The Space:
A 2-bedroom loft inside Old Saint Vincent — an 1880s hospital converted into residences on Leadville's Main Street. Second floor, 14-foot ceilings, exposed brick, and floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain views.
The infrared sauna is built into the master bedroom — step in after a day on the mountain without leaving the unit. The private balcony faces the peaks and catches both sunrise and sunset. An electric fireplace handles the evenings.
The kitchen is fully stocked with a GE stainless steel range, full-size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and hot water kettle. Cookware, dishes, and spices for 4. The dining area seats 4 with mountain views through the windows.
A dedicated workspace with high-speed WiFi sits in the main living area — 14ft ceilings, exposed brick, Smart TV with streaming.
What this loft does well:
— Infrared sauna + private balcony in a walkable historic building, 1 min from Main St
— 14ft ceilings, exposed brick, and massive windows — the architecture carries the room
— 2 queen beds with 2 full en-suite bathrooms — each bedroom is self-contained
What to know before booking:
— No air conditioning — at 10,152 feet, Leadville stays naturally cool year-round
— The building dates to the 1880s — original windows add character but can let in drafts during winter. Space heaters provided in every room.
Guest Access:
The entire loft is yours — please make yourself at home.
Self check-in via lockbox — your code is provided in the digital guidebook email before arrival. No key exchange, no waiting.
Street parking is free and plentiful. No designated spot, but you'll rarely have trouble finding one within a block.
Shared washer/dryer in the building hallway — no need to pack your entire wardrobe.
The Neighborhood:
You're one minute on foot from the heart of one of Colorado's most storied mountain towns. Leadville sits at 10,152 feet — the highest incorporated city in North America — surrounded by more 14,000-foot peaks than anywhere else in the Rockies.
Walk to Main Street's restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and galleries without moving your car.
What's walkable from the front door:
» 1min ➔ Harrison Ave / Main Street
» 2min ➔ Tennessee Pass Cafe, Wild Oscar's
» 3min ➔ Two Mile Brewing Company
» 5min ➔ City on a Hill (coffee + food)
» 5min ➔ Silver Dollar Saloon
What's a short drive:
» 12min ➔ Turquoise Lake (swimming, kayaking, fishing)
» 12min ➔ Ski Cooper (uncrowded, 400+ acres)
» 25min ➔ Copper Mountain
» 26min ➔ Mt. Elbert Trailhead (highest peak in CO)
» 30–50min ➔ Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Beaver Creek
The Mineral Belt Trail — a 12-mile paved loop around the entire town — is accessible on foot from the building. Victorian-era history, silver mining museums, and nearby ghost towns within reach.
Getting Around:
You'll need a car — no public transit or rideshare in Leadville.
From Denver (DEN): ~2hr drive via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S. Check road conditions at cotrip.org in winter. AWD or chains recommended Nov–Apr.
From Eagle/Vail (EGE): ~1hr drive.
Once here, downtown is a 1-block walk. Ski resorts and trailheads require driving (12–50 min).
Free street parking. 2 vehicles max per unit.

Gorgeous view, excellent amenities. The historic building was spectacular and the customer service was amazing. We will definitely stay again!
Very close to the grocery store. Plenty of cookware to make meals during the stay, including multiple pans and all kinds of utensils: Drip coffeepot, hot water heater, coffee grounds grinder, etc.Beds and pillows were SUPER comfortable and plenty of heat sources. Somewhat limited water pressure in the bedroom #2 shower but to be expected in a historic building. Loved the electric fireplaces throughout! The free available washer and dryer was also a nice bonus.Would definitely book again.

Thank you for the great review! I'm glad you enjoyed the kitchen, cozy fireplaces, and comfortable beds. I'd love to host you again.
Great property with a great location. Overall this place is fantastic… the only tiny negative is the pillows on the beds aren’t great, so may want to bring your own; but that didn’t take away from the space, the price and the location which are all fantastic!!

About the host
Hosted by Traverse Hospitality
We (Alex & Nadim) are grateful to be able to offer an outdoor focused community to our guests up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We both love rock climbing, hiking, biking, skiing and spending pretty much all of our free time outside; we were even crazy enough to run the Leadville 100. Our mission is to help as many people as possible discover the magic of the mountains...which is why we founded High Rocky Homes!
We're doing our best to make real estate and mountain access more affordable for EVERYONE!
For our real estate clients, we give half of our commission back to our buyers and sellers, saving them an average of $5,000. This helps our clients furnish a new home or simply reduces the high closing costs associated with buying or selling real estate.
For our property management clients, we offer a service that has no restrictive contracts, a lower commission model and superior performance. This means that more booking revenue goes back to our clients to offset the costs of their mountain homes.
For our guests, we've been working hard to offer more lodging accommodations that are clean, affordable, and full of great amenities set up for active people who want to enjoy the mountains for short or longer term stays!
