Where memories of a lifetime are made.
Whatever the season.
We would like to invite you to be our guests when you take your vacation in our area.
Northern Memories is a four season private vacation home nestled in a secluded setting with 150 feet of frontage on the shores of 1400 acre Ike Walton Lake. A sand lake bottom with gradual depth makes swimming and sunning a pleasure. The lake has limited public access, and no active resorts, so boat traffic is minimized. An abundant walleye and smallmouth bass population awaits the fishing enthusiast, with pan fish to keep the kids happy. We have a pier for swimming and boats, plus a large carpeted swim raft. Included are a 14 foot aluminum row boat, canoe and paddle boat.
Autumn offers gorgeous colors on the lake, or hikes in the woods. Winter enthusiasts enjoy the Snowmobile and X-C trails in the area. Spring fishing is great.
This 1850 square foot home offers rustic luxury in a majestic full log retreat. We have 3 large bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, 2 full baths, a great room with fireplace, a modern kitchen, separate laundry room, and country charm throughout. Our huge deck is level with the lake, and is perfect for cook-outs or watching the sunset. The large screened porch runs along the side of the building. This non-smoking home sleeps up to 9 guests.
Just 15 minutes from Minocqua, Northern Memories offers easy access to favorite vacation activities, such as shopping, ski shows, restaurants, golf, and winter sports. After a fun-filled day, return for a quiet walk in the woods, sunsets on the lake, or a campfire at the beach.
We thought it would be fun to try a rental. I had a few meetings in the area. So we rented the cabin brought my daughter an son-in-law an the grandchild. We arrived about 4pm on Monday got settled in an went down to the dock. I was told it might be taken out so was surprised to see it was still in. Found the boat full of rain water so pulled it up on shore to drain over night. Went to meetings Tuesday. It was a cloudy rainy day so went sightseeing after. Got back for the sunset an noticed the dock had been taken out. Wednesday awoke to rain an high wins an 46 degrees. So much for fishin. So played some of the games on the side pouch went for a walk down the road an looked around. All an all it was a great stay even thought we didn't get to go on the lake. Next time will try to make it earlier in the season so it my be better weather. Thanks again the Holmes Family.
Northern Memories is a great name for a great place!
If you need a secluded place in the woods right on a lake. This is it! The cabin was very clean and very nice. We caught "keepers" right off the dock. Loons swam by and eagles flew past. Minocqua Brewery is great as is Dan's fudge! The communication with owner (David) was perfect too. He even mailed a forgotten jacket.
We WILL be back! Thank You
We had the best time at Northern Memories! This vacation was a sweet little ending to our summer. We couldn't have been happier with the home or the property it was on. The pictures inside do not do it justice. Everyone in our party agreed that this cabin exceeded expectations. The kids in our group were occupied outside the whole time we were there, other than the 2 rainy days. And even when it rained, we enjoyed the many choices of board games. The fishing was GREAT! All 3 kids caught fish, including a 21 inch walleye! We will definitely be back! Thank you!
Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful lake home with us. We booked our stay at Northern Memories the last weekend in May before the busy summer rush in Minocqua. I cannot express how excited and pleased we were with out stay. They property had more amenities than we ever could have anticipated. As you can see.... we have nothing but positive things to say. We hope to return again when the weather cooperates and the water is warm. Looks like a very nice lake that will be great for swimming in the summer time.
Thank you again!
Enjoyed 4 nights of Up North Winter at Norther Memories. House was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Location was convenient for going into Minocqua, recommend the Minocqua Brewery, and the snowshoeing trails in the Northern Highlands Forest.
