Enjoyed time in Helen and then came back to relax in comfortable setting of this comfy cabin! Great for family and kids! Tatiana was very attentive and welcoming !
Cabin met all our needs: clean, comfortable, close to Helen, near trails, and great mountain views. Only recommendation would be to upgrade the outdoor seating.
I had just ourchased a new vehicle and wish that the road to the cabin was paved.

Donna,
Congratulations on buying a new vehicle!
My understanding is that nothing happened to your car just as nothing happened to the variety of rental cars I used to get up there.
So gravel road is not a problem for anyone and its part of all mountains cabins approach. Unfortunately I can't pave the road myself as it belongs to the community.
Hope you enjoyed your stay and serenity of mountains and time with friends and family.
First of all, the view is more than outstanding, especially right after it's rained or at sunrise. Could not have had a better stay. Even my hermit of a father absolutely adored it! It was remote enough so that we had privacy and quiet. But also close to all of the attractions that you would go to helen, to see.
We really enjoyed the cabin. The location is perfect, about 5 miles from Helen. My kids, 18 and 21 spent most of the night on the first floor playing games or singing Karaoke. I was able to get the rest I needed sleeping on the 3rd floor. The mountain view in the early morning was beautiful while drinking my coffee and enjoying nature. Highly recommend this cabin!
We had a great trip- cabin is just what we expected. Loved the views, alpine frame of the house. I knew there was a ping pong table, but the karaoke machine was a complete surprise and so much fun. If you stay here pack in plenty of food as you won't want to leave. Very convenient by car to town and other recommended restaurants. I would stay here again if only we could get away every year:)

Sarah,
we are so glad you enjoyed you stay as well as our newest entertainment technology addition, the karaoke machine:)
The feeling of not wanting to leave is very familiar.
The cabin was in a great location! Close to Helen and Cleveland. It is also right around the corner from Anna Ruby Falls. The basement has ping pong and karaoke which we enjoyed every night. The rooms are spread out over 3 floors which is great for down time. The road is gravel and winding but we managed just fine in a mini van so all good. Would definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very pretty, my 8 year old daughter wanted to move in! The deck and the views where pretty awesome. Tatiana, the owner, was always quick to anwser and follow up with us. I loved the binder she had prepared with q&a, suggestions for restaurants and things to do. The diary was a cute touch as well. We would love to come back someday!
Dear guests who read this review, please note that this guest was provided a full refund and we care about the property and guests satisfaction as you can see from all other reviews.
This is extremely unfair that guests can leave 1-star rating over one dirty bed and after staying at the property for free.
However this won't stop us from trying our best to deliver the most wonderful experience for everyone who chooses Fox Den on their mountain vacation in magical Helen, GA

Homey cabin with a beautiful view of the mountains
I stayed four nights with my husband, two teenage children, and our two dogs . I had to make quick plans on Saturday for a Sunday check-in and I was approved within hours of my request, even though it can take up to 24 hours. The communication with the property manger/owner was excellent. Upon approval, I received emails with detailed information about the booking summary, cabin directions, and contact information. I was sent a pdf listing detailed directions to Fox Den that included a map, which was very handy. Once my family and I arrived at the cabin, we were not disappointed. In fact, we were very pleased with the size of the cabin, its amenities, and the view. The kitchen was supplied with dishes, cookware, and utensils for making or grilling our meals. There are seasonings and a few food items as well, although not required to be supplied, but pleasantly unexpected. Tatiana, the owner, has done will in supplying the cabin, including a flashlight hung by the front door. I used it at night when we walked out dogs down Miner's Mountain Road. There was even a bag of charcoal, not required to be supplied, under the kitchen sink we used the first night and then purchased a replacement bag at Betty's Country Store, a fully stocked grocery store, in Helen. Our dogs enjoyed the wrap around porch and offered a spot for their water bowl. There is a gate that opens from the wrap around porch to the front porch that swings closed, which allowed our dogs a place to play as we cooked on grill and drank coffee on the back porch. We roasted marshmallows over the fire pit located at the end of the driveway. Fox Den is in a great location that is central to all the waterfalls, Helen, and outdoor activities. I would definitely stay at Fox Den again to enjoy it during different seasons of the year.

Heather,
thank you for taking time to leave the feedback. It allows other renters to learn more about the Fox Den cabin and it brings me a lot of joy as an owner to hear you enjoyed your stay.
There are also extra flashlights in every bedroom stand draw and a kitchen draw. So glad it was useful.
It is very thoughtful for you to replace the charcoal.
And since I have two dogs in my family, I'm very happy you were able to travel with canine part of your family and not leave them behind for this trip.

Great location, needs some TLC
This cabin was in a great location and overall was clean and well-equipped. We live in Florida and are used to dealing with bugs and all kinds of creatures, but we should not expect our son to wake up the morning after we arrived with bees swarming his head and large flying ants all over his room. He slept in the basement the remainder of our stay. The owner kindly messaged me the day after we arrived to notify me that an exterminator would be there the following day so clearly there was a known bee/bug problem. There were also sticky fly traps on the window of the bedroom at the front of the cabin. When I let the owner know that my son had bugs all over his room she did not even respond to that portion of my message, instead noted that if I wanted the exterminator to come inside I could arrange this with the exterminator (as if this is something I want to deal with on vacation).
We did not utilize the deck much, as everything was filthy out there, it appeared that the tables and chairs had not been wiped down in quite some time. Yes, I realize this is the outdoors in a tree-filled area but of all the places I’ve stayed in the mountains between N GA and WNC, this was the least appealing outdoor area.
My other son slept on top of the bedding in his room because the sheets on his bed were so pilled/worn that they were rough to sleep on.
Our kids did enjoy the game area downstairs.
Also, the wifi was spotty at best. We had better service using our data plan.
If given a little TLC, like a simple paint job for example in the bathrooms/hallways, proper pest control, some newer linens, and proper care of the outdoor area, this cabin has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay.

Carmen,
I apologize that you have to experience that.
The previous guest reported the problem and it was addressed by the maintenance person according to him but in addition I wanted a specialist exterminator to come in and do it professionally and scheduled him before you even reported anything.
The best I can do is to respond right away as the problem arises. Its outside of my control to prevent the nature from happening.
I'm sorry if I misunderstood you and if you wanted to receive a discount, you should just have mentioned it.
I'm here to answer all the guests right away.

Great location and floorplan
The location of the cabin is great. Downtown Helen, the state park and many hikes and waterfalls are nearby. As described, the road to get to the cabin is steep, winding and very narrow. We had no problems navigating it. There are mirrors for the blind curves for safety. If you are a nervous driver, I would not recommend.
The furniture has changed a bit and is not exactly like the pictures in the listing but nothing significant. There are a lot of "vintage" pieces that are worn and not in great shape.
The floorplan is great, especially if anyone staying on the top floor goes to bed early and others want to play games on the bottom level without being quiet. The ping pong table is great though the three balls and the very worn paddles make it interesting when hitting the balls. There are many board games and a foosball table that we used as well.
Of the three bedrooms and the lower level bedroom (so four beds), the only one with a TV is the one on the top level, so if that is important, keep that in mind.
The owner is very easy to communicate with, and she responds promptly. I had some questions before we arrived, and she was helpful.
The cabin, unfortunately, had many issues with being dirty when we arrived. I chose not to address it with the owner until after checkout as I did not want anyone coming into the cabin after we checked in and were trying to enjoy our short trip. I did take pictures when we arrived. The owner and I corresponded, and that person will no longer be used.
The long-term cleaning and maintenance leaves a lot to be desired as well. The old, huge cobwebs were hanging from many places. The outdoor chairs were all dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned in quite some time. The carpet is stained. The inside of the washing machine (the agitator) has gray buildup on it. The paint, trim, furniture, etc. is all in need of some work. I will not list everything here.
Overall, even though I had to clean when we got there, we chose to overlook the negatives and had a great time. I don't know if my expectations were too high based on many other cabins/condos we've rented over the years, but this one was definitely not well-maintained. I was surprised after reading all of the great reviews.

Sloan, thank you for your detailed account and communication. This is a cabin in the woods and we are maintaining it the best we can but we are not trying to be a 5-star resort. So outdated furniture and appliances as well as some spider webs and some bear tracks are part of the character.
Also if your cleaning issues were reported at the time of the check-in and not after you checked out, you would never have to clean it yourself.
About the host
Hosted by Tatiana
I have been seeking adventures in the wilderness and have been all over the country including Grand Canyon, Zion , Sequoias and many other national parks.
Why they chose this property
However this area have been my most frequent destination. Maybe due to its proximity to Florida, where I live. It is only 2-hour drive from Atlanta airport. Or maybe it did feel like a paradise with its mountains beauty and serenity of nature, bubbling creeks and rushing waterfalls. its forests and wildlife. And who would not want to call this paradise your second home. I hope you will enjoy my home just as I do and will explore everything this area has to offer.
What makes this property unique
There are plenty of hiking trails in any direction of the property including famous Appalachian Trail. In fact its South Terminus is not far from here and if you hop on it in spring and hike for 2,000 miles, you will end up in Main in fall:) There is abundance of wineries, each of which has its own unique style and wine. There is an enchanting Alpine Village, town of Helen, that attracted me in the first place. There is something to do for everyone. Nearby Unicoi State park offers activities and swimming in the lake and playground for families with small children. River tubing is a great family activity to enjoy during the summer.
