods rather than have a full time tenant. It was a labor of love and we hope you will enjoy the beauty and quietude of this special cottage.

Amazing Views in Quaint Louisa
This quaint cottage in Louisa was perfect for our long weekend getaway. We enjoyed walking the property and watching the sun rise. It was so peaceful and the perfect location to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. Our only negative feedback is that the beds were very thin, creaky, and not very comfortable at all. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our stay.
The property was listed as having a fireplace and it had 2 chimneys but evidently no working fireplace as they were hidden. The WiFi was weak and could not feed in tv on the phone. Last, this was not the owners fault but mine as there was No TV and I did not notice that in the listing.
Oh my! No one has every pointed out that a fireplace is listed. I never intended for that. The chimneys were originally for wood stoves. Insurance on a rental prohibited them. So...no wood stove.
Sorry for the confusion.
A wonderful, cozy little retreat
We planned to visit Barboursville Vineyards for a vertical wine tasting and decided to make a weekend of it and book a VRBO for the four of us. The wine cottage was a perfect find!
We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the wide open fields behind the house, and admiring the beautiful pond. We relaxed on the screened porch with a glass of wine, and dined in both nights, taking advantage of the lovely kitchen which had everything one would need, including like-new appliances (and huge refrigerator!).
The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and there was ample room in the living room and family room to just hang out and read, listen to music, play games and talk. We wished we could stay longer and will definitely plan another trip to the area to stay here again.
The wine country cottage was perfect for 4 city folks wanting to get away from phones, interruptions, and clamor. We loved the solitude of it. We wandered both mornings with our morning coffee and loved the coziness of the home. We especially loved sitting out on the screened porch, the stars at night around the property, and making homemade pasta together in the kitchen. Even hit Charlottesville for lunch and Horton winery. Great fun! Thanks, Sharon and Butch, for your hospitality.
Great quiet getaway.
A beautiful cabin in the woods. We had a wonderful quiet weekend with our young baby.
Historic Green Springs is a protected farm area. There are many wineries with in a short drive.
