About the property

Private Lakefront Home With Mountain Vistas. Canoe And Rowboat Available. Dock.

At the end a quite road, this charming waterfront cabin is a welcome retreat. Walk into an open family room, kitchen and dining room floor plan all looking out onto the crystal clear waters of Lake Nottely and Chattahoochee national forest. Rustic is not rough here, granite counter tops in kitchen and both bathrooms. Lovely hardwood floors with cozy stone fireplace. Great way to start the morning with two of the bedrooms overlooking the water. Walk out from your bedroom onto beautiful stone patio looking onto this peaceful mountain lake paradise. Third quiet back bedroom overlooks the back of the wooded lot.

From the fully stocked kitchen, walk out to large wrap around porch with grill area. Just a few steps down and you are ready for all the fun Lake Nottely provides. Swim in the clear water, boat, canoe, fish or just sit on the deck and watch the white bass hit the top water. Large dock on deep water is a rare treat. A quick ride will take you to nearby charming Blue Ridge for great restaurants and shopping. Whitewater rafting, golf and great hiking in the Chattahoochee National Forest. (Hiking trail maps available in the cabin). Canoe, rowboat and paddle boat are all available for your enjoyment. The nearby marina offers power boat rentals. Here you will most definitely find "permission to relax".

Perfect vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures don't make justice, the home is even better in person. Nice, clean, tastefully decorated and fully equipped. More like a home than a vacation rental. Shirley was super nice, she came to meet us and brought us a book full of suggestions of things to do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to comeback soon.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I wanted to get away from the city for our NYE celebration and this was the perfect place. The larger kitchen and dining area worked out great from us. We enjoyed visiting Blue Ridge near by. The view of the lake from the back porch could not have been better! Lovely place.

Perfect location!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is in the perfect location at the end of a quiet road right on the lake!! The house is spotlessly clean, the kitchen well equipped, and the gas wood burning fireplace a major boon for the cool fall weather. The owner was very responsive to my questions before we arrived and we didn't need assistance with a thing during our stay. They really have thought of everything. We are looking forward to returning in the summer when we can utilize the lake for more than just the beautiful view. I highly recommend this property for a weekend getaway or longer stay.

Overall, Views were AWESOME!...Privacy was great... and the Home was fair.

  • 3 of 5

The lake views were absolutely extraordinary!!!! By far the most beautiful view!! Privacy of this home was better than we had ever expected!

However, there were some issues we had during our stay... we have stayed in many cabins and this has been the only one that we have not been fully happy with nor were we impressed with other than the view and the privacy.

First... the main level of the home was furnished with very old, not well maintained nor taken care of with indentions in the arms and not well cleaned very dusty sofa's... same goes for the rugs seemed to be not well maintained nor taken care of very dusty.

Also, the bedroom upstairs was not useable for adults, it was only useable for children/teens with two twin beds, the linens did not seem clean, as there were a lot of stains on the comforters.

The kitchen was very nice and it did have everything needed to make pretty much any meal.

Downstairs... the stairs are very steep, however, normal for an old home. Smelled as the basement had mold and/or mildew issues.. and very cold. The other two bedrooms and bathroom were located downstairs... same issues as the upstairs bedroom, in regards to the linens - which did not seem clean and were stained.

Outdoor amenities - Row boat, Kayak and Canoe were all up near the home, making it extremely difficult to use as you have to carry these very heavy boats down to the lake - Which is a very steep and extremely rocky bank... I believe the owners should have made better accommodations, so quests can actually use the boats with ease and comfort.

Perfect get away

  • 5 of 5

Permission to Relax is an idyllic cabin and setting. The owners have decorated the cabin perfectly. The kitchen was stocked with everything a visitor would need to cook a gourmet meal. All you need is to bring your favorite coffee, brew a pot, and enjoy the views from the deck over looking Lake Nottley.

Great cabin and location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The cabin was in pristine condition when we arrived. It is very comfortable and cozy. The view of the lake is awesome, and Shirley didn't seem to forget anything. It's close (but not too close) to local towns for forays back into civilization, and is also close to several parks for hiking, adventures, etc. Reasonably priced and very nice. We would definitely return.
