Newfound Lakefront Cottage - 2026 Summer openings!

This is an ideal location for those looking for a quiet oasis on the crystal clear shores of Newfound Lake. The property's beach is a gradual and sandy, appropriate for swimmers of all levels. Our rental home is located on 50 feet of private, beachfront including a small concrete pier for the use of the guests of the rental.

The 3-bedroom home sleeps six and is located directly on Newfound Lake on a quiet, private dirt road. The home offers an open floor plan with a full kitchen, living room, dining room, full bath and laundry room on the first floor and three bedrooms on the second floor (Bedroom 1 and 2 offer queen beds and bedroom 3 offers two twin beds). It is only a short walk to Shackett's Store for early morning homemade donuts or ice cream after dinner!
Enjoy amazing views or catch some sun on the two-level deck only 50 feet from the water's edge. Or better yet, enjoy a book while lounging on the sandy beach.

This home is family-owned, is extremely clean, and fully furnished.

The maximum occupancy is 6 overnight guests - no exceptions.

This property is not appropriate for hosting events or parties.

Maximum number of vehicles: 2

Summer Rentals must be booked for Saturday to Saturday

A very nice place

Right on the lake, very nice view of the lake from sunny living room and the deck, great little beach for putting in kayaks.

Family Fun Getaway

Beautiful & Perfect Location

We had such an amazing stay at Newfound Lake this year! The property and house were so well maintained, and the property managers were kind and helpful! And, of course, the lake was beautiful! Can’t wait to go back again next year!

Very Nice Vacation at the Beehive on Newfound Lake

Wendy and Doug were very friendly and helpful. The house was very clean, well organized and well equipped. We would definitely rent from them again.

Favorite stay at Newfound

Great house. Beautiful views. The lawn and beach area was perfect. My granddaughter loved the kayaks and my son used the canoe. Doug couldn’t have been more accommodating. Very quiet area.

A Great Relaxing Vacation

We had a great relaxing vacation. The cottage is beautiful and spacious, and best of all - right on the water. The private beach area is great. The water is not too deep right off of shore and is perfect for younger or less experienced swimmers. The property owners, Wendy and Doug, were very helpful, kind, and gracious. One evening they even took us out around the lake on a boat! Next time we go back to Newfound Lake - this is where we will want to stay!

Beautiful Lake Paradise

What a beautiful place to vacation! House is exactly as pictured, very clean, laundry on site. Steps away from a perfect, private beach. So easy to watch our children play and swim. Gorgeous views! Would love it if some egg crates were added to the beds to make them more comfortable. Would definitely return! Super kind owners and a very peaceful atmosphere.

Great vacation rental cant wait to go back next year.

Property was extremely clean and well furnished. Honestly the house was much nicer than any rental i have stayed at before. The whole family enjoyed playing at the beach and sun bathing in the water. The area is very quiet and located at the end of a private road. We went just about every night to Shacketts ice cream stand which is a short walk from the property. The owners Doug and Wendy were fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the area and were able to make many suggestions on restaurants and activities in the area. We cant wait to go back next year!

Great spot, perfect for young kids

Wendy and Doug's house is a great place on Newfound Lake. Located in a nice neighborhood off of the main road, it is nice and quiet. The house is very clean and amenities are great...you don't need to bring linens, towels, etc. like many other listings require. A/C is a huge plus, the private beach is a massive plus, and there are plenty of places to lounge around. There is also a lot to do for families close by, lots of places to eat, get ice cream, coffee, etc. for adults and kids. And Wendy and Doug are very hospitable and very welcoming. We (and especially our kids) are very excited to return.

Great lakefront property!

Great house located on lakefront! Neighborhood was quiet and away from the main road. The house was functional and spacious for our party of 5 adults. Enjoyed hanging out on the Adirondack chairs in the front yard with our group watching boaters, etc. and the beautiful scenery. Having the canoe and kayak with the house was an added plus for exploring the lake and fishing. Easy walk to Shacketts Market for a quick shopping trip or for ice cream in the evenings. Our hosts were helpful and friendly. Would definitely return to this house in the future.

Quiet time on Newfound Lake

Beautiful listing right on Newfound Lake. You have your own private beach area to just sit with your feet in the water and listen to the waves as boaters go by. The house is very clean and the owners have everything organized perfectly. White binder on the counter is filled with information to answer any questions you may have about the area and property, but if you do have a question that is not answered in the binder, just call Wendy or Doug! I loved all the outlets available and the night light fir the stairs and bathroom. Water pressure was the best for a nice hot shower after being in the lake. Overall, very nice experience! Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful waterside cottage

The Beehive was a perfect stay for our family vacation. The practicals like cleanliness and necessities were excellent, but if we needed anything, the hosts and neighbors, Wendy and Doug, were not only helpful but very friendly (also, if there is anything you want to know about the area past and present, Doug will know). We especially loved using the canoe and kayak for paddles around Mayhew Island and the shoreline. Newfound Lake is special and to be able to experience it from this sweet waterside cottage was perfect. We didn't want to leave, but will not hesitate to return again next year.

Outstanding vacation rental!

The Beehive exceeded our expectations. The house is clean, comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked. The view of the lake is gorgeous. The private sandy beach was the best part! It’s truly private and the water depth is perfect for kids. The water is so clear and it has a sandy bottom. Couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot! Wendy and Doug are amazing. They were super helpful with anything we needed and are all around great people. 10/10 highly recommend. We’ll be back next year!

First full family vacation

My husband and I had our first full family vacation with our two sons (ages 1 and 3) at this awesome location! The house was extremely clean and comfortable. We spent every day on our private sandy beach which was easily accessible by a few cement steps. We ALL loved that it was a short walk to enjoy some yummy ice cream! Wendy and Doug were very friendly and got back to us right away with any questions we had. We highly recommend staying here. We will be back for sure!

Great Vacation

Newfound Lake is beautiful and this home is right on the water. We had a great view of Mayhew Island and the mountains behind from the living room and the deck. It has a very spacious kitchen with everything you need. Our hosts who live right next store couldn't have been nicer. The shallow sandy beach would be great for little ones. I hope we have a chance to go back soon.

Great vacation!

We had such a great vacation at Newfound Lake this year! The house was perfect, very well kept and homey, and having the private beach outside was great with the kids, not to mention the view from the porch. The location was also a plus on a dead-end side street and within walking distance of Shackett's, perfect when you need to grab something at the store or want to get ice cream with the family. Thank you Wendy and Doug for letting us stay in your home, we hope to be back next year!

Sweet cottage

We had a lovely week with three generations. There are many things to do in the area - hiking, boating, swimming and shopping. Owners are lovely people and are there if needed.

Great Vacation

we really enjoyed our week long stay. The cabin was very clean and welcoming when we arrived. The water and beach are gorgeous, the water is shallow for a good distance from shore which is great for younger kids! All in all it was an awesome week and location, Wendy and Doug were awesome to work with and very accommodating as well! Will definitely be looking to stay again next summer.

Wonderful Home!

This was more than a rental...it felt like home. Very clean, well appointed, lots of thought went into having items that you would need for a lake vacation...beach towels, life jackets, a kayak and a canoe. The location on the water was perfect. You walk from the deck, across a short lawn, directly to the water. There's a nice beach for pulling up kayaks and canoes and it's a shallow walk to the mooring, if you bring your boat. The sunrises are gorgeous. I can't say enough great things about Wendy and Doug. We appreciate them opening up this rental home. We will definitely go back.
